I hope he turns it around there. IDGAF if it would make us look bad, he would never put it together here. He needed to get out.
Yeah me too. The Bennett breakout was never happening in Calgary so it doesn't bother me if he turns into a good player in Florida.

Hopefully Bennett can have a big final 10 games and playoffs and stick Florida with a big contract. He is certainly capable of it.

The Flames got a good return for him. He was never going to do it here.

Base on his history as a Flames, I doubt he would sustain it long term but you never know. He may find an ideal linemate.

Maybe but as much as I like Sam he has had these stretches before. We will see how things turn out now he gets a new start
Bennett never had significant stretches of playing centre with actually good linemates in Calgary, so no, he's never done anything like this before.

As recently as this season Bennett had a few games with the top line in a row. He produced in the first game there. Until you see the next few games, you can't really declare whether anything unprecedented is happening.

Not at center. He's been thrown around at right wing for whatever nonsensical reason even though he's really a center, or left wing at best.

So like I said, this is the first time he's been placed at center with actually good linemates.

Was Leslie drinking a carbonated vodka beverage there

Also Bennett looks happy for the first time in his career

Sam showed flashes of his skill so many times here but he could never build on just flashes. Blaming Sam not playing center on him not producing is pretty lame, he struggled to generate any offensive pressure this year even with Gaudreau, I feel like the bigger problem is he never was given a defined role, he struggled figuring out what he was supposed to do in any given game. He had some terribly lazy games in the defensive zone its hard to justify moving a guy up the lineup that is getting burned low on the depth chart. I'm hopeful a fresh start will be a wake up call for Bennett and he can find some consistency in his effort and results.

If Bennett finds success post-Calgary and becomes the player he was projected to be or even better, it wouldn't be the first time.

Not saying he'll be the next Hull or St. Louis.
