They’re taking a 20yo goalie and a 5-11” 19yo goalie both who played USHL last year and haven’t even played NCAA yet? That’s the best America can do? I hope Oke takes the starter role from both of them.

Yeah super odd camp for the USA. Oke was invited to work out as a possibility for the 23 world jrs. Ended up making the final three for this year by the end of it all. All three are undrafted and compared to other squads appear pretty below average. Dont see them medaling but if Oke can perform well would he awesome for him after missing is 16 year old season and playing in front of a terrible Saginaw team at 17. Might see some redraft hype in 23

-Outside of Mintyukov, Smith and Bloom, you can bring everyone back for 23-24. It’s a true development year. Time for guys to step up and prove they belong here for the next run.

If we can get a nice return on Mancini, Lennox and Bloom leaves us in good position for a run in the next couple years. Mintyukov could also be up for grabs come new year for a huge return. Oke looks like he could step in and start his developing as a starter.
I hope Smith stays and the hometown boy remains a Spirit unless the offer is to good to refuse. One last thing is Jovanovic actually going to play. I heard he had injuries but would love to see him on the ice and solidify the D.

I know Oke’s season numbers suck but watching him play against Flint a lot last year then getting the nod from USA Hockey, I think he’ll be fine assuming the role of starter and be a stud in net very soon. That’s coming from a Flint fan who didn’t think a ton of Cormier or that Russian kid and always disses Lennox. I think Oke is the one I’m gonna hate seeing in net very soon.
