Sarnia Sting 2022-23 Season Thread (Part 2)

32 games left in regular season… I’m hoping to see 22-24 wins along the way. If we see that, then I think we have something here. Any less and I’d be a little concerned heading into the playoffs.
I know it’s early and new teammates may not gel immediately, but this weekend will speak volumes as to what’s ahead.

Real tough schedule with their longest road trips. I was hoping for 20, but definitely fair to want more. Be great if we could hit 40 wins (would take 22 Ws)

Really changed up the lines. I don't hate the F ones at all. Pasta with DBB could be sick. Not an overly big fan of the D pairs though. I'd rather Kyrou not play opposing teams top pair.

Glad they kept double L with Voit & Burke. IMO that has worked very well. LL is just a solid 2-way guy who lets the other two get creative.
Vilmanis will be awesome vs other teams 3rd line.

Yah I definitely don't mind them. Have a solid defensive presence on each line. Creates 3 good scoring lines. Hopefully doesn't take to long for lines 2&3 to get on the same page.

22 wins is appropriate based off the remaining schedule. Don’t think there should be much more wiggle room than that after what we just spent to assemble the roster we have. 22 wins shouldn’t be an issue if this team is legit.

Sluggish start (25 minute delay we'll blame that on) but loved our game in those final 10-12 minutes. Great puck possession & passing, especially in the O-zone. The 2nd line is absolutely buzzing. 77-61 pair was everywhere. Gaudreau really sharp which you love to see. keep it going & I like our chances.

Good first period. Petes are a physical bunch. The Sting controlled the play after the Petes PP early in the period. That was a great first PK. DelBelBelluz was out there which is another added bonus to that big trade. Didn't know he was a PK guy. Big save by Gaudreau at the end of the period on Beck

Well that's frustrating. Playing well but down 2 now.

I cant believe that decision!! I understand wanting two good PPs but hes gotta be on unit one. Good lord! But great play by him to get us back in it.

Another pretty solid period. Didn't give up much of anything past the 1st goal & 1or2 other plays. Vs an elite F unit like PBOs you take that everyday of the week.

Line 2 continues to dominate. Need line 1 to get going here. Nothing Ben could do on those 2 goals. Still been sharp. See if they can manage at least a point out of this, they deserve it so far.

I think the one rang off his helmet, but yah still somewhat new gear so might not be fully broken in. Hopefully fixes that, but very happy with him so far. Simpson been fantastic for PBO.

Would like to see more of Filak. He's good in these games. Been playing Way more who hasn't been bad, but more than likely isn't gonna score, Although I do like the potential of him & Anderson for the 4th line. Two big dudes who can eat clock, cycle & hit.

Just running 11&7. They seem to like doing that. With so many extra D maybe just trying to keep everybody engaged. Also lets them double shift Voit, Burke, Pastujov which can help get a few more goals for the B6.

Hoover going down hurts though. We aren't a team loaded on physicality but he's one who is. Fingers crossed it's not anything to do with a concussion again.
