Warms my heart to see so many former Sabres doing well.

Just for fun I looked at some recent Buffalo Sabres rosters because so many of their players end up on contenders. Here is their 2020 roster

Taylor Hall-Jack Eichel- Sam Reinhart
Jeff Skinner- Eric Staal- Dylan Cozens
Cody Eakin-Tage Thompson-Viktor Olofsson
Zemgus Girgensons-Curtis Lazar- Kyle Okposo

Rasmus Dhalin- Brandon Montour
Jake McCabe-Henri Jokiharju
Rasmus Ristolainen-Colin Miller

I understand some of these guys were young in Dhalin and Cozens, but how did this team not make the playoffs ?!!!
Forgot Ullmark too. Lol

The Sabres are the best development team in the league.

And a borderline top 10 player in the world. It’s funny because you watch him play and he has absolutely zero explosiveness. But he is the single smartest player in hockey and is crazy versatile. Best two-way winger of his generation.
Reinhardt is great. Barkov is even better.

Huberdeau and Barkov were on different lines. They did play on the first PP unit together. Huby had similar ice time with Barkov as Tkachuk does. And Reinhart was doing what he is doing now with Barkov out with injury.
Now, Huby and Reinhart do have great chemistry with Barkov when they do play together, that is a fact. But give these guys their credit. And Forsling is a defenseman, and not on a line Barkov, He plays great one on one defensive hockey. And Verhaeghe does his thing on the first or second line. That doesn't mean Barkov isn't really good, or isn't the best player on the team though.
Barkov is the best player on the team.
But they have some real stars up front . Reinhardt, Tkachuk, Verheage, Bennet

All five better than any player on my Habs.

Some bold statements there. Im guessing top 10 a lot of people will argue. The others, one you cant quantify and the other, his advanced analytics aren't bad by any means, but BEST two-way winger of the generation is a bit of a stretch.

McDavid
MacKinnon
Makar
Matthews
Draisaitl
Kucherov
Panarin
Pastrnak

He isnt touching any of them and I think we can argue all of these.

Rantanen, Tkachuk, Barkov, Kaprisov, Stone, Eichel, Connor, J Hughes, Q Hughes, Crosby, Point, Nylander, Marner, Miller, Petterssson, Aho, Robertson, Guentzel, Brady T, Keller, Fox, Marchand.

We can easily argue Reinhart in there in general as of today is top 10, but overall I'd say he needs a couple more consistent seasons to be in that top 15 range. I'm guessing many Panthers fans, even with last season and his hot start this season, will say Barkov and Tkachuk are still better.

He did. Multiple times. I like how not only does no one watch the Sabres, they can’t even be bothered to google basic stats about guys who play(ed) here.
Always great when people educate others about their team. Right up there with people who tell you some fact you told them yesterday.

Florida is so lucky to have Reinhart, Barkov, Tkachuk AND Verhaeghe. I'm not sure if you find a better top 4 forwards on a single team in the NHL.

Hmmm challenge accepted...

MacKinnon, Rantanen, Mittlestadt, Nichushkin
McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, blah
Robertson, Duchene, Hintz, Johnston
Forsberg, ROR, Marsh, Stamkos
Kuch, Point, Guentz, Cirelli
Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander
Miller, Boeser, Pettersson, blah
Stone, Eichel, Hertl, blah

Im inclined to agree with you. The Avalanche I would argue hard assuming a sober Nuke. Lightning is pretty close. Oilers are so top heavy that who cares about their fourth. Leafs in theory but we know how much of a joke that is.

He’s not the best Panther forward but that’s why they are Cup champs. With Barkov and Tkachuk missing time he’s definitely been the most important thus far this season, no doubt.

He’s playing as well as any forward in the league. But so is Mark Stone, so I’m not sure I’d anoint Reinhart the best two-way winger of his generation just yet. Right now? It’s those two. I’d still take Stone in terms of prime defensive impact but Reinhart has the clear edge in goal scoring. But those two are in a class by themselves at the moment for true two-way winger impact.

Welcome to the forum Mrs. Reinhart.

Has someone already made that joke in this thread? Probably but I'm not gonna check before posting.

When you add 5th Bennett it goes to no contest

Or even developing Lundell as 6th.

All on amazing value deals as well and in their mid prime, except Lundell who’s just starting to get into his prime
