On ice one of the best players on your roster. Off ice he creates bad vibes in the dressing room. Easiest to get rid of the stink and start over. It’s gonna cost them a lot

Those players were younger at the time of their signings. I am guessing Doug Wilson thought the team could still make the playoffs for a few years before age caught up with them. On top of that, Pavelski had an inflated shooting percentage that was being sustained by an aging Thornton. Unfortunately for Wilson, Martin Jones absolutely imploded, and the Vlasic contract was a day-one mistake. Wilson was talking about how a late-twenties Vlasic had untapped offensive potential, WTF. How those contracts really hurt the Sharks was costing them depth players like Donskoi and Nyquist, who was a good fit as a rental.
How's that analysis working out? Seems like a poor decision to use that stat. What old man is carrying him in Dallas?

I can’t figure out why would anyone trade for him
Didn't say it would he a fair trade for the sharks. Something line of a 4th round pick or another issue player. Zucker for kane with some retention

At this point I'm not so sure that Kane gets the opportunity to continue in the NHL. I think it'll be overseas for him, where this will be forgotten and he can let his image simmer a bit. Maybe after a few years he'll get another opportunity here.

As good as a player he is, he's not exactly a hot commodity or a position of dire need. He's made his mistakes and he'll hopefully take the opportunity to rectify them and come back fresh and focused.
He'll end up in massive debt to a Russian mobster if he goes to Europe and uh, they don't take bankruptcy as a legitimate answer.

I didn’t even think of trade value.

But why would anyone want to bring in locker room issues to their team
For a chance to improve and bring in a goal scoring physical winger for dirt cheap. It would need to be the right place of course but sometime another chance of scenery would help...he is running out of chances though

I think nothing happens and this is a prime example of people overblowing nothing. People love hysteria

This is just my theory, but I think Evander Kane is CIA and his hockey career is just about creating cover so that he can go to Russia. People will say that I am crazy, but it has happened before. Look at The Americans, 9/11, the “Moon Landing” (wink wink).

Kane is seen a lot in Casinos. Maybe he’s James Bond?

Maybe it’s best that we don’t post more about everything pointing towards the CI* and Ev*nder K*ne being a thing. (*=a)

If we the wrong people read it we could be finito.

Maybe it’s just wishful thinking by me, but it would be pretty cool if Kane took down Putin. Got an iron cross. Then actually started playing hockey for real after his intelligence career was over and won four cups.

Have anything like that ever happend in pro sports in the US before?

You can’t be serious.
You think Sam Jose will get a fourth round pick for Evander Kane?
The guys is completely radioactive.
The only hope for San Jose to remove him from their pay role is a league suspension and possible contract termination.

To Chicago: Evander Kane 50% retention

To San Jose: Blackhawks 3rd & 4th round pick in 2022, & Brett Connelly

Chicago already has one open investigation on a sex scandal why not add another off ice investigation to the mix

He’s had multiple change of sceneries, they don’t work with him.

I know what he is. If you look at him quick you think he makes a positive impact.
But he doesn’t, he carries a huge bag and winning team can’t have locker room toxic.

Kane is not a superstar player so negatives he brings won’t be overlooked that likely or easily.

Can’t see a good team wanting to trade for him

Kane is not a guy you want in the CIA, he is a flexer and a clout chaser

Yes, Dylan Strome is available.

Chicago has him under contract for 3 million this season. Brett Connolly is going to San Jose with Dylan Strome.

the problem with this isn't the 'taking a chance' it's the term left on his contract. ya better feel REALLY good about that 'chance'

IF you take that chance and it doesn't work out, again, his value is less than nothing. you're stuck

Chicago can meet you in the middle San Jose retention is 2.25 million. Blackhawks need San Jose to take Andrew Shaw & Connelly in order to fit Evander Kane under the cap.

They're not going to retain that much on term like that. I'd be fine with taking Connolly and Shaw if there is a pick coming back.
