Our hottest player still 3rd line???
I don't get why Sim is always the odd man out. He plays hard doesn't take dumb penalties but yet he barely plays. Meanwhile a guy like Lominac gets all kinds of chances and takes dumb penalties but he plays almost every game. I don't get it.

They roll 4 lines. I don't look much into where they are slotted. Especially the top 3 lines. They all play a good amount. Both special teams.

Gotta love this 4th line all of a sudden. Thought last weekend was their best to date & Hall scores tonight after a great hard working shift from that trio vs FLTs top line.

Love Filak returning and immediately scoring. Big block shot a bit later too.

Loved the first 10-11 minutes. Hated the final 9-10. Little to sloppy. Surzycia looking solid again so far. Not sure Martin (a rookie) knew who he was taking on there in Schneider. Hopefully that gets the boys reenergized in the 2nd.

Erie down 3-0 to Niagara after 1.

Really liked Filak in the first period. Brought the energy after being out a few games. Got the first goal, had a big block that took a chunk out of him, and had a nice diving play off a faceoff after an icing to get them out of the zone. Good to see the fourth line contribute. Hall with his first goal since late November. Doherty made a nice play at the line to keep the puck in and now has 3 PTS in his last 2.33 games. Didn't like the last half of the period. Got completely outplayed. Surzycia also started spitting out rebounds into the slot. Need to clean that up if they want to get an important victory

Flint spent a bunch of picks after selling & it's showing right now. Their older guys are taking over.

Not great tho that the 4th line has been one of if not our best line. Not been Wainwright's best game & the "vet" line of 20/15/25 have been very quiet.

Huge shift out of the 24-12-18 line to put us ahead late in the period. Omeri has had some really good shifts to & picks up an assist on the goal. Feel like Bridgewater played quite a bit that period. Letang seems to be trusting him more & more.

Surzycia playing really well again. Gotta be a bit better in the 3rd if they wanna leave this with a W.

Erie down 5-0 now. If the boys hold on they'll be 1 pt out of 7th.

Wasn't 18 out there on the goal. Letang made a switch and had Hall out there with Wainwright and Moses. He had a nice screen to cause Day to kick out the rebound on the goal. This has been a terrible effort so far though. I get that Flint is older but they just played a game a tight game against Guelph who is also older. Not really an excuse in this one. Only reason they're up is Surzycia. He's probably stopped 10 high quality chances

3rd goal wasn't 24 12 18 it was 10 24 12
10 was infront causing a ruckus key job. 18 hasn't played much last 5 mins in 2nd.
3rd line gets a goal 4th pine geta a goal and 2nd pine gets a goal.
Vet 1st line isn't doing anything to be honest need them to generate taking up alot of minutes to not contribute.
Huge game tonight its within reach need more drivers too many passengers!

What a joke of a call. Filak goes near Clattenburg after a big hit, Clattenburg drops the gloves & starts throwing punches when Filak is not trying to fight & they give Filak an instigator. Horrific.

And they tie it on the gifted PP. Absolutely gongshow the last 3 weeks from the refs. Been putrid.

Well. Got a point. Brutal call tied it but they did not play well tonight. Way to sloppy. Surzycia even looked a bit off at times. Thinking they got over excited/amped. Seemed to be a huge energy dump after going up 2-0.

Loved Bridgewater getting legit TOI tonight. Looked good. Wainwright almost did it again in OT. Kid is relentless. Line 4 probably their best line which is nice but also says a bit about the other lines.

Should be another super tight game back here. 2 back of Erie & tied with Flint. What a final stretch this will be. Onto Friday.

Not impressed with that game at all. I'm sure the coaching staff was preaching this was one of their most important games of the year and team didn't show up for half of the game. Credit to the fourth line, they're playing well lately. Thought Hall was the best of the bunch. Got his first goal since in 2.5 months and had the screen that led to the rebound on the Moses goal. Had two other good scoring opportunities too. Super disappointed in how poorly Schwindt-Sikic-Doucette played. You're the veterans, you set the standard! The bar was so low it was underneath the ice with how badly they played. Complete non-factors. Surzycia had an up and down game. I thought he could have had all three goals but he also made around 10 crucial saves. Bridgewater handled his added minutes well. He hasn't shown a lot offensively but has been solid defensively. Fischer with another good game with 1A and a +2 rating. Quietly has 4A and a +5 rating in his last three games. With our tough schedule down the stretch we need a win on Friday! The team needs to come out with a full 60 minute effort

Funny enough I thought Fischer struggled mightily. So many lazy plays. But he played a ton & looked a bit tired at times so I'll cut him some slack. Easy to forget he's 17 & being asked to carry the blue line.

Liked Omeri quite a bit. Bridgewater has defended much better than I anticipated honestly. Imagine he's playing safe just starting out.

Hall, Doherty have looked like new players the last 2 weeks. Crazy what some confidence does. Great to see. Good chance Friday's game is one we look back at come seasons end for whatever way it goes.

It's tough to get a good read on Fischer most nights. He plays so much on a bad team there's bound to be lots of good and bad plays every night.

Omeri has taken his game to a new level so being promoted to the top pair. He's been very steady back there and has found a way to get some more points by getting his shot through more.

I also tend to forget that Doherty and Hall are still 17. Hopefully they can continue to be given chances so they can become effective big middle six forwards (i.e. Sikic in last year's run)

Definitely. Fischer just needs to be more consistent with his decision making. Which comes with age. NHL camp will do him good too. He's gonna be a monster in the coming years. Not a U17 Dman in the league asked to do more with less. Has no vet Dman to help him or eat some minutes. Been really good a lot more often than poor. Especially since returning from prospects game.

If Omeri can get quicker he'll be a really solid Dman. Gives me Ritchie vibes except Ritchie was a quality skater. It'll be the thing that keeps him here or that gets him passed up on the depth chart.

Yah I was such a Doherty believer last yr but he went like 3 months doing nothing so I lost faith. Been a great 2 weeks for him. Has the speed & has a solid shot. Be great if he could have a good summer & become a solid player.

Hall I think is Way Jr. No that isn't sexy or exciting but I think he can become a solid 3C who takes faceoffs, PK, late game, plays vs top lines, plays chippy etc. on pace over a full year for about 16 points. Not great but also primarily been L4 with other rookies & started late coming off a fairly big injury.

I’m not a fan of the 3 fight rule. 5? Ok. Sure, let’s limit the kids scrapping. I’m ok with that but there’s gonna be times late in the season when teams know all your tough guys are at 3 or 4 and start taking liberties. The way they’ve been calling the instigator this year though is downright ridiculous and needs to be addressed. That was another good example tonight. That. Is not. Instigating a fight.

Yah they should've just called roughing and been done with it. Even tho Clattenburg landed 4or5 punches better than giving one guy 17 minutes of penalties for pretty much nothing. 4on4 would've been fine. Is what it is now. poor Filak just came back from a face injury and his eye is still all swollen so I doubt he wanted to get punched lol.

I would love to know exactly how much Fischer has played per game this year. It has to be around 25 minutes per game, possibly even more than that. It would be great if the league would actually provide that stat for the fans that want to know

As hard as that game wa to watch looked at times like a coach over pumped this game and young guys looked afraid to make mistakes rather than play nothing to lose hockey. In sure the staff put that on the line for them. Solid regroup is needed with no pressure. Playing tense isnt good thought kostuch was show this and also our vets. Lines again were top heavy with showing a ineffective 1st and 3rd line not sure why kostuch cant go yto line 1 and doucette can't join Wainwright with moses? I know that Water's down line 1 but is it truly a line 1? Would help make 1 fastest line in league.. just saying, our 1st line kinda is a bang line on other teams maybe hide that with an explosive 3rd with moses doucette and wainwright

lol I cannot even begin to describe how baffling it is to see Lominac continue to get thrown out there ... guy is near tops on the team in PIMS with 42 but at the bottom with 4 pts and it's not like he plays an amazing defensive game either. Im not the biggest fan of the plus/minus stat but hes a -15 which is worst on the team for for forwards and has produced a grand total of 2 goals.

Ya I don't get it. Lominac has played 15 more games then Sim but has the same amount of points. Meanwhile Sim plays hard for his size. Also Lominac has played 6-8 games in the top 6 this year plus a little PP time. And Sim has played 1.5 games of top 6 this year and 0 PP time. Also Sim has 2 pics this year and Lominac has 42. And what bugs me with Lominas's pims is that most of them are needless pims like after the whistle stuff and O zone stuff. Just seems like Letang is playing favorites here which pisses me off a little cause IMO Sim is the better player. And I feel like if we don't play him more next year we will lose him.

Could be Lominac is a Little Caesars guy and Legward is pushing it. Either way Lominac should be on the pine.

I think they both bring little offense currently but Lominac plays with more jam. Last night he laid out FLTs best Dman in Bertucci. He's willing to throw the body around. That isn't Sim' game and he's not gonna be able to show off much skill playing 8 mins on L4.

They'd also be fielding 5 16 yr olds which is a lot not to mention when Barr returns shortly. On top of that 93-10-55 seem to have found an identity of late. They've played drastically better & scored 1 last night & had multiple 2on1s.

Sim should've been sent down at the start of the yr. Thought it then. Had a couple okay weeks but hasn't made a noticeable play in months. He's to small. Especially when the intensity ramps up like it has.

Sure he's only playing 8 mins a night but he's played 15 games more of 8 mins a night but has the same amount of points as Sim. And yes the 4th line is playing better lately but it's Doherty and Hall putting up points. And yes Lominac hits a little more but he also take way more penalties then Sim. Also Lominac has taken 2 penalties in the last few games which where both needless penalties and we got scored on both times.

I'd be fine either way I just see that they want L4 to be physical & they've accepted that role. Sim is not capable of playing that way so he wouldn't mesh at all. Lominac definitely takes dumb penalties.

Hope so badly Sim grows 2-3 inches in the summer. Be so big for his future and the team.

Interested to see who starts tomorrow. Tough balance trying to get in while also developing. Be a big game for Chartier. But Surzycia been better/more consistent. Good either way I think
