Saw Terry Doyle's tweet that Angus MacDonell went home and then led his high school to the OFSAA AAA lacrosse championship. Impressive stuff. Funny thing is that the school he beat in the final was coached by Porter Martone's dad. Lol
Not trying to rain on his parade but how is that allowed ? He attends Sarnia Northern doesn't he ?

I believe they are allowed to transfer their study’s to their hometown if they wish to do so after the season. Every student has the right to transfer schools. Lol

Sting Alumni Jamieson Rees scored the OT winner last night in game 1 of AHL Western Conference Final. There are 3 Sting Alum playing in the series between the Chicago Wolves and the Stockton Heat. Rees and Josh Jacobs play for the Wolves. Adam Ruzicka plays for the Heat. Here's the video of Rees' OT winner from last night:

God dammit we were robbed of his junior career. I haven't enjoyed watching many players on Sarnia more than him. Complete package. Elite skill, compete & could throw one helluva hit albeit sometimes dirty lol.

He would've been such a clutch playoff guy you could tell. Sucks the 1 yr we would've been good covid happened.

Article on 3rd rounder Carson Campbell. Many thought he was a steal late in round 3 & from what I've seen (games, rookie camp) I believe it. He is already an elite skater & is very good with the puck. Solid size at 6'0" as well. If we didn't have so many D I'd expect him to make the team. I think Seca & Co did a marvelous job in this draft on D.

They got 3 guys who from ppl I've talked to & read up on will definitely be solid players for us (unless they go elsewhere) in Campbell (RD3), Green (RD5) & Omeri (RD8). Even O'Toole (RD10) has some good traits to be a good defensive Dman one day.

With Daviault only being 17, MacDonald, Malyavin (?) being 18 + 3 promising prospects our Defence is looking really promising for not only this year but the following years.

Talked to a handful of guys who work for scouting services & all thought he was great value for Sarnia. Thought he'd go a bit higher because of his high end skating, good puck skills to go with he's yet to fill out (6'0", 160)

central had him as a 3-6th rounder from what i know, third seemed to be closer to the higher end of the projection

Will Doherty and Campbell play? If so, in who's spot? At last count everyone but DeGurse is coming back plus one OA (Hill or Dillingham most likely moved).

My guess is they'll both end up playing Jr. A next year unless they make a really good impression at training camp.

The OHL released the home openers for next year which revealed 3 Sting games:

Fri, Sept. 30: at Kitchener
Sat, Oct. 1: at Windsor
Fri, Oct. 7: vs. Saginaw (Sting home opener)

Both will push but Sarnia has such a logjam of players on F&D it'll be rather tough. Especially for Campbell. Doherty will be in the mix with Lalkin/McIntyre/Degelas/Harper for a spot on L4 but the B6 is already gonna be really young I wonder if they'd prefer a McIntyre for his physicality & yr of experience.

Seca has said he sees both playing games so I'm sure they'll be up & down when there's injuries, illnesses, etc. Team clearly likes both quite a bit (as do i) so I think they'll make it a point to get them solid experience throughout the year.

Kind of like Easton Wainwright and Owen MacDonald this past season.

11 days until the import draft any ideas who we should take?
Honestly no clue. Never been one to look into the prospects for the import draft ahead of time.

It'll be a bit harder this year for one because no Russians & two, it's happening before the NHL Draft so you can't talk to a team before hand to see if they'd send him your way. Hoping for a dynamic, bigger Centre.

I'm hoping for Luca Hauf which is probably a long short or Adam Sykora

Add Voit who's been invited to USA's world junior camp! Can't remember Sarnia ever having this many guys invited to separate camps/tournaments. 5 players, 2 coaches now.
Anyone find it odd that the sting mentioned Cassey but not Behrens

They did tweet it originally with just Voit then deleted it to do it w/Casey. So probably forget Casey then forgot Behrens but didn't notice lol.

There is some issues going on at Michigan (where Casey plays) with the coach. So maybe there's a chance but not holding my breath
