Disappointed we let Friday's game get away, but must say I am very pleased with how our defence played this weekend, especially given who's out. In both games I'd say they kept SAG&GUE to single digit scoring chances & were perfect on the PK.

Daviault, MacDonald, Campbell (and Young today) going into this season combined had 84 OHL games played. They are being asked to play significant minutes that they aren't fully ready for (especially MacDonald, Campbell, Young) & even Daviault while im a huge fan of his, he's only 17 & has limitations. Usually 1st or 2nd year D only play this many minutes if they are incredibly highly touted & even they have rough moments.

Realistically if we were healthy the first 3 wouldn't even be in the lineup & Daviault would be sheltered a bit more on pair 3 while he still develops, improves his weaknesses. Instead they are all playing 20+ minutes & Daviault probably 25.

They did a great job this weekend & while id rather it not be happening this is fantastic experience for them, especially Campbell who's still only 16 until June.

Up front I absolutely loved the play of line 3 (Namestnikov, Wainwright, Filak) this weekend. They hemmed both teams in a lot, used their speed a ton, created chances, drew penalties & chipped in with 1G & 4A on the weekend. If they can do that consistently it could be an incredibly effective 3rd line.

Tough couple weeks upcoming with 6 games (WSR, BAR, OSH, MIS, SAG FLT) in 9 days. Fingers crossed Mast & Hoover can heal up & get back in there to help out the boys who gotta be getting a bit tired on the backend.

Have you heard anything more on Hoover? Does it sound like it's a short term injury or a long term injury?

Fricken awesome for Burke!! Not a more deserving a guy. Last yr at camp I thought he was a mediocre forward that would be released or traded.

The improvements he's had are remarkable & a testament to his work ethic.

You saw how much he means to us just in those 2 games he was sspd. Voit wasn't nearly as impactful or dangerous without him.

Awesome stuff.

The Athletic did a "way to early 2025 NHL draft." They had Martone 5th. They wrote-

Martone is an easy player to imagine becoming a good NHL player. He’s a big winger who skates well, has very good puck skills and good enough vision to make plays at higher levels. He has a direct style of play that will translate well to the pros.

Hello all. I'd appreciate a little info on tickets.

I'll be doing an OHL trip this weekend and I'll be at your arena on Friday. The website for tickets and I aren't cooperating very well. LOL. It's no big deal if the game isn't going to be a sellout-I'll just buy a ticket at the arena on Friday.

Is there any chance that the game will sell out? Thanks in advance for your help!

About a 0% chance it'll be a sellout haha. Those only happen about 3 times a yr here & mid November isn't one.

Hope u enjoy your stay!

What you want to do is buy the cheap $15 ticket in the "fan zone" then you can go ahead and choose from the 3000 other purple seats that will be empty lol.

Appreciate the info. Will buy one at the box office-$15 fan zone cheapie!

Had a chance to watch Ty Voit play in Windsor a few weeks ago-it'll be interesting to see how his pro career goes.

Looking forward to seeing the arena and your city. Thanks again!

Sting did a even/gathering at booster juice tonight. Entire team was there except Hoover.

Bodes well for Mast. Unfortunate for Hoover though as it must be a pretty bad concussion which sucks.

Sting currently have 9 D signed on the roster. When everyone gets back healthy, there will have to be some serious decisions to make.

I imagine Young goes back to Wellington. I'd send Campbell to the Legionnaires to play big minutes then run with the returning 6 + Hoover (Mast, Hoover, Dillingham, Daviault, Ritchie, Romeo, MacDonald) if all are healthy.

Mast-Dillingham
Ritchie-Hoover/Romeo
Daviault-Romeo/Hoover
MacDonald

Would be my pairs. Romeo/Hoover interchangeable. Give each pair some size, physicality along with a puck mover.

Sting sign 4th round pick Carson Hall
It says in the paper he will remain with the Huskies but they expect him to be in a Sting uniform within the coming weeks. With the addition of Young on the blueline I think they will make a trade & at least move out a dman.

My guess is we'll see Hall here when Voit and Vilmanis are off at World Junior camps.

Since he's come over he's been pretty solid. Leads the teams in +/-. Has his limitations no doubt but when he keeps it simple he's an effective Dman.

Josh Bloom traded to North Bay along with Hislop (solid dman)

Two 2nds, three 3rds & two depth players. Another F we could've really used gone. Heck of a haul for SAG.
