I got the chance to take in the game live today. Good game. Was really impressed by Doucette. Drew a penalty, had a few good scoring chances, and used his speed well. Martone doesn't look out of place at all. Really liked the play of lines 2, 3, and 4. One thing that was a bit concerning was that the team seemed reluctant to finish checks on the forecheck. Gaudreau didn't have to do much today. Made big stops when the Sting needed him to. Great to see him have a good weekend after struggling to start the season. Refs weren't that good and lost control at the end when Hamilton starts taking runs at people but overall a good game. Great weekend for the team!

Missed the last 5 mins yesterday and just rewatched. I guess Hamilton doesn’t take losing very well. What a gong show at the end. It’s shameful you can’t hit someone anymore in hockey without having to deal with some idiot (Hayes) wanting to fight you. I wonder if McKee got any sleep last night? Looking like he took the L pretty hard at the end there. 🤡

Score was close but the game really wasn’t. The Hamilton goalie was sensational and gave his team every opportunity to get back into it. This could have been a 5-1 or 6-1 hockey game pretty easily.

Gotta be happy with the team defensive play. Limited shots and opportunities all game. Didn’t really give the bulldogs too many quality sniffs around the net. Great job closing the game out and staying cool, calm and collected while Hamilton was having a hissy fit the last few mins. Good stuff.

Weekend sweep was expected and they pulled through. Let’s get er going.

Wonder if we might see one of these guys a chance in the lineup while Martone is off at the U17s.
Wouldn't mind it. Speaking of Martone it sounds like Wyatt Johnston & Shane Wright are gonna stay in the NHL.

If that's the case there isn't anybody else in the league I'd even discuss trading Porter for.

Could also make the case without those guys Voit is a top 3-5 F in the league.

So funny because listening to the hamilton announcers at the end of the game they made it seem like hamilton had tones of shots and scoring chances and outplayed us and they said if it wasn’t for gaudreau playing great it would of been hamilton coming out on top. I laughed pretty hard when the announcer said that lol. Gotta love some of the absolute home super fan announcers in the league lol.

I would assume is would be Doherty.

Voit is 100% top 3 player in this league. He’s the only “elite” forward on this team and frankly he carry’s some of the other forwards stats. I’d love to see how many more points Voit would get if they brought in another top forward with high end skill for the top 6 and top powerplay unit.

I think there's a 99% chance Johnston won't be back. But i still think there's a good chance Wright will be sent back considering the Kraken are hardly playing him at all he's sat out 4-5 games so far and when they are playing him it's on the 3rd or 4th line

Good game for the guys on the Legionnaires tonight in a 7-6 OTW.

Doherty 2G/1A, Priddle 3A, Degelas 2A.
Another good day for this trio in a 7-4 win.

Priddle 3A, Degelas 2G, Doherty 1A.

After only 4G/4A in 44 games last year Priddle (2021 11th) has 7G/14A in 18 games this year. Leads the team.

Degelas has 9G/6A in 18 games. Doherty 6G/6A in 12 games.

Sarnia should think about sending Campbell there once Dillingham returns. Big fan of his upside & he's shown pretty well, but let him play 20+ mins a night on a Legionnaires team that seems much improved, especially since Doherty's arrival (7-3-2)

Awesome to see from Priddle. He was always sort of a timid kid growing up. Not surprised to see him producing now that he’s more comfortable and has his feet wet. Good to see he didn’t waste the opportunity and things are shaping up nicely for him. Would love to see him get a look at some point if he continues his strong play with the legionnaires. Still gotta think Doherty or Degelas get looks first tho.

Thought I'd share this here too. I don't think by season's end he'll be our 1C, but how big was the addition of Lantz.

Without him we'd be absolutely screwed down the middle, especially with Namestnikov's & Sikic's slow start.

He definitely benefits from the Voit bump offensively, but hes such a smart, reliable player for Letang. Elite on draws, backchecks hard, good on the PK, been good in the slot on the PP & is a good passer who compliments 86&96 well.

He'll be a real important player come playoffs for all those little things he does well.

Nice post by the Sting, I've rather enjoyed his play since joining the team. Adds a nice element to the squad. I really hope degelas gets called up. I have a good feeling about him and his potential with the big club.

He has a lot of things to like. Always been a passer, but at camp he was scoring a lot & now with the Legionnaires he's scoring at a higher rate. Seems like he worked on his shot quite a bit.

I think the only thing holding him back is his pace of play. If he could up that even just a bit I think he'd be up with us full-time.

Moldenhauer has committed to Michigan
Swiiiiiiiiiing & a miss. Lol. Sucks. Worthwhile gamble but it hurts we can't use those picks now. Unless somewhere in the negotiations they agreed if he committed they could but I doubt that's even allowed.

So what all did we give up,and what are we getting back? We don't lose all the picks obviously...right?

All the picks were conditional except a 15th, so no worries there. Sarnia two 2nds, three 3rds, a 4th and a 5th back. Happy shopping!

I think I read in a previous post that those picks are still committed to Ottawa until he is ineligible. For example, Sarnia can't use those picks held for Moldenhauer to trade for someone this year at the deadline.

thats correct, if you commit to trading the 2024 2nd to ottawa, you can't trade it until the condition is exhausted.

So let me get this straight. We have 5 draft picks sitting in no man’s land that we cannot touch til next year? What a cluster f**k!

This team needs to add. They do not have enough goals in the line up to contend. Look at our goal differential then look at other top teams. Not gonna cut it.

I swear to god if this team does nothing else and we get ousted in the first or second round……..

I wonder if teams can make a side deal to change the conditions? For example, now that it doesn’t look like he’s reporting, Sarnia sends a 2026 3rd rounder and in exchange, the conditional picks are immediately sent back.

Wow, ok. So at some point Seca must've been pretty sure he'd commit otherwise why would he hog tie all those picks up in a year when we are "suppose" to be going for it. Dumb.

From all accounts he had planned on going OHL until covid happened then he had second thoughts. Imagine when we traded for him he was still undecided but with it being his draft yr he probably wanted absolute certainty he'd play & the OHL couldn't give that.

Toronto being the team to draft him was worst case scenario as TOR & the Steel are very close.

I'm not mad they tried it as it was exactly what they needed (1C)/dynamic player, but it certainly hurts now we can't use any of those picks in a trade. Luckily got a good amount in Thornton/Dann trades.
