Good stuff in the 3rd. Their best pd by far. 0 points for the top line on 6 goals. Exactly what I wanted to see from their other 3 lines.

Loved L2/L3/L4s game. They outworked SBY all game. Wouldn't be denied. Great pass by Martone for MacDonell's hatty. Sucks 22&15 didn't get points because they deserved some. Same with Wainwright.

Arguably Gaudreau's best game. Looked totally locked in. Some big stops. Hoover was a stud. 2 points, GWG, +3 vs his former club.

Way's best game for us too. He was really good I thought. Nice assist & had 2 other chances.

What did I say about Hoover when the trade happened. He was suspended for 2 games and Sarnia loses both. Comes in tonight and low and behold gets the game winner plus an an apple and a 3rd star. On top of that doesn't take any crap on the ice. Good deal eh!!!

Has his limitations, but when he plays smart he's a very effective Dman. He can deliver one helluva hit.

He has shown some flare offensively too lol. Was funny I was watching SBYs bench on the way by after Hoover's goal & he looked at the guy beside him and went "wait was that Hoovy!?!?!" He couldn't believe he scored that nice of a goal haha.

Good combination of your depth and goaltending winning you a hockey game when your big guys take a night off offensively. We will take it!

The more I see Hoover, the more I like him. Great game by him tonight. What a snipe on his first. He brings an edge to this team. I like it.

let’s hope this was MacDonnells coming out party and he starts potting more consistently. Monster game by him. He deserves that 2nd goal after some of the bounces he’s had this year lol. He and Martone looking like they have some chemistry brewing. Wainwright did a lot for them that doesn’t show on the stat sheet…the +3 looks good tho!

The power play needs to improve immediately. Under 20% is well below where we should be. Shoot the damn puck.

The guy is built like a brick .... house and yes can deliver massive hits and will throw them. Our GM wouldn't know what's good for his team when it hits him smack in the face. Would of dealt Anania or Robinson before losing Hoover! The guys is someone you want on your side going into the playoffs. Its part of a puzzle you look to add. Good for him and the Sting you got one on Sudbury.

I look forward to having him & Dillingham in the lineup together. Players on the other team best keep their heads up!!

Owen MacDonald was also good tonight I thought. +3. Couple big blocks. Wainwright's speed is such a weapon. He has the D backing up everytime he gets it. MacDonell can wheel too.

Thought Namestnikov was fantastic. That line as a whole was good. Need more finish but they dominated puck possession. Vilmanis has a great shot the boy just needs to hit the net!!! Lol.

See if we can get the weekend sweep tomorrow.

Namestnikov WAS fantastic tonight. By far his best game of the season. I’ve never been a big fan of his but he was really good tonight.
I’m not sure he and Vilmanis belong on the same line though. They just don’t play the same kind of hockey. They are keeping their house clean defensively though.
Daviault frustrates me. A liability in his own end.
Everyone else awesome tonight.

Good game, was able to watch the whole game for once! What a gift that second Mac goal was, horrible play by Ranger lol Nice effort by the boys tonight!

What the heck is up with Daviault? His game is not projecting upwards. He is making way too many bad decisions with the puck and looks like he's sulking when he is on for a goal against. Staring back at the goalie when you take a -1 doesn't look good

Hey, a Friday night win! Good vibe in the building. Good to see lines 2-4 stepping up. Happy for Hoover against his old team. MacDonell scores in bunches and throws punches so watch out. He and Martone look good together but need another centreman as Wainwright can skate but has limited vision and usually takes puck into traffic. Sikic maybe, to get him going.
Ben was back to form in net and if he can repeat this game, the buzz will be happy. Hammer time on Saturday.

I didnt think Daviault or Ritchie played well, but I don't think he's is a liability. He's still a young defenceman. Only has 70 games played in the league & he's logging big minutes on our backend. Gonna have his mistakes, errors but all young D do.

He is definitely an emotional player & he needs to work on keeping that in check. He entertains the post whistle, chirping stuff a bit to much. Wears his emotions on his sleeves for everyone to see & that has it's positives & negatives.

Both he & Ritchie need to be quicker with the puck. They try to do to much at times & it gets them in real trouble. They both have the skill to do fancy things but they gotta pick their spots better. I think they'd be better separated but with Dilly out might have to wait for that.

Something that's been fantastic to see is even though he's had just rotten luck putting the puck in, Martone has unbelievable energy on the ice & on the bench.

It would be very easy for him to be pouting, frustrated & pressing to hard, especially as a rookie but he continues to work his tail off, be solid defensively & has had some great assists.

He was more happy than MacDonell was for that hat trick goal. Can tell his teammates love his attitude. Once one goes in for him I think a bunch will.

Daviault for me hasn't shown too much, yet. I see glimpses of skill but he turns the puck over way too much. Coach Letang and Co need to coach him up and get him to simplify his game.

Love Macs game, what a solid pick he was. Also Martone is solid also 👌

Sounds like Porter is just like his dad, Mike.
Mike was a Dman, played with the Petes 94-98, won an OHL championship in 97 and was captain in 98.

Dylan Grover gets the surprise start today. Gaudreau not even dressed. Hopefully this was planned & nothing is up with Gaudreau.. He did take a fairly forceful stick to the head last night from MacDonald.

And nevermind haha. Sting tweeted the wrong lineup sheet. Gaudreau in net.

According to the sting lineup Gaudreau is starting

Thank goodness for the Burke goal. Sarnia had so many glorious chances & were somehow down 1-0. Sweet shot, nice pass & a nice play by Mast to start it all off to go into the intermission tied.

Lines 2&3 are absolutely buzzing. So frustrating the lack of finish Sikic & Vilmanis have had. Each are getting grade A looks consistently but not converting. 5on5 though loving our game.

We really controlled play that period. Hamilton fortunate to only be down one. Not sure they had more than one legitimate scoring chance.

Doucette is flying out there. Great to see Sikic rewarded with a PPG. Namestnikov continues his strong play. Big 3rd upcoming.

We should be winning by 3-4 goals. Where’s the finish? Jeeeez. Thank god we got that 5 on 3. Love the forecheck tonight, we are getting looks….but man…you gotta finish!!!!
It's maddening eh. They can put it on teams badly, but they'll only come away with 1 goal, sometimes 0.

As you said this should probably be 4-1/5-1 & we'd be confident about the W. Instead just a 1 shot game.

Good solid road win to sweep the weekend & make it 3 in a row! Absolutely loved the play of our 2nd, 3rd & 4th lines this weekend. Said it going in I wanted to see them outplay their counterparts & they did. Defensively they were fantastic today. only 21 shots allowed including 4 in the 2nd & only 6 in the 3rd.

Gaudreau was a rock on the weekend stopping 47 of 50. Looked much more like the guy we've come to rely on. Thought all the D played well today. Played much more simple & were very effective. Ritchie put on a clinic a few times & nearly scored the lacrosse goal! Romeo was great too in his return to HAM. Was a one man wrecking crew. Mast has really come into his own this season. He's a stud.

Voit after an off night responds with 3 assists. Thought Lantz played his best game in awhile. 2A & had a number of good backchecks denying chances. Sikic was also really good this weekend on the back check & he gets the gwg today. Namestnikov's best weekend of the season imo. more of that please, Max.

MacDonell 4 goals in 24 hours puts him at 7 in only 12 games. We've all said it but if he can start cashing in more often.. Kid gets 5 chances a game with his determination & speed. Really liked Way & Doucette this weekend. Great down low, good blocks, chipped in offensively.

HAM commentary was hilarious at the end there. Not a fan of the end of game stuff but was pretty obvious they were a very, very frustrated bunch. All in all, great weekend! 7-4-1 puts us 3rd in the conference (2nd most points) 4 back of 1st Windsor who's yet to lose in regulation.
