Lantz not listed on the lineup sheet. Hopefully that's just a typo. He played awesome G1 & that line has been terrific lately. Does so much for the team down the middle.
Have to be way more disciplined too. Guelph is going to take extra pokes today but you have to not retaliate and give them PPs. That was a bad penalty by Fischer mid period. You can grab the guy but don't give him a shot up high. Unfortunately, I think you're right about Dillingham. Wouldn't be surprised if he's suspended for both games in Guelph. Very rare from him, he hits a lot but they're always clean. Hopefully, McKenzie is OKThat's a bad hit by Dilly. Gonna get games. Comical how guys can do ANYTHING to Del Mastro & not get called.
Boys gotta calm down.

Beautiful flop by Namestnikov who's done it 3 times today. Phantom head check on Anderson. Meanwhile blatant interference on Filak, obvious high stick on Pastujov not called. Missed a high stick on Del mastro. Slash that broke 36s stick. Been atrocious. The Mast hooking was ridiculous.
Will be nice to get Del Mastro back at the 7 minute mark or so. Running out of Dmen
Btw I’d be pissed if I was the sting on that instigator call on del Mastro. Who cares if del Mastro asked him to fight, McFarlane dropped his stick first and the gloves dropped at the same time and they squared up. Seemed to me like that fight was mutual. Its not like del Mastro skated at him with his gloves off and grabbed him and forced him to fight like 98% of instigator penalties.
Exactly! I always thought an instigator was one guy dropping the gloves and skating after a guy and forcing him to fight (almost jumping him)That's always been a pet peeve of mine. If they mutually drop 'em, don't call the instigator. Every fight is going to have SOMEONE ask and/or start it. When was the last time two guys just looked at each other, read the others minds, and then went mutually?
Yah man don't make them so long. Ain't nobody wanna read all that..... (being sarcastic i write novels)Good win today, glad to get the 2-0 series lead but I'm very concerned with the discipline of this team. This may not cost the team this series but it will later on if they continue taking bad penalties. The team looked off their game the entire afternoon. Fischer looked like a 16yr old for the first time this season. He was taking dumb penalties all game long, especially the fight! You have to know you're down to 5D you can't go down to 4 for five minutes. Didn't like Del Mastro going after McFarlane either. McFarlane should have gotten a penalty but you can't negate a PP fighting him. Plus Del Mastro is gone for 17 minutes with Dillingham already being out of the game. Glad the PK is great, going 7/8 again today but if you play some disciplined hockey this series could be done soon. If not, Guelph is going to take a couple games. Sorry for the long rant
He's a unicorn. Absolute freak of nature. It remains Comical how he simply can not draw a penalty. I think a guy could 2 hand him in the face & the stick break & he'd get the penalty. As much as I liked Del Mastro sticking up for Voit, we really need that guy on the ice, particularly with Dillingham gone. I was counting the minutes until his 17 was done. He is an absolute monster defensively. I don’t recall ever seeing someone that dominant on the blue line.
Can confirm that Limpar-Lantz was/is ill. Really threw off the lines tonight. Then once Dilly got ejected things really started to slow down for us. We definitely did not play our game. Guelph came out skating from the get go so Sarnia had to work for this one. Good teams find a way to win despite all the other shit that goes on in a game (top 3 worst officiated games I’ve seen), and in the end the better team won. Don’t think Guelph had the puck on their stick for anymore then 30 seconds in OT.Phew.. certainly nowhere near our best. Losing Lantz then Dilly right away definitely caused some disconnect then add in we spent 20+ mins on the PK & we never got going.
But they found a way & that's all that matters this time of year. Sikic HUGE tying goal! He deserved that. Was awesome today as was that entire line. DelBelBelluz was a man possessed at times.
Love to see 77 stand up for Voit & that poor GUE guy didn't stand a chance, but maybe leave it for another day. Same with Fischer who inexplicably fought when we only had 5D available.. Young got burned bad for 4th goal because of it.
Gaudreau was awesome. 1st goal sucked (might of ramped off 3s stick) but he made numerous huge saves. Got some more Benny chants from another rocking crowd. Haven't heard it that loud maybe ever for that OT goal!
Unfortunately, imagine Dillingham is gone 2-3 games. That was a bad hit. Usually throws perfect ones but he totally misjudged it there. Heard Lantz is sick. Pure speculation but wonder if a few guys were not 100% & that played apart in the sluggish at times effort.
I hate whining (might seem like a shocker lmao) but cmon. Wtf was that reffing today. I'm not disputing a majority of our calls (Mast 1 was BS), but how about the 4 or 5 blatant ones GUE did!?! 4 consecutive calls on us meanwhile they look the other way on multiple obvious ones including on GUEs PP that they scored on. Blatant interference. Thankfully, didn't cost us. PK came up Huge.
