Everything just felt a bit out of wack. With 93 going out the B6 was FAR less effective. Just no rhythm. Then Dilly goes out & Young is playing & doesn't have much chemistry with the others. Lose 77 for 17 minutes then Fischer for 5.

Then so much PK time & as Burke said post-game they never got into their pace, flow. Until OT at least.

Had all the makings of a loss honestly. But good teams find a way & they did. 100% gotta be more disciplined. A few of those penalties were horrendous IQ plays. GUEs PP is close to breaking thru & if they hand them 6-7 opportunities a game one game they will pocket 3-4.

Yah man don't make them so long. Ain't nobody wanna read all that..... (being sarcastic i write novels) 😂😂
Hey, I learned from the best

Big wake-up call for the boys that they are in a Series . Guelph outworked the Sting for most of the game and probably deserved a better fate . If that continues then this Series is going to go the distance .
Hopefully the reffing is going to improve for the rest of the series because it was hugely inconsistent in this game . In the playoffs the fans deserve way better than that .
Congratulations to 73 for a very good game and getting a couple of goals 👍. Having said that it would be nice to see the occasional pass on those 2 on 1 chances .
Good to hear from you Jwalk….it’s been a minute.

Props to GUE though. Much better effort. Was a league wide thing that teams who dropped G1 came back MUCH tougher today.

OS-LDN went to OT, OSH lost 3-2 to OTT. HAM leading early vs BAR.

Took one of their better shots while not playing anywhere near our best & still got a W. Hopefully, review some stuff & come in Tuesday with some killer instinct. Hoover may be able to return & that would soften 18 going out. Gonna guess he gets 3-4 games.

I don’t think he gets any more then 2 games. Hit happened right in front of me. May have looked bad but Dilly hardly grazed the Guelph players head. Still made contact and is an obvious penalty. Funny thing is the refs didn’t call it initially. No injury or anything on the play so that will factor into it.

It's just a bad looking play. Elbow, hits only head. The guy did return, but he left later which makes you (really) question the concussion protocol work.

Regular season I'd expect a good number. Honestly not sure in playoffs. It genuinely wouldn't shock me if he got 5 games or 2 games.

Beautiful flop by Namestnikov who's done it 3 times today. Phantom head check on Anderson. Meanwhile blatant interference on Filak, obvious high stick on Pastujov not called. Missed a high stick on Del mastro. Slash that broke 36s stick. Been atrocious.

Not to mention giving Ritchie unsportsmanlike in a playoff game for saying "f* k off". How many strides are you allowed to take, too? McFarlane came from center to hit Voit.
Ritchie deserved his penalty. The team has to learn to keep their mouths shut. coaches on different occasions gave the players sh@# on the bench. Stupid penalities just about cost them the game and the momentum of the series. Del Mastro fight was a terrible decision on his part. Someone should have waited and got him the next shift. Guelph will take that trade off every game. Ref was terrible but also missed some on the Sting although more misses against sarnia than guelph..So were the linesmen. Sure hope OHL reviews these refs. hope the Sting can get control those emotions. 2-0 heading to Guelph is a good start. Frustrating Dillingham's check. he deserves a few games, clearly his hit did go after the head.

It felt like someone was being kicked out of every face off lol. That 1 offside call on Vilmanis was so bad. Just not a great day for the stripes.

It's been weird because they were the most disciplined team the entire season. Idk if a bigger, louder crowd has made them more aggresive/reckless or what but no doubt gotta cut them down.

Maybe the adrenaline surges won't be as bad, being in a visitor arena and being somewhat in control . Maybe Dilly gets a couple games , hopefully Hoover is good to go and he will definitely cause the Storm players to be looking for him when they have the puck. How can Anderson even get a fair look on a check when he's 6-7 inches taller than some of the Storm Smurf's?

Small prospect update. Nathan Omeri (D, 2022 8th rounder) & his team (Hamilton) are in the conference finals vs Caledonia. Up 3-0 in the series. He has 1G/2A in the 3 games. Has 10 points in 13 playoff games.

Leads his team in points from the backend & is the highest scoring '06 D in the playoffs. Was recently named to the all-rookie team.

Karsen Chartier's season came to an end recently. He had a terrific season w/Burlington. He's with the team now & practicing with them which should do good for his development.

Game 1 - pure dominance, nothing else needs to be said.... game 2 - I didn't get a chance to watch but was following the box score. Seemed like it was a combination of Sarnia being undisciplined and bad refs.... at one point half way through the game I think Guelph already had 7 power plays.... The old Sarnia teams lose that game. Up 2-0 in a great spot moving forward........ Also, Windsor. I hate to toot my own horn here but ive been saying for awhile now that they're not it. Wright is a good player but he ain't it either. Windsor still could win that series but damn. Outside of 2 or 3 players Windsor is a below average team. I haven't looked at the box scores but im sure Wright got his couple of points to make the stat lines look good.

Ya refs and penalties were bad, I don’t think sarnia compete level was there until halfway through the third period. They weren’t winning foot races and getting beat to loose pucks most of the night. Guelph looked hungrier and were hungrier and it almost cost the sting. Sting have all the talent with the puck but they definitely need to compete much hard when they don’t have it. I also agree about windsor they are good but I don’t think they are great and don’t have any stability in net. But you also have to take into account on paper Kitchener is a top 4 team in this conference with a champ goalie in net. They just might be blossoming now in playoffs.

To be fair to them they are dealing with a few injuries, suspensions & from reading their board a few guys are playing thru some injuries they maybe wouldn't be if they were a healthy team.

But they always had holes/weaknesses. Their defensive zone play has been suspect all yr. Their goaltending in 2023 has been below average. Do they have enough grinders/board work guys in their T9?

As mentioned, Kitchener also looks fantastic. It took 68 games but they look like everyone thought they would. Series is a long way from over though.

The more I've thought about yesterday's game the better I feel about it. That had every aspect to a Guelph win.

Lantz out threw the B6 off, Dilly going out throws off our D rotations, Del Mastro misses an entire period, Fischer fights so we go down to 4D, one being Young (low-key maybe lucky we ran 11/7), Gaudreau allowed the worst goal he's given up in weeks if not months.

GUE spent 20 minutes on the PP which totally threw us out of sync 5on5 & kept our best guys stapled to the bench.

Don't get me wrong I'm right there with u guys that if we play like that in Guelph & take as many penalties as we have we will be leaving there tied at 2, but that's a devastating loss for GUE & one frankly they should've won & completely let slip away.

This team hasn't strung poor outings back to back since the Northern trip. Match their intensity (intelligently) early because u know they'll come out hot, back at home in a must-win & we'll be fine.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Lots of valuable lessons should have been learned from Sunday’s game. Move your feet and keep your head.
Hope Marcus is back Tuesday - he’s the guy who makes L3 click.
And, oh yeah, 2 wins - 14 to go.

There's no way around it. It was a brutal hit. He tried to avoid our guy while being able to hit there's & totally screwed it.

Never been sspd before. Regular season I'd guess 8. Playoffs I'm guessing 3-4. Indefinite also can sound worse than it could be as others have gotten that & only gotten 3-4 (Guryev on Voit as example)

How did Ethan do when he dropped the mitts? Thanks
I'd say the punches were about 20-0 for Del Mastro haha. Obviously he had a big size advantage which helps, but he got the other guy in a bad spot early & let them go until he put him down to the ice.

But props to the GUE guy cause if 77 was skating at me wanting to fight I'd be hopping off for a line change in record speed lmao

See what G3 brings! Gotta match their intensity early as they'll come out desperate. Do that & I like our chances.

No Lantz again. Hoover still not ready yet. Interesting decision to be made on D. I'm not sure u pair Young & Fischer together, but do u put Fischer (a 16 yr old) in the top-4?

I think you play them and limit their ice time, play them against their 3rd and 4th lines preferably start them in the offensive zone draws. Should be fine if they play hard and keep things simple then get off. Top 4 are going to have to play lots. The Sting HAVE to stay out of the box today!! No dumb/lazy/retaliatory penalties. It’s uncalled for. The team also has to be way more hungry and quick on loose pucks and win those puck battles. Go Sting Go! 🐝

Definitely gotta play smart. T4 D will play enough as is. Don't want half of it being on the PK.

Unfortunate MacDonald suffered whatever injury he did. Been a long absence for him. He's not flashy, but I've always appreciated his game. Think he would have been good for playoff hockey & how it plays.

Hoover is made for playoff hockey, too so it sucks he simply can't catch a break. I know Seca said they are hopeful he plays soon.
