Any news on what we're giving up? My guess is that it's not any of our 04s or OAs. My guess is maybe Doherty or Lominac.

We'll see if it happens. I'd guess Doherty as well if they were to move a non vet out. Just hasn't found a footing here. Don't think Letang likes his game much.

Be interesting if trades pickup in general.. surprised it's been so quiet post freeze. Feel like it's gonna get wild. Both conferences r such a cluster.

Last year there were no trades from December 15th until January 1st. There were several trades the in the first week of January and a flurry the last four days before the trade deadline.

Kinda odd it's been almost a full day since the trade rumors and still nothing announced yet. I kinda wonder if Seca is currently working on multiple trades.
How do you think I feel? Things got ‘moderated’ before I even saw names. There are a few youngsters that Letang doesn’t play, might as well cut bait and bring in some culture.
I’m excited for Wednesday night’s game, but mostly for the $2 hotdogs. I have a feeling this trade is a lateral move

If the rumors were true it is nothing to be excited about. At best a minimal upgrade & some more hitting.

I don't think they'd trade Lominac already. Doherty as I said I think could be on the outs. No one else really makes sense for us or PBO really. They wouldn't want an 03 or 04.

annnnnnnnnnnnnnd this is what happens when you let the coach of the SARNIA STING(!!!) coach the national junior team.
I don't think it's fair to just blame Letang. We all knew the team was weaker than usual. Plus they had 0 luck and Rousseau had a bad game. Fact is Rousseau probably should of had all 3 goals. But at least trades should start happening pretty soon now.

Oh it's 100% fair to blame Letang. There is no such thing as a "weak" team Canada roster. I love how everyone is using that excuse this year lmao. Letang has been given two teams full of talent/star players in the last year. One in Sarnia, and one with Team Canada....It's the same result because he refuses to make adjustments when it's warranted. Same costly mistakes in Sarnia last year, just lost Canada a likely medal this year. Another feather in the cap for our fine organization!

Not a weak roster....just not good enough...those without red colored glasses had team Canada as a maybe for this tourney...not sure they would of got by the USA or Sweden no matter what today's results where

Rehkopf one of the top scoring junior players in Canada was second in scoring on the Canadian team and played about four minutes a game. I doubt you see Letang back behind the Canadian bench. Maybe in the Croatian beer league. They did out play the Checs through the 2nd and 3rd. Checs were great at deflecting passes and blocking shots. That huge Chec goalie filled the net. There wasn't any light coming through the mesh. It was totally blacked out. Guy is like a silver back gorilla with a goalie stick.

One thing I will say that concerns me though. Is the fact Canada didn't shoot the puck alot and the Sting don't shoot the puck alot. That does make me think that's a Letang influence.

im confused.... was I watching Team Canada or the Sarnia Sting.... Hire a guy who's won literally nothing in his jr coaching career with a 1970's style philosophy this is what you get.... The guy didn't even know how to properly pull a goalie yet he was allowed to coach Canada... silly.. like I said it's a boys club. Canada left numerous studs off the team for guys like Minten who isn't even a ppg player in the W.... Maybe now people will realize? After the game letang blamed the loss on bad breaks going against Canada and said last year they won because of good breaks ... lol what a sad coach.

Couldn't agree more... the only guy with NHL scoring talent continually left on the bench... Letang hates talent he'd rather play guys who finish their checks.

As an example Rehkopf makes his living shooting pucks. In this tourney he either passed off or was told to stand in front and screen the goalie. The tv gal mentioned that teams were collapsing down low against Canada and they should be using the point to drive pucks to the net. I guess hindsight is 50/50. Checs get out played and win on a lucky goal. They kept the game close where anything can happen.

letang is very close to the hunters and with al miller leaving hockey canada, the hunters are very involved in everything. i have no idea if letang is a good or bad coach, but the hunter connection is genuinely a factor.

This surprises me ..... Dale served Letang his lunch in last years playoffs and then vouched for him to coach Canada?

why not? winning or losing a playoff series doesn't take away the respect that someone has for someone else. for all we know, dale thinks letang did amazing in that series.

lol when you have far superior talent it does... No one thinks Letang did a good job in that series so it would shock me that Dale did.

letang and the hunters have been tight since letang played in the ohl, do you think that all of a sudden that changes because of a playoff series? if dale wanted to quit coaching i can pretty much promise you that letang would be their first choice. listed to mark talk about him he talks about him like hes his own son.
