Since he's come over he's been pretty solid. Leads the teams in +/-. Has his limitations no doubt but when he keeps it simple he's an effective Dman.

Josh Bloom traded to North Bay along with Hislop (solid dman)

Two 2nds, three 3rds & two depth players. Another F we could've really used gone. Heck of a haul for SAG.
If we don't make a move soon we may be left behind again come on Seca

Id say yes. we've beat OS, played FLT incredibly tough, outplayed MISS, beaten WSR. When we've played the lesser teams outside GUE, (SBY, NIA, SSM) it's been pretty apparent we r far better than them.

Hopefully get healthy here & get some time to see where we stack up.

i guess, the goals for and against differential is -1, thats middle of the pack in the west.

your total recrod against flint, owen sound and windsor is 3-5?

3-4-1. They've fought inconsistency issues for sure. They've also been dealing with a number of injuries (4D being out) the last 3-4 weeks including games vs WSR, FLT, OS.

They lack dynamic talent up front. D when healthy is solid, F depth is pretty solid along with one of the best duos in the league (Voit, Burke). Gaudreau been a bit more inconsistent than anyone anticipated.

I can't see why they won't battle for the division. Windsor got off to a great start but not like they have overwhelming talent, a stout Dcore or a great goalie.

Saginaw just dealt a stud F + a solid D. FLT we'll see who they add. OS is good but might wait a yr to add. KIT & GUE been a major disappointments but KIT might turn it around. To me it's wide open right now & even despite our inconsistency & injuries we sit 4 pts back of 1st.

i think windsor and owen sound have the best shots, but i also think flint will add much more and with the picks they have added and will add from another trade im heading, will have the most bullets to fire for additions. owen sound is winning without their best goalie and missing 3/4 regulars as well. i think every team has the same issue regarding injuries and consistency to be honest with you. windsors d has been awful and their goalie has been struggling but their depth is very, very good, guys have step up.

well see i guess

Yep for sure. I'm a fan of OSs roster. If they wanna go for it they'd be a real real threat to win it all.

WSRs depth has definitely been impressive. Be interesting what they add & how much.

Insightful article. Hall had significant NCAA interest. Good on Seca to get it done. Mast is back this weekend! Dillingham out a week. Not ideal but could be worse. Hope it doesnt become a common occurrence.. Hoover is out until at least Christmas.. head injury + now has a bad illness. Poor kid. Wish him the best & hope he can recover quickly.

They are very happy with Young's first game & while he isn't expected to stay if he continues to play well he may earn a spot. Pretty excited to see him Friday. Romeo is 2-3 weeks out.

I have to agree with you ohl4life, and I hope I'm wrong. Being a long time sting fan I've seen what good and bad teams look like and the sting for me have too many holes and question marks. Every team in the league deal w bad injuries to their team and the sting are no different, after the top line the scoring really drops off, need 2-3 scoring forwards , the defence to me is average at best and I think to compete w the big boys, will need to add another quality d man. Gaudreau has looked bad and we have no proven back up. London is better, os better ,Windsor better, Flint better and even kitchener. Tough sledding for the sting ahead. I just can't see them competing, poor player management and trades have left them in a spot where they just don't have the picks to really be in any trades for the stud players. Just my opinion.

I really like the Sting's defense this year. I'm surprised to read about needing to add there. Everyone seems to have stepped up, and I figured with Hoover added you were going to roll with it.

I'm hearing rumblings of a big move this week for at forward. A couple guys in play could be Pastujov from Guelph or Harrison in Oshawa. Going other way will be picks and perhaps Max or Angus. We could use some firepower up front on second line. Would be a big boost. Stay tuned.

Oh man. I hope you're wrong about Angus, or else I've got a customized unreturnable Christmas gift under the tree.

there is getting hit with injuries and then there is getting hit with injuries strictly to your defensive core. I would love to see proof of a team who has had more injuries on the blueline at the same time than Sarnia has. We literally were playing games with two 16 year olds, a 17 year old and an OA as our defense. Not sure what the expectation was.

I like our D when healthy. They spent one game together as a whole so far this year. The issue is clearly scoring. This team does not have enough to add 2 top 6 guys and a top end D-man like many are suggesting. Especially if we want to keep guys like Martone and MacDonnell.

I'm thinking that Moldenhauer isn't coming & trading those picks away to Guelph isn't a big deal because we will be getting those picks back from Ottawa. Also we signed those 3 young guys recently that look like they will fit right in with the Sting.

Well if they are planning to make a run I would assume the cupboard will be very empty when done. I think they should've sold this year while having a few guys to retrieve something in return. If they did they would be set up to make a huge run in 2 years. Not these runs when the cupboard doesn't have the means to aquire all that will be needed for a true run for a memorial cup.
