On a side note Lukas Fischer was ranked 63rd on Bob McKenzie's mid-season draft ranking
Barr, Brown will definitely have NHL draft interest next year & I won't be surprised if Hurt gets some too. Be awesome if Bridgewater or Luecke can too but that's obviously TBD.Good for 13 deserves it! There should be more on the central scouting list from our team like 5 and 12 surprised they left off and others in league are on list.
We will have 13 on next years team as NHL prospect atleast. That's a Start for this rebuild.
Is 25 too old to get drafted?Totally agree could be pretty special group in future.
5 and 12 both deserve interest (12 was injured early so might have affected points and position in depth chart being stationed on 3rd line) played solid energy and 200ft game mostly on 3rd line.
5 is getting good minutes qnd bigger part of offense should be on some lists, I'd say if not would be crazy not to invite him to camps. Think both guys will come out of NHL camps next season at the least.
Another Sting prospect doing well. Is 2022 drafted D David Green who has 13g and 27a in 42 games for St Micheal's in the ojhl. Some more good nights for Sting prospects:
Evan Maillet - 33/35 saves. That pushes his save percentage up to .913 on the year
Carter Timmins - 2A. He's picking up his play lately with 9 PTS in his last 9 games
Chris Soares - 1G. His 18 goals on the season are the second most by a U18 player in the OJHL
Casey Bridgewater - 1G. He has a 1G/6A over his current four game point streak
I think anyone can get drafted until they are in their OA year.Is 25 too old to get drafted?
What about 21 and 26?
Yes after 19 they become free agents.I think anyone can get drafted until they are in their OA year.
another decent size d-man going to US college , MerrimackAnother Sting prospect doing well. Is 2022 drafted D David Green who has 13g and 27a in 42 games for St Micheal's in the ojhl.
Agree, wainwright is probably stings best 3 on 3 player but gets the bench In OT!So all throughout regulation/PPs Brown, Kostuch get consistent shifts including late but don't touch the ice in OT. Neither did Wainwright who's FAR and away their best player for 3on3. Yet Moses Way Schwindt all get multiple shifts. Jesus Christ.
Battled hard. Nice to see them go right back at an older Gue team physically. Onto a slaughter in the Soo, Sunday.
I feel like this is him just talking... he's never gonna say yah were tanking.... but you never know tho... this organization is dumb enough to think getting the 8 spot and losing to London 10-0 while losing on a lottery pick is a good thing. So I was watching Seca's interview on sting buzz last night. And he said a couple things that worry me a bit. He said there still focused on making the playoffs and they're hoping not to get a lottery pick. IMO the smarter move is to miss the playoffs and get a high end pick. There's no point making the playoffs just to get smoked 4 straight how does that help anyone all it would do is upset the players and fans even more.
Also something else he said. Is that he thinks highly of the top D in this draft. I really hope they don't focus on D when we really need offense. But picking a D would be a totally Sarnia move.
They are still "trying" to make the playoffs in Windsor. They are 9 points back with 349 winning percentage. Reality is? But they will never hint at a tank because they can't sell tickets if they are trying to lose games.End of the day when has a team ever said "yah our hope is to actually lose 95% of our games & miss so we can get a lottery pick & avoid a round 1 loss"
Teams definitely think it haha but will never say it. That's 2 extra games of revenue as well for them.
Id be shocked, legitimately shocked if they took a D high. They never take D in RD1 as is let alone when they have Barr Hurt Fischer Young Omeri Bridgewater. Especially with the glaring need up front
Yah you cannot take a d man with a top 5 pick.. you just can't ... there will be plenty of good dmen in the early 2nd and 3rd rounds.... Our second round pick will basically be a first... It's a forward run league ... I will say Oliver Bonk is probably my favourite player in the league tho.Just watched the interview as well. always appreciate Dylan's honesty. Very upfront about stuff which I like.
He definitely couldn't hide the grin about some of the Dmen in this draft. But did say there's some high end Fs at the top. Goalies not so much haha.
I'm all for rebuilding from the backend out but at this stage F is definitely the much bigger need come the draft.
