Sarnia GM and management is making no sense. I could live with the trades up to trading off Martone and MacDonnell. U dont trade of franchise player like Martone. The Sting season boils down to goaltending. If they are hot, we had all the defense we needed without Del Mastro. Way too big of price for a 3 month rental. If the goaltending is not hot, the top 8 defensemen in the OHL wouldnt save us. Wow and the Dann trade. Wont go there. Doesn't matter, Sting are going to be brutal to watch over the next few years and wont be able to figure out why the fans arent showing up.

What a wild couple of weeks & months really. One of the craziest years for trades I can remember. Here's how I see WSR, LDN, SAR, OS, FLT, KIT, SAG lineups. Apologies from other boards if I get ur lines wrong. Will make another post my thoughts on each lineup (don't want this to be an entire page itself lmao)

George-Mailloux
Edward-Bonk
Dickinson-Leonard

Brochu/Bowen

KIT:
Arcuri-Pinell-Mesar
Martin-Zhilkin-Sop
Valade-Rehkopf-Swick
Misaljevic-Morey-Bottineau

Moore-Schmidt
Hamara-Brzustewicz
Andonovskiy-Motew

Constantinni/Vandenberg

FLT:
Giroux-Lombardi-Pitre
Piercey-Kressler-Hayes
Pitre-Hay-Dann
Slavicek-Bradshaw-Pitters

Kuzmin-Bertucci
Deline-Guryev
Smith-Stojkov

Cranley/Day

OS:
Goure-Petrovsky-Barlow
Lawrence-Guindon-Burroughs
Bryant-Papais-Hookey
Brennan-Cormier-Stewart

Petrovskiy-Sedley
Seed-Sawyer

Chenard/Votary

SAG:
Misa-Haight-Loukos
Willis-Sapovaliv-Mangone
McNamara-Hill-Sima
Moore-Gervais-Storch

Mancini-Smith
Parekh-Forgione
Savard-Guo

Lennox/Oke

SAR:
Voit-DelBelBelluz-Burke
Pastujov-Filak-Sikic
Vilmanis-Lantz-Wainwright
Doucette-Way-Anderson

Del Mastro-Mast
Ritchie-Kyrou
Dillingham-Hoover

Gaudreau/Surzcyia
Not gunna lie if we plan on going on a long gruelling playoff run the forward depth simply scares me. Couple other teams that have better 3rd and 4th lines than us. Which you need in playoffs. I’m not convinced our top 6 is the most skilled. Maybe our top 4. Big drop after that. Vilmanis and limpar-lantz need to find the next gear. I think our deep playoff run relies on our bottom 6 depth and Gaudreau.

I agree. I think our top-8 is good. Sikic being your 8th best F is solid. Just needed one more 20-ish goal guy to have 3 perfectly balanced lines & keeping Wainwright on L4 keeps it semi solid for a 4th line. If any of their top guys get hurt it could become a problem no doubt. Will have to hope we get some luck there.

I think our T6 is up there. Voit leads the league. Pastujov had he not missed time would be top 5-7 in points. Burke would be top 5-7 in goals if he didn't get hurt. DelBelBelluz is 75+ PT F. Vilmanis is close to PPG in his 1st yr & hasn't had consistent line mates all season. Filak & Lantz both on pace for 50-55 points. I do think WSRs Fs are just a notch above. Can 100% count on their guys while we hope Vilmanis, Filak, Lantz produce. I am optimistic about it though as all 3 are really solid players.

I will say though, don't discount our production from the backend. Kyrou is the 2nd best point producing Dman in the league. Del Mastro is a point-per game & both Mast & Ritchie are on near 40 point paces. There won't be many D-cores with more production from their backend. That should really help boost our depth scoring.

I feel the same as you Massey. But, Im Going to reserve further negative commentary till whatever happens in the playoffs. You do have to think that Seca may or will be let go if this ships goes down prematurely. Anyways hoping the best for this version of the sting and for our loyal fan base!

We need to savor & enjoy these next 40+ games because I decided to do a mock lineup for next year & 😬😬😬😬😬

We ain't winning 20 games. Gonna be the worst team (at least on paper) we've had in quite awhile.

Get this years team to at least the West final and make it one hell of a series and I’ll gladly suffer through another 5 year rebuild lol
I don't know about 5 if we lose in the west final.. Maybe if its OHL final haha. But I can stomach a 2 year ass kicking if we win 2 rounds. While it's a low bar (an extremely low bar..) it would be history for us. I'll say we aren't as f*cked as it looks on the surface when it comes to picks.

We don't have much this year, but do have 1, 2 & 4. Next year we get back our 2 & 3 then in 2025 we get back our 2, 3, 4 (Moldenhauer.) Hopefully, next season get some extra 3s, 4s, 5s for Sikic, Vilmanis, Filak, & Gaudreau (?)

Still in for a doozy of a rebuild don't get me wrong lol just not as bad on picks as it looks. Scouts, Seca will have some work to do to try & find some hidden gems somewhere in the draft.

Top 3 lines I'd put together to offer the best balance and scoring threat:
Burke - Lantz - Voit
Vilmanis - LDBBL - Pastajov
Wainwright - Filak - Sikic

Limpar Lantz did have success to start the season w that pair and that 2nd line would be awesome if Vilmanis can play is natural wing.

Don't mind those either! They have a lot of versatility in how to split it all up. Be fun to see which lines & pairs work the best over time.

Be interesting to see the PP set ups too. Have a ton of options for that as well. Good thing is after this road trip we only play twice in the following 11 days. Both at home. Be great to really hammer in some chemistry & work on whatever they need to before things really ramp up.

MOLDENHAUER REPORTS TO SARNIA

…..would be very surprising.
It’s a good thing Ottawa is holding on to those picks for Sarnia, like a parent would for an irresponsible child, or you know they’d be gone right now.

Nah if Mouldy did not report with the team you have this year he's not reporting next year when you're in a full rebuild. Those picks are going back to you unless the leafs want him in the O. If he does come you likely only owe us 2/4 picks at this point as they were on a sliding scale and you can likely recoup them with extra with a trade as Toronto would want him on a contender imo.

Can't wait for our game sunday!!

It has always been said that Gabriel Perreault was expected to join the Sting next season when they originally drafted him 2 years ago.

Craig Button had him ranked 14th in his recent draft mock. I knew he was good but not that good!! How bout u come NOW, Gabe!!!! Haha

It'll be interesting. Will he still wanna come when he takes a look at how bad we'll be?

Depends on what NHL team drafts him. They will likely dictate a large part on where he ends up. Let's just hope it's not Minnesota lol

If he came over that would be sick. He could come over this season for a playoff run, hop right on the second line and improve our top 9. Then we could trade him for a bunch of picks next season so he doesn’t have to play on a terrible team.

Won't play a better top-6 than what we'll see tomorrow in Peterborough.

Othmann-Beck-Hayes
Avon-Lockhart-Robertson

Potentially six 30 goal scorers. Gonna be a huge test for our defense, Gaudreau & our Fs to backcheck as hard as they did vs WSR last week.

Hopefully Gaudreau isn't to rusty considering he's only played 2 games since DEC 20th. Be huge for his confidence to have a good start vs such a lethal team. Should be a great game.

17 NHL prospects playing in the game. Should be a lot of fun and a good test for the team

StingAlum are thriving in the NHL right now. Kyrou, Konecny are offensive leaders on their teams & are on an absolute tear right now.

Ruzicka has stuck for the Flames & is making an impact. Chychrun is doing great on lowly Arizona. DeAngelo doing fairly well on Philly. Zacha having his best season & playing big minutes on Boston.

And that Stamkos guy is as good as ever.

The team will probably add 8-10 new players.
Hall, Green, Omeri, O'Toole, Chartier & my rookie camp favorite Durham should all compete for a spot. Degelas, Priddle from prior draft & hopefully, Perreault.

New import & 3 kids from 2023 draft. Maybe a UFA signing or two if they can find another some. Don't sleep on Aidan Long either. 3rd Round U18 pick from last year. Having a big yr in Alberta. Not sure his intentions but he looks like a kid with some good potential

According to the observer Carey Price also spoke to Gaudreau during the WJCs. That had to be massive for Ben who's favorite goalie was/is Price.

Responded well with a shutout. Hopefully he can keep it going tonight. Gonna have to shake off some rust so hopefully the boys don't allow anything to hard early on.

If we get the Gaudreau we expected & have seen in glimpses before this team will be special.
