It’s Guryev. It was beyond dumb, completely uncalled for and he’ll rightfully get suspended. It IS one of the good reasons why the instigator rule is dumb and if there’s a guy that doesn’t deserve that kind of BS, it’s Ty Voit. There are VERY VERY few guys in the league that will or want any part of Artem in reality though and Del Mastro is actually one of those few. Now. Watch the view from the end boards though. I’ve seen Noah Bushnell hit his teammates harder than that in warmups. Literally. You have too. If you think that was Guryev putting anything really into that hit, you’re mistaken. I assure with 100% certainty Ty Voit wouldn’t have been taking part in the kiddie skate afterwards if Guryev was really trying to lay him out. Every single game we watch dudes try to goad Guryev into stuff. Jabbing, running their mouths and getting tough from behind the linesman after the whistle. It gets old. I know. I remember. It’s where the game is now because of the instigator and it’s sad. Same with not being able to ensure the safety of guys like Voit and Pastujov and I’d have to watch the game again but I HIGHLY doubt Ty has at any point this season been that dude being a punk with Guryev. He’s gonna be gone for awhile but watching him this year….I doubt SJ signs him and any Sting that want a crack at him will probably get a shot next year.

When the hit is unexpected and the player being hit does not see it coming or ready to brace for it, it really does not matter how hard the hit is. Voit was completely defenseless and Guryev knew exactly what he was doing. You don't get suspended as many times as he has for nothing. You make it seem like we should feel bad for Guryev because he gets "goaded" into stuff. Maybe he needs to work on his self control and anger issues then idk. If he wants let some steam out, do it to someone who isn't 6 inches shorter and 50 lbs lighter. I could name at least 3 Sting players who would have no issue going toe to toe with him. It's funny because you make the argument that others chirp at him and then hide behind the linesmen....well that's exactly where Guryev was when several Sting players were trying to get at him.

You pointed out early in the first he was being a dumb***. I don’t doubt it. That’s who he is. He’s also the guy everybody avoids. can name 18 Sting players who had the chance to have a go and didn’t. They waited until the linesman was there before “trying” to get at him.

Let’s just end this argument, he obviously hit a player after the player scored a goal. The player was not expecting the hit at all (no player is after they score) and he went out of his way to hit him (tones of time to make a decision and not him), because of that there will be a suspension regardless of how hard he hit him. He is a repeat offender so he will likely get extra games rightfully so. After the hit the refs were right at guryev before guys like del mastro could get to him. I’m damn sure if Anderson was playing he would love a go at him.

Very tough weekend ahead. No easy game. Saginaw has really found a groove since we beat them a few weeks back.

After next week (ldn/wsr) our schedule becomes very easy. Almost gonna be a shock to the system not playing other elite teams lol.

See if they can manage to go 3-2 vs ldn x2, wsr, nb, Sag. Just gotta play our game & do it for a full 60.

Back at it with another Friday night at the Bud in London! Taking in the game with a rival fan and long time buddy @GoKnightsGo44. I should mention that historically, every time Sarnia/London plays and we watch the game together, Sarnia usually comes out on top. Hoping history repeats itself tonight ;) I'll never forget the devastation on @GoKnightsGo44 face when Goldobin single handily ruined London's 24(?) game win streak way back. Gotta take the small victories when you're a Sting fan lol.

Big game tonight. Big weekend in general as StingUpdates was saying. Saginaw a little too close for comfort in the standings. They got NB tonight then us tomorrow...would be nice to create a bit of space with a few W's this weekend. Won't be easy with London and NB on tap for us. Sting would love a sweep but realistically, a 2/3 weekend would be acceptable.

Go Sting! :bee:

Easily one of the sickest goals in Sting history. What hands Goldobin had.

Hoover returns. Won't take him long to introduce himself to LDN lol. Anderson out again so maybe he's slightly banged up?

See what the boys got tonight!

I still think they are going with 7 defenceman to work those depth defenceman into the rotation, I think they are going with 7 d tonight because Fischer has played so well and Hoover might not be ready for a regular shift…just slowly getting him some reps and getting him up to speed. I really think they need to send campbell to the legionnaires to get lots of minutes. Probably send either Macdonald or young down too.

Good first 10 minutes.. since the TV timeout yikes. The heck are we doing. Move your feet.

Summary of that pd. When we skated good things happened! When we stood around bad things happened.

Sting need to get going also need to learn to score 5 on 5 vs the knights. Can’t rely on powerplay goals.

I said this last week, but LDN never stops moving. It makes them so tough to defend. So when you aren't moving your feet they eat you alive.

Can't take shifts off.

Great line change putting 36 to L1. They are absolutely buzzing & have 2 big goals.

Kyrou having a whale of a game so far.

Gaudreau saving their ASS tonight. He's been outstanding. What a BS call at the end. Crane slashes 77 so he slashes him back & he gets the only penalty. Ridiculous.

Have gone into the 3rd with a lead in all 3 games lately vs LDN. Will they let this one slip too or close it like the first meeting?

Gotta be alot sharper. Garbage call costs them tying goal. Catch a break as that's clearly offside.

Worst game of Del Mastro's tenure here. The heck is he doing. Such a bad, needless penalty. So many uncharacteristic mistakes tonight by some of our vets on D.

This is maybe the worst game 18, 74 & 77 have played all yr & all on the same night. Not been pretty.

Got a point, but it was not our best effort tonight. Puck management was the worst I've seen it since the deadline. To lackadaisical at times.

Impressive to still get a point not playing anywhere near their best vs an elite team but they very easily could've won all 3 games vs ldn lately & that's frustrating.

Gaudreau was sensational. Maybe his best start this yr. He was legit under siege at times.

Voit needs to be better in these games. He's been invisible vs LDN & that can't happen. Even his SO attempt looked terrible. Has to find ways to produce. Props to Brochu who mad some 10 bell saves to keep it 3-2 then in OT to save the game for them

4/6 points in the 3 games ain't bad by any means & we all would've taken it, but definitely feel like they've let some Ws slip away

Onto SAG who lost to NB tonight.

Can't hold leads lol, that's two games in a row against London where Sarnia blew a 3rd period lead. Regardless this Sarnia team looks pretty good, and I think would demolish the Spitfires in the second round as it appears that will be a likely 2nd round matchup.

Started watching about midway through the second and I could tell the team was nowhere close to its best tonight. Whole team seemed off. They couldn't complete routine passes and Del Mastro was taking boneheaded penalties all night. Thankfully, Gaudreau has really found his groove lately. He stole us a point tonight. Next step for this team is not just playing in tight games against top teams but actually beating teams like London and Ottawa

Sarnia had no business even getting a point so let’s just be thankful we got one. Better team won tonight. End of story.
Most definitely. As @SarniaStingFan said we just seemed off all game. So many routine plays we almost always make they were screwing up on. Bad, undisciplined penalties which they never take.

Just weren't all there. Props to LDN who never stopped pushing. Fantastic goalie battle.

Is great to see Ben get us a point & almost the W. He looked dialed in all night & has been terrific since returning.

Windsor finally hitting a rut. LDN rolling again. Very well may go 1 LDN 2 WSR 3 SAR. Would mean we see WSR RD2 (barring a choke)

Can't say I prefer it. Ik WSR is struggling but that firepower is a bit intimidating. Feel we are right there w/ldn. Be an epicly close series (which my heart probably couldn't take haha)

See how we matchup with the Spits next week.

If the Spitfires play like they did this weekend in a series with Sarnia it would be a Sarnia sweep, although would obviously have Sobolev and Wright back by then. For real though, Sarnia is just as good as London Windsor, wouldn't surprise me if Sarnia went to the finals.

Yah what's up with Wright? He's in & he's out so often. Hope he's alright.

All 3 can take it IMO. Whoever goalie gets hot may decide it

Savard stated it was a 'bit of load management' which is ridiculous. Sound like it's Seattle dictating what happens. We got ripped off on that trade if Seattle gets to choose when he plays and when he sits.

I look at Sarnia and Windsor and on paper, they should be a league above London. It’s crazy how London always seems to get the best out of their players. They have no real superstars but still, ALWAYS find a way. Mind boggling sometimes lol
