Shout out Kyrou! +4 today. Probably played upwards of 30 minutes. Only gave up 19 shots once again.

Stifling defense even with 2 OA D out. Del Mastro is laughably good. Fischer played phenomenal for a rookie. MacDonald no mistakes after all that missed time. Brilliant.

Ya nice to face that adversity for sure for both the players, the coaches and the goalies. Good to get guys in this series, like Doherty, Macdonald, Fischer, Young and Suryzcia. That series was definitely physically and mentally hard on the team and they figured out how to elevate their game and simplify and play much harder and get that big series winning W. hopefully Gaudreau can step it up and the team can start playing like they did at the end of this game for a full series.

Yah I'm confident in our roster vs FLT or SAG. I think we'll control a majority of the game vs either.

Gaudreau needs to be good though. We were only giving up 20 shots a game in this series & allowing 3-4 a game. He was especially shaky on the road for whatever reason. If he just even matches Lennox or Day we'll win. Without a doubt in my mind.

to be fair to Ben.... it is really hard when the other goalie is getting a ton of shots and playing really well. But yah he needs to be better.

Yah I'm to lazy to do it myself, but I bet u Ben's stats when facing 27/28+ shots are FAR better than his stats when facing below 23.

hes such a rhythm based goalie it seems & when he goes long stretches witnout shot he struggles.

He did come up with that big save on Namestnikov right after we tied it at 3. His best on the day.

Had to show Filak some love. That kid left all he had out there in this series. The shot of him on the bench with like 3 different bandages was the epitome of what it takes to win this time of yr. Said it all yr come playoffs he'd show his worth. Such a gamer.

Last one from me haha. We called for him & he delivered. Pastujov was a man on a mission in the 2nd & 3rd period today.

Voit also really came alive after his goal. When those 2 are going we are incredibly tough to beat.

Great resiliency from the Sting today! As you could all tell I didn't have a great feeling about this series after Friday but I am glad I was wrong. Went down three times today but came back every time. Then Burke with his second OT winner of the series. Great to see the big guns step up as @StingUpdates mentioned. Pastujov 2G/1A, Burke OT Winner/Assist, DBB 2A, Voit 1G/+3, Del Mastro 1A, Kyrou +4. Shout out to our D today too. Playing with two rookies and MacDonald just coming back from an injury and they only allow 19 shots. Now we wait to see who we play in round 2

What a game, got to give a lot of credit to the Guelph goalie, he faced a lot of rubber, Sting had to play hard to get the win. I was a little nervous when I saw the lineup but again those young D men really held their own. MacDonald even went down to block a shot, gotta love their dedication to help the team

How is Burke 3rd for goal area when he scored 50 damn goals almost entirely in the goal area! Haha. Love to see Lantz get recognition for being underrated & Dillingham get recognized as the best hitter.

So who does everyone want? Saginaw or Flint?
I think Saginaw is a better matchup stylistically. Especially with Ritchie out potentially the entire series.

Flint's bigger, more physical & have a couple good lines. Saginaw isnt that physical, a bit smaller, but are a quick team.

I've watched almost every game of the series & to my surprise Saginaw has been the better team for a majority of the series IMO. Day for Flint has been superb. Lennox has also been great.

I think we are better than both by a little bit, but much like GUE if we can't figure out our PP, stay disciplined & get solid goaltending it'll go 6-7 games with more of a chance to lose.

.

How about Burke. He just keeps getting better. It's crazy. MVP of the series. Points in all 5, 4G/4A, +7, 2OT Goals, 55% on draws & all the hard work he does out front, in corners, in his own end. All while sick for G3/G5/G6.

There are some out there who still think he's "carried" by Voit & that couldn't be farther from the truth. When 86 isn't playing L1 has been FAR less productive. He's the straw that stirs the drink for that line & this team.

Ritchie cut an artery or a tendon Friday. Very scary. Got 7 stitches.

Team is hopeful it won't be a long absence but one of those things you can't put an exact time frame on.

I could watch this for hours on end. Haha. As I said in tweet what a turnout for RD1. At home & on the road. City is truly buzzing for this team. Friday should be electric.
