I find it odd how the sting sent Surzycia to junior B but Gaudreau hasn't been officially sent back yet makes me wonder if they know he will be back by Friday night or maybe we're looking for a more expiernced backup which I'm kinda hoping is the case because if we want to contend I don't think Grover is the way to go considering we maybe losing Gaudreau to world junior camp + world juniors and I don't feel comfortable leaving it to Grover that long
Agree but maybe Sting should have maybe been in on getting the goalie that Niagara just sent to Windsor.

My hope would be Medina because I'm pretty sure u can have 3 OAs plus an OA goalie. Windsor now has 4 goalies and 2 r OAs and it sounds like Medina is the odd man out I think he would be good with Gaudreau he's not a starter but he a good backup option plus lots of experience going to the OHL finals last year

Honestly was thinking that after I saw the return. He also fights inconsistencies but way more upside than Grover.

I'm willing to give Grover 5-6 starts. If it ain't working go get a backup.

The OA goalie rule hasn't become a thing yet so Medina would still count against the 3 OAs.

Just seen some pictures from sting practise just now. Voit , mast, Romeo, limpar-lantz and Vilmanis were all skating. Also Surzycia was in net, his rights were acquired by strathroy but he hasn’t been sent down yet, I’m sure he will once gaudreau gets back tho.

Also the Sting will be rocking Kel-Gor stickers on the side of their helmets this year. I’m sure the entire league will be wearing a different sponsor on their helmets like the NHL.

Watching Leafs vs Habs pregame hounoring the '72 Summit Series & former Sting player Kam White is there representing his dad Bill White.Didn't realize his dad played for Team Canada in this series.

Gaudreau isn’t on the sharks roster anymore maybe he got sent back? They have like 6 goalies still on their roster but he isn’t anymore. Also the sharks only had 5 preseason games and they played their third game last night. I’d imagine the last two games will be for Reiner and dell to get their reps in. I think gaudreau could be in the line up this weekend if he gets back today.

He’s back on Sting ice today already!

Gonna be a full lineup for both squads tomorrow! Should be a great game. Gonna be a bit sloppy I'd imagine as both teams had a lot of guys away at camps & are still trying to find lines/pairs they like.

I'm hoping for a split this weekend. Both teams look good, both home openers so fired up. Then next weekend bit easier w/SAG & SSM.

Well, it's finally game day! Have high expectations for this club, but know they have some limitations up front. Really intrigued to see the lines but more so who is in & who is out on D. I'd personally run the 6 returnees, but Campbell showed very well in pre-season & I doubt they got Hoover just to play whenever there are injuries.

Let's hope this is a rare season to remember for this organization lead by maybe the best goalie we've had the chance of watching play in a Sting uniform.

Lines tonight:
Burke-Lantz-Voit
Sikic-Namestnikov-Vilmanis
MacDonell-Filak-McIntyre
Doucette-Wainwright-Martone

Mast-Romeo
Dillingham-Ritchie
Daviault-Campbell

Gaudreau starts

I'm happy with these. Lantz will be a good 2way guy for the top line. That 2nd line could be really good if they click. 3rd line should be a great energy/spark line. 4th line good potential. Not sure about Romeo top pair, but that's a ton of size, length for Fs to deal with so I see the logic. Hopefully both keep it simple. Props to Campbell who as a 16 yr old earned a spot on the opening night roster in a position that looked filled.

He may have been their top d-man in the series. Very very underated!

Sikic is playing centre and namestnikov is on his wing on that line. Love the forward lines. They are going abit bigger up the middle which they 100% should. No team has ever been successful running centreman that are all 5’10 and under lol. Not a big fan of the defence pairs. Don’t like the thought of daviault and campbell as a pair defensively. Also not a fan of mast and Romeo together. Let’s see how it goes tho. I’m sure will lines and pairs will change a couple times in the next couple of week.

I like the size in the middle as well, just worried about Sikic's motor. Pretty balanced looking lines all together. This should be a great game. Let's see what we got! Gaudreau will be the factor.

Gotta get Mast off PP1. It just does not make sense to have him there over a much more offensively gifted Ritchie. Such a head scratcher. Agree about 5 on 5 play. Little sloppy but it's expected this early. Damn, Lantz has hands too.

How about this 4th line!! LOVE it! Was a sloppy period for us up to that point. Great play by Martone to get his first point on MacDonell's goal.

5on5 D so far has been excellent. Only 11 shots allowed vs a skilled team. Close this out boys & start the yr off right.

I liked the last 5 mins of that period. Give lines 3 and 4 the reigns for the 3rd. They earned it, they deserve it and we are winning because of their efforts. Imagine if lines 1 and 2 would wake up.

I think L2 has been good. Vilmanis & Sikic have had multiple great looks. Namestnikov skating really hard. Line 1 definitely asleep lol.

Let's go!! What a way to start off! Only negative is Dillingham going down. Fingers crossed it minor, but this is why they got Hoover as depth.

We asked for line one & we got it lmao. Boys came to play tonight. Winning every battle, crisp passes, driving the net etc. D has been fantastic.
