Rumours of Vegas potentially trading Kruger.

I wouldn't mind Komarov from Toronto. Can he play center though?

Kuhn is one of the best 4th liners in the league. Far from a plug. PKs, will block anything and has good skill for a 4th liner.

Blugers, Dea, Angelo, Lafferty, Pavlychev, Olund all hopeless? I mean, Olund just had a better play offs in the SHL than Sundqvist did at the same age, while Blugers had a better first season in WBS.

Seems a bit overly negative.

Don't see any guys who will be playing in the NHL in 2 years

I'm pretty sure Komarov's stricly a winger. Kruger can be an elite checking line centre but he doesn't provide enough offense to be a 3rd line centre. If Vegas retained half his caphit then I could there being interest but anything less than that and he's too expensive.

Bozak would be interesting. Not sure Toronto will move him. He also is a bit pricey at 4.2 million cap hit. Although the term was apparently the sticking point with Bonino and Bozak has less term left on his deal than Bonino now has. I also seem to remember someone suggesting JR may look for a younger center but I could be wrong. Bozak is older than Bonino.

And were you this upset when we didn't have any wings who would be in the NHL in 2 years? :dunno:

We're weak there, organizationally, I'll grant. I still don't get being mad about it. A lot can change over the course of a season.

Would anyone trade Maatta to LV for Schmidt and one of Eakin, Karlsson or Lindberg?

No. I don't think Schmidt's a guy who'll take those hard top 4 minutes. I think Schmidt is a guy much like Hunwick, only younger and with more potential. Not the answer.

What's the difference between Sundqvist and Blugers that makes you say that?

If he was signed up - yes. We have like 5 guys right now who were going to complain either way. If we re-sign bones, the price/term would be too much. If Bones leaves, we should have re-signed him. Why don't we have a 3C? Why don't we have a 4C? Why can't we move Sheary for a 4C? Why can't we move Hags for cap space and overspend for Patrick Marleau and his 10 year contract at age 42. Why can't we get fancy names?

Last year seems like an aberration for Eakins in terms of production, and he's always PKed and been good in the dot. Young too. Not a bad option for a bounceback year if the price is reasonable.

No because you can convert centers to wing more easily. It's an easier position to play. As you can see, more of them are on the market. Many teams convert former centers to wings for that reason. I think the team didn't have enough foresight to say "Sid and Geno are getting older, it may take awhile to develop centers, let's pick or trade for some good prospects"
It's more stressful to me than wings

Yup and maybe Vegas retains a bit if you need. He's not my top option but I'd take him over Kruger and a few others.

Even if he does differ in playing style from Bonino, I'd find it a bit weird trading for him without retention, seeing how we weren't willing to pay Bonino.

Yes, you're absolutely right, Sid and Geno are going to drop over stone dead in two years. :dunno:

And I'd really like to see someone run the numbers on that old "Center is easier and you can convert them" saw. I've got a pretty strong suspicion it's another stupid hockey cliche. But I don't care enough about this subject to give it anymore thought.
