Thanks to everyone for taking time out of their day to vote for Annie. It's an amazing amount of support from people I've never actually met (but hope to in the future). Annie is very grateful, she had a smile when reading your posts last night.

4th player signed from the draft class. I liked Chartier quite a bit at camp. Looked like a goalie with some solid promise/potential. Good size, good positionally & moved well in the net. I'm a really big fan of our goalie coach, Franky Palazzese & the work he's done since coming on so this should help Chartier work with him during the season while he plays for Burlington.

This is interesting
I wouldn't read to much into it. He's staying with Burlington for now. They like his upside & probably just wanted to get it done now. If we are comfortably in a playoff spot later in the season maybe he will get a game in like they did with Fazio, Langevin a few years back just to get him the experience.

I just find it odd that now we have 4 signed goalies because according to Seca Grovers still going to be around so why would you sign Chartier especially when he's only played 2 games why would you give him games late in the year and not Grover and Surzycia unless you are going to trade one or both and get a better backup at some point and then give Chartier games later in the year

Four signed goalies is too much. One will be moved or released.

Speaking of goaltenders how’s Taya Currie been? Did she ever come to camp?

No. She didn't come to camp. She's playing in the OWHL with the Bluewater Hawks. There was a report that she committed to Providence College but I don't know if that's confirmed.

There's got to be a trade or release coming because I'm pretty sure your only allowed 25 signed players and with the Chartier signing that gives us 26. And yes players in junior B count towards your signed players for example Doherty and Grover still count as signed players even though there not with the team

you can have as many signed as you want, its cards thats the issue and this guy wont ever make it to an a card unless a few injuries happen

it is an odd signing thou, what happened now vs 2 months ago? i doubt there was any ncaa interest in a u18 goalie in burlington. whats the rush, unless they already are giving up on the grover kid they signed early last year.

I don’t think they gave up on him, he had a good camp and then got hurt, he got sent down to junior B with the strathroy rockets to get playing time in and the first game he played with them he had really good stats. Also the stings other back up goalie’s right are now held by the strathroy rockets. So I’d imagine which ever one is backing up for the sting the other will be starting for Strathroy and they will both practise with the sting all year

i dont know if any team needs four goalies signed i guess is what everyone is confused about. the kid they just signed would have been at camp next year in theory they could have signed him then if he was that good.

its just odd is all

Slow news week, other than a fourth goaltender signed. So here's a crazy thought.
What do you think the odds are that the Sting's deadline move / big splash is the signing of Moldenhauer or Cooksey....discuss. Might not even be possible, not sure of the logistics.

Won't be Cooksey. Moldenhauer would definitely be a huge add & fill their 1C need, but Toronto & the Chicago Steel are tight. Doubt he leaves there unfortunately.

Wouldn't get your hopes up for Perreault either. Recently did an interview where he said he's been visiting schools & will choose between one soon. Said he considered OHL, especially Sarnia because of Jacob playing here. Sucks.

Windsor in my opinion is the team to beat in the west this year, I think it will be between them and Flint. If we can show well against those two I feel there's a chance.

I'm surprised how good they've been. I didn't think they'd suck by any means, but they lost a ton.

They are playing a fair bit of run & gun & that usually catches up to you but it's working for them. If Johnston is back they'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Flint will definitely be an issue. Not a lot of holes on that roster. Alot will rely on Cranley though who's been iffy.

Watch out for Kitchener. Started slow but have an elite goalie now, Mesar may very well be the best F in the league to go with a lot of good, solid Fs. They'll be adding at the deadline.

Still think highly of OS but they might be a yr away. Still not a team you'll wanna see come April.

I don’t think London is going to be a true contender but the hunters have them back on track, brochu is turning his game around, Mailloux is back in action and a point per game, and then picking up Diaco was huge for their struggling offence.

Yeah Kitchener needs to be put back near the top of the contention list. It’s amazing what a player or two can do for a team. I had them high before Mesar committing. They were under performing no doubt. The true contenders start to become clear after 20-25 games. Good on Windsor but I’m not sure if their current run is sustainable. Who knows though. Johnston is making it near impossible for Dallas to send him back but as StingUpdates said, if he does come back, look out. Windsor could easily add another piece or two and really become true contenders. I think OS plays it smart and waits for next year, but they can beat anyone on any given night so who knows with them. Flint is obvious and will only get better. Saginaw will come back down to earth but be really annoying. Guelph, I just don’t see it, not currently at least. London is never out and can add very quickly if they wanted. Wouldn’t be surprised if Wright comes back and Hunters are just like “f@$k it” and trade for Wright. Pretty sure they have a nice stock pile of picks to pull it off.

We 100% would need to add 2 bodies. We only have 4 guys playing like true top 6 forwards. Need that big time centremen for sure. We could get away with just 1 forward if Sikic, Namestnikov, MacDonnell or Wainwright could get it together consistently. Not sure if we add to the D core or not. If someone like a Mallioux became available, that could be pretty tempting. Be a huge addition to the power play. Was hoping for some more offense from our backend then what we’ve seen so far.

Too many teams on the edge right now. Tough to see where things are heading!

Feels like it's been forever but finally a game day. Sudbury is one of the younger teams (4th youngest to be exact) & have struggled out the gate. Have a dynamic top line but not a ton of depth. They've especially struggled on the special teams sitting bottom 5 in each.

Really wanna see the other lines produce vs teams (SBY, HAM) that aren't as deep. Sikic/Max gotta play like they did vs NIA. Hopefully Vilmanis builds on his best weekend to date. Feel like Martone finally finds the net this weekend. He's so due.

Above all else I wanna see some consistency. If you wanna be taken serious you cant have duds every other weekend. Time to string together some Ws.

No Filak tonight. Took that cheap, dirty cross check at the end of NIAs game. Hopefully nothing serious.

Classic Sting “success formula”. Gaudreau (who is having a Gaudreau game) keeps them alive with stellar saves, Sting outhustle everyone in the offensive zone, then a brief collapse to let the other guys back in the game.
Too much fancy stuff by the last man back, but otherwise nice offensive period.

Ugly hockey. Yeesh. What a goal by Hoover tho!
Yup that's the Wolves!!! Ugly hockey. Line juggling every game. No structure with lines and defence pairings always changing chasing around in their end. Coverage is awful. Makes for ugly hockey!!! Worst coach in the league!

WJ

btw I I miss Hoover!

I’m starting to feel sorry for Max. He can’t buy a goal right now. Some rough puck luck. He should have 2 already tonight.
Martone the same... I mean Jesus christ he's gotta have 20 chances with no goals.

More ugly hockey. Gotta clean it up. Top lines been horrendous tonight. Loving the other 3 lines. Way & Doucette have been real good on L4.
