Martone was a mistake, but not the others. Had to be done. They hadn't done anything since 2018. Coming off covid. Had built that core group for years.

Were the best team for 3-4 months. Should've won vs LDN but went full Sarnia as per usual.

Look what 1 run did. Best attendance they've had in 20 years since last January. Conference is stacked this yr. We still would've been bad now if they sold and 0 guarantee they guys they could've got would've formed a core as good as Burke, Voit, Mast, Dillingham, Ritchie, Gaudreau, Vilmanis, Lantz.
It's amazing to see the attendance go up but I question whether they'll actually sustain that if this team is in the basement this year and next which looks likely. What good does that run do if you have two years that completely undo that progress? I understand that it would have been a risk to sell but ultimately it was a risk to go all in like that and it didn't pay off. We can't keep being OK with this organization failing. If you go all in you have to have win it all and they didn't. If the team sold and traded Voit they would have gotten an '06 to pair with Martone for this year and next which would have been great. We'll obviously never really ever be able to know which was the right decision because one will always be a hypothetical. The lack of future core pieces emerging through the first half of the season has really made me question whether buying last year was the right choice

Not sure what Mailloux has to do with a goalie throwing a cheap shot?
cheap shot? cmon.... he bumped him. Some guy was calling Chartier an idiot for bumping a guy on the ice in here and calling us clowns ect ... so I reminded him of Mailloux being a Knight fan favourite to point out who the real idiots/clowns are.

It was 100% a cheap shot lol. It wasn’t a terrible cheap shot by any means, but it was for sure a cheap shot. Chartier intentionally went out of his way to hit an unsuspecting player who didn’t have the puck.

Either way, weather you think it was a cheap shot or not. It was a silly play, that directly led to a melee.

Let's not forget Dickinson broke his stick over Moses's back I would consider that a cheap shot.

chartier was out of the net to play the puck.. he was standing at the circle for quite some time.... the knights player was skating directly at him .... I dont think it was silly in the slightest .... the game was chippy and he prevented the knight player from hitting his defenceman. It only looks bad cause the knight player somehow went flying like he'd been shot with his arms flailing ... thats hockey, things happen it's really a non-issue... tbh it makes me like chartier even more.

I’m not going to change your mind in this argument, but watch it again. There was no dive as you are suggesting, it was 2 gloves up high on an unsuspecting player. Anyway, let’s move on so I will agree it’s a non-issue at this point, I will also agree if that was my goalie, it would make me like him more.

Well the fight was the most entertaining part of the game tonight. I don't have many good things to say about this team right now. I was in the camp of buying last year being the right idea but now I'm leaning more towards @davewheeler side. Should have kept Martone, MacDonell, and Namestnikov and traded guys like Voit, Burke, and Mast. Could have been competitive for multiple years if we got the right guys back but instead we're going to suck for five years again instead. It's an incredibly bleak outlook for the Sting!
Lets hope it's a lesson learned... I think Seca got a bit too excited and his inexperience showed... I don't think we will be bad for 5 years... next year will be bad... just as bad if not worse... so we get a top 4 pick this year and next year including import picks too remember. We should trade fisher next year for something good also... then year 3 we will have Brown at his peak along with everyone from this years draft. plus a but load of draft picks... Look at Windsor in 2006 ... 2nd overall pick... nailed Taylor Hall 2nd and Ellis 22nd. Toss in a good returning rookie in Henrique and the rebuild is done. Windsor made playoffs next year then nailed Cam Fowler in the draft and had the best 2 year run ever 107-22-7 and 2 memorial cups.... Turnarounds can happen fast if you do it right... Can Seca do it? we'll see.

It's the Jr hockey cycle right. For everyone outside London they go for it maybe maybe get another crack then suck for 2 years then go again.

Sarnia just never wins so it hurts that much more and as we've talked about they always go fully all on opposed a semi all in where they keep some promising players.

As u said hopefully Seca learned. I love the aggressiveness. He built one helluva team. Can't trade a legit franchise piece like Martone.

He will never make that mistake again because when Martone goes 1st overall in 2025 it will be brought up that he was traded and people will wonder what idiot traded him.
- I bet if you asked any Windsor fan prior to 2006 would they ever win back to back memorial cups they would have told u to F off.

McCue suspended. Had a bit of a laugh reading the post game article. They took a bunch of quotes from McCue. Where he talks about how dirty Moses is for cross checking Barkey a couple times. But yet completely ignore the fact. That the game before when they where up 6-2 and slew foot a 16 year old who's r most skilled forward.

It's like after one season of overbuying and underachieving the Sting are right back to their Hatcher era irrelevance.
The OHL officiating is still incompetent but at the end of the season none of last nights 💩 show will matter and one of these teams will be in the playoffs :sarcasm:

Right after Moses tried to break his stick over Barkey's face...

Chartier intentionally let the puck go by him by lifting his stick up and letting the puck go into the restricted area then went out of his way to make the hit against a player that is NOT allowed to hit him.

You may want to stay away from those oil fields as I feel it may be affecting you eye sight and brainwaves...yikes.
I think Moses had a staff not a stick. Maybe a different Moses?

Sarnia sting, back to being irrelevant. Right where ownership loves to be. Never going to understand some of the moves last year , but hey, there's always next year........

I spoke out against the moves last Jan.but most posters were happy to have 3 to 5 wks of good hockey, well like I said here we are at the bottom and everyone is pissed . You asked for it and you got it . Been a STH for 23 yrs and have had enough.

Little longer than 3-5 weeks. But we all have different opinions. They made it to somewhere they've never been. But still failed the objective all teams set out for.

I can say confidently had they punted on last yr after building for years I might have been done then. I was already fading after covid but last year's adds & ensuing run sucked me back into why I love the team & league. Sure I'm not the only one that happened to either, especially looking at the attendance.

But it is what it is now. U wanted to sell. They didn't and lost. Had they sold they would've sucked 3-4 years in a row, still been bad this yr then probably lost next yr because it's what we always do. No matter the roster or opponent.

definitely don't fault u if your done. As I said I almost was last yr before the run. We all can only take so much disappointment.

I'm not too sure what's worse, being a Sarnia sting fan or a Toronto maple leaf fan. Well I'm both so I guess that's the worst......fml
lol, I’m not far behind yah. Oilers and Sting…oh well, just think of how sweet the taste of victory will be when the day comes!
Wow first time I've ever had post taken down. I'm catching up to u Dave lol.
I mean half the mods on this board are LK fans so don’t be shocked. The slander on their board is totally acceptable though!

I'm with yah. Do I think they could have found a way to keep Martone and still have gone fully in? Yes, absolutely and that’s on Seca 100%. That may have been the only wrong move he made, but we were still going all in regardless. We had the team to win it all, we just failed in typical Sarnia fashion! I guess we will find out how much the coaching has to do with it, because if Letang also can’t coach a team full of Canada’s best players, then we’re in bigger trouble then we think.

Tbf it is a rather weak Canada roster for once. Seem like the clear #3 behind SWE/USA. But he certainly needs to open up to being more rewarding, creative etc

I do think he let last year's team be creative and borderline reckless but as Dave said Martone took weeks to get T9 ice. Same for Brown. Makes no sense. I'm all for sheltering rookies but not when they are legitimately one of your best players.

Sting & Flyers for me. Man we sure know how to pick teams huh? Lmaoo.
