good play by the boys, need to do our best to stay out of the box even though the refs have been horrendous. Kyrou took a bone head penalty and he needs to play abit safer and not be so risky defensively if he continues it will definitely bite us in the ass.

LFG!!! An absolute masterpiece defensively. Not sure GUE had 10 shots 5on5.

The bottom-6 was superb. Spent the entire night in their end. Especially L3. Vilmanis.. just ridiculous. Very few have gotten the crowd to react like that without it being a goal.

PK was excellent, PP had its moments but also over passed at times. Think we hit 4-5 posts which didn't help (+ 2 overturned goals)..

Gotta love Captain, Dillingham. Sets the tone with a snipe then lays a HUGE hit + fight in the 2nd. Played such a strong game especially on PK.

Exactly what they needed to come out & do! Set the tone. Now bring that same energy Sunday.

Best Sting crowd I have been apart of. Absolutely brilliant. I got chills when the 'Benny' chants started. F*cking amazing.

Started serenading Leaver at the end. Good wave got going + constant noise & energy.

Had to think for a minute if I was still in Sarnia! Haha. 50/50 got up to nearly 14K, too!! What a night at the hive.

1 win - 15 to go.
It’s only one win but the lads played one helluva game.
Ben needs to be, and was, the best player on the ice.
Every line and every defense pairing just worked hard and did their job. Just match that 15 more times and we’re gonna have a lot of fun.

When Ben is dialed in man is it fun to watch. I'm not sure there's a shot that could've beat him tonight.

No better way to break in a new set of pads than your first playoff shutout! Not to mention the crowd chanting his name. That must've been such a sweet feeling.

Also, Sting were entering & going off from the zamboni entrance. I know they were aiming for the new dressing room to be ready for playoffs. Might have done it.

Great game from the team tonight. Everyone was clicking. Really cool to see captain Dillingham get the first goal of the playoffs. Ben held it down in goal all night long, very controlled in net. His biggest saves of the night came on Guelph's 3rd PP. He made a couple nice saves before Burke came out of the box and scored. Great game from Sandis tonight. His hands were on full display, made a couple nice dekes to setup the Limpar-Lantz goal. The play in the 3rd where Sandis danced around the entire Guelph team was insane. Good to see the PP get going in the 3rd. Definitely not their best game but still went 2/6. The passing play between Kyrou, Voit, and DBB on the fourth goal was beautiful. Was great to see Vilmanis get rewarded for his play with the goal late. Only criticism I have is of the discipline. Took a couple stupid penalties tonight and gave Guelph too many PP opportunities. Thankfully, the PK was great and went 6/6. Awesome crowd tonight! Was just watching on TV but you could hear the noise on the broadcast and it was really awesome to hear the 'Benny' chants. Now time to keep the foot down, play a great game on Sunday, and take a stranglehold of this series

Ya mast and especially kyrou both had dumb penalty’s. It looks like the stings new dressing room is done because on their instagram page it showed them celebrating in it. Be nice if they would post the finished product.

We are weeks away from it even potentially happening (April 21/22), but stuff like tonight & the new dressing room is how you recruit kids.

You draft someone & they are on the fence about OHL vs US route & you bring them (along with the other draft picks) to see a playoff game with that type of crowd & a brand new dressing room, facilities + the still new scoreboard, ribbon (and how improved there in game experience, video work is).. that'll leave a tremendous impression on them, there parents, agent etc.

Not to mention this team has a ton of kids who will play pro hockey if not NHL hockey. They speak rather glowingly of the coaching staff already. Word travels fast if players enjoy & thrive under certain coaches. Especially with their NHL experience.

Let's hope this staff + Seca & his assistants, scouts are just getting started. Time to stop being a damn laughing stock (and yes ik we will likely be atrocious next yr lol). No reason we can't be at the very least in tier 2 in this league haha. Border city, nice arena (especially with the upgrades), attached to a college which has had great work done to it & coaches with NHL experience, connections + very well known connected & ambitious owners.

What a way to kick things off! Sting dummied Guelph in every aspect of the game. We could have easily had 4-5 more goals. 4-5 cross bars/post and I don’t know how Doucettes goal didn’t count… replay says it’s a goal. That would have been all 4 lines scoring a goal if it counted. Vilmanis is so good. What a show he puts on. BENNY with the shutout! Absolutely love to see that. Couple big time saves, he played so confident and poised. So many more positives to mention but I’m beat and slightly intoxicated. Can’t wait for Sunday!

I couldn't believe it was overturned either. His mom or sister was there (hard to tell she was across the ice from me) & she was overjoyed when he scored. High-fiving everyone around her. She was going thru it during the long (to long) delay. Felt so bad went it was disallowed lol.

That line deserved it, too. Thought Anderson was awesome in the game as was Lantz who is always in the right spot.

Vilmanis is ridiculous. I think Florida got an absolute steal with this kid. Still only 18. He adds 10-15 more pounds of muscle... christ almighty.

Definitely nice how they have the new dressing area done for playoffs for this team, they deserved to experience it! But yes I agree these crowds, new dressing room area and the arena enhancements will definitely help recruit. If Perrault comes next season I wouldn’t be surprised if they get two more to report that will make us able to fight for a 7 or 8 spot.

This & the Benny chants definitely were the best moments of game 1. Just a sweet sequence. Also hilarious they weren't calling the obvious high-stick on Burke, but whatever. 86 showed off just how fast he is a few times. Crazy how much he's improved at it

Just over 200 tickets left for tomorrow's game!

.

So rarely do our fans ever show great emotion, but how awesome was this last night. Could not be happier for Ben who had (still does) SO many doubters.

Been lights out since returning. 1 goal allowed in 3 of his last 4 starts combined.

Awesome to hear that. Sarnia’s broadcast audio for crowd noise is really low so it’s always hard to hear anything from the crowd. Can’t wait to come down tomorrow for it. Gonna be another sell out by then!

Holy cow, Kitchener wins both games in Windsor. The Spits look totally flustered & frustrated.

Definitely not counting them out though. Prideful group they have.

My guess is they go to Onuska for GM3. What do you think?
Probably. Gotta do something. I find they to often put the blame on their goalie when their structure is the issue.

A lot of open, un-checked guys. Do need a big save at a big time though & Constantini has been clutch.

Dioncio returning will be huge.

For sure that will be huge. But from looking at the +/- it looks like they're big boys need to play better. Maggio a -6, Harrison a -4, Christopoulos a -2, and Wright a -2. We'll see, they still have time to turn that series around

Another big crowd expected today. Boys gotta be ready for GUE to come out hot. Gonna be a desperate as no way they wanna go down 2-0.

Line 2 generated a ton G1 & had no luck. Think we see them step up today. Hopefully, we see a similar effort defensively & can be a bit more discipline.

Let's have some more fun :bee::bee::bee:

Play the exact same game, but more disciplined and we should be fine. We had alot of penalties last game (mostly due to the ref) but mast and kyrou both took dumb unneeded penalties.
