Really hope we hold on to Martone. Just watching a replay of the sting versus greyhounds game, man that was a solid hit Hoover had in the first period! I'm really liking that pickup by Seca, brings an element of the game that we didn't really have much of and makes the other team think twice when he's on the ice.

It's cool they are linking up with the college & doing all the prizes/auctions etc, but why the heck would they do it on a Wednesday.

Be lucky if there's 2,300 in attendance. Should've been done on Friday vs Windsor.

He has some things to work on, but with how good of a job Letang & Co have done with Romeo I'm confident he'll work on the things that need work (quicker decisions being the main one) & be a really solid Dman for us.

He's a true pest. Always looking for big hits & always letting the other team know he's coming at them. The Soo looked sick & tired of him by games end.

Definitely early on the trade talk of Namestnikov. I just feel like he can figure his shit out on the 3rd or 4th line because there are a few others who would make an immediate impact in his place. Letang did say guys will have to earn their spot. Don’t think you can argue that Max has earned a top 6 spot after 4 games. Guys need to stay hungry for ice time.

I really like Wainwright. I feel like he should be playing more minutes than what he gets. But it really is through no fault of his own. Like @StingUpdates said, if I’m a GM looking to get some young talent and picks in a trade, Wainwright could work out wonderfully. He deserves better than 4th line mins and Sting management should do right by the player and give him that opportunity for growth else where, in a more prominent role. That Ang example is a good one.

Agree that Martone and MacDonnell are untouchable unless it’s elite superstar quality player. League may be lacking on those though. 20 games in is a key point as far as direction in my opinion. Let’s see what they can do in that time period.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the big “party” night for Lambton students at the “den” is usually on Wednesdays. Might be trying to encourage students to go to the game instead of the bar on campus?

I agree wainwright is good and could use more ice time but if he’s doesn’t get it this year he will 100% get it the next two years in the top 6. He might want to stay in sarnia if the team goes on a run in playoffs, then play top 6 minutes the next 2/3 seasons after.

Encouraging sign for Sarnia/Gaudreau is they released a video post-game where the team does a "mvp" of the game amongst the players & Gaudreau was the recent one so he chooses who gets it & he gave a mini speech & chose Voit.

Doubt if he was banged up (especially anything head related) he'd be doing that. Also, I'm loving how tight the team appears to be on/off the ice.

It can get boring, but Seca always says they prioritize character people when acquiring them & seems like they have done so well. Every player interview I hear guys love the room, atmosphere etc.

Usually leaving Sarnia is a good thing, but boy do I feel for Dann. Niagara is a disaster.

Maybe we should call them & see if they'll give him back for a 5th like they just did with Papais lol.
Gave up Alec leanard a 2nd and a 3rd for Gerard keane. It’s like one minute they are taking a step to go for it by getting a couple older vets then they would get rid of a couple vets for picks or a younger player. It’s like they don’t know which direction you hey should go or they don’t have a clear direction. Just making moves all over the place lol.

I see Rees, Ruzicka and Hayden Hodgson made the opening day roster for Carolina, Calgary and Philly, respectively.
Of course the usual bunch of ex-Sting still in the bigs, but for these 3, big congrats on getting there on hopefully a permanent basis.
Never would have thought Hodgson had a chance but obviously he’s worked on his game and found a place.

Hodgson turned into a completely different player once he got dealt to Saginaw. Good for him. Figured it was only a matter of time until Rees got the call. Ruzicka has the size and skill set, but does he have the motor to stay in the show? Congrats too all 3 either way. Good stuff.

It's great to see. Should be a year of milestones for Stammer too. Gonna get 500Gs, 500As, 1000 Points & if he stays healthy 1000 games.

So happy after those injury riddles years he's back to dominating. I fully believe if not for those injuries he'd be right there with Ovechkin for best scorer of the last 15 years.

Big game tonight. OS is going to come out firing you'd think, especially after a crappy weekend. These mid-week games seem tough to get into for everyone, especially if you are the travelling team.

I just want to see some consistency from the team. Full 60 or near to. Sarnia was brutal for getting down early last year. That will HAVE to change if they are to be taken seriously as possible contenders this year.

Let's see if Sarnia has learned their lesson after the ass whopping by Saginaw after two quick wins to start the year. I know we rebounded well vs SSM but I think the biggest indicator of how well this team will do, will be it's ability to string together more than 2-3 wins at a time.

I took a peek at OS posts; looks like they’re missing a few players. Need a good game from 70 and good work ethic from the rest.
OS always pretty physical, so keep the heads up boys!!

Papais is looking like he will make his OS debut in Sarnia tonight. Good boost for them. I can see this one coming down to goaltending.

Excited for this one. Should be a great game. Last season Owen Sound threw us around so I hope Letang reminds them of that. Come out looking to prove a point that it won't happen again. Hopefully the PP can build off Sunday's great outing. Unlike last year they have the talent to be a top unit in this league.

Be great if Namestnikov could find the back of the net & get rolling. Martone as well but I feel he's been real close a number of times. He's due. Another good test for our Dcore which has been excellent. Also, be good to string together some home wins.

Not going in expecting a W but to start 4-1 with wins over KIT, WSR, OS would be a real nice way to start the year!

He plays much harder than he did when he was with the sting. Isn’t nearly as lazy either. Both huge improvements in his game. Not sure if it was the AHL coaching staff getting on him about that or Darryl Sutter last year, maybe both.

good for him, i know the family a bit and i know he gave up a pretty promising baseball career to give hockey a go.

I think Rob was talking about Ruzicka. But the same things sort of apply to Hodgson too haha.

As a Sting & Flyers fan I really enjoyed watching Hodgson last year. Hopefully he can stick full-time this season.

Gotta just stay out of the box. Couple real silly penalties that cost 1. Big 2 man advantage to start the 2nd here….

Great period just could not BUY a bounce. 2 posts, missed multiple open nets. Keep pressing boys. Loving the PP puck movement
