I guess I ment Sapovaliv or Mintyukov being dealt. Not the new import. Can they move one of them if a homerun type pick would report?
oh for sure, they could be moved on the 30th, thats when the window opens for 4 hours or so. and tey could be moved in August if they get the 2nd overall guy signed.

If they’re gonna swing for the fences, go for someone like Noah Ostlund. Projected first rounder but his pro team is getting demoted to Swedish second tier. Didn’t get a lot of time with the big club last season either.

Buzz buzz....Insider phone is ringing.... Hearing the Slovak, Martin Misiak will go #2 in tomorrow's OHL import draft. You heard it here first. #OHLINSIDERisafraud

Misiak is a big centre who can play both down the middle and on the wing. For his size, he is not overly physical. He plays more of a finesse game but is very skilled in the offensive zone and in traffic with deflections. He has an outside shot at making the WjC team this august but will be there in December. As for reporting, it would take convincing but I could imagine he would.

Saginaw ended up making 2 selections today. On the team press release GM Dave Drinkill mentioned they were able to because both current imports could be 1st round picks.

Pick 62 we selected Petr Hauser from the Czech Republic. 6-4 205 lb winger. Late birthday who is eligible this year for the draft. Interesting enough he shares an agent with current imports Mintyukov and Sapovaliv and some previous imports such as Solovyov.

NHL draft is just 2 days away. Best guess on where some guys will go:

Mintyukov should go between 10-20

Sapovaliv early to mid 2nd

Oke maybe 6th or 7th

Outside chance to Mancini, Loukas, and Smith (although he may get signed outside of the draft).

I think if Pavel drops beyond 15 it will be a steal for some team...I honestly think he goes closer to 10 and it would not surprise me to see someone reach for him in the top10 if they need a defenseman.

Saginaws 2nd round import pick this year Petr Hauser was selected by New Jersey with pick 126 as well. Possibly a body to bring in if Mintyukov isnt returned by Anaheim
I would very much assume that Mintyukov and Sapovaliv both return, then Hauser gets waived to be picked up by another team in the OHL/CHL. Then Misiak can come next year or they’ll have a decision to make if he wants to come for the second half.

That is my assumption as well. I wasnt sure what Mintyukovs contract was and I know Misiak has a contract for next season. If Mintyukov was on loan to Saginaw he could potentially play in the AHL next year. I assume he will be back and potentially be the top scoring d man in all the CHL.

I know its only summer league so not to get to excited, but Misa currently has 21 pts in 6 games for Wasserman White in the Carnavale League. Leads the entire league in points and I assume hes the youngest player playing but someone more familiar with that can confirm.

hes a fantastic player and will be a fantastic ohl player, but that league is not good to project success. its shinny.

Sault plays a preseason game against Saginaw in Midland. What's the facility like, and is this a new thing this year?

Saginaws rink has been getting some renovations done over the last couple offseasons including a new roof. Im guessing either they wont be completed in time for preseason hence the games in Midland. Midland is a nice town about a 30 minute drive from the Dow. Its a community rink with 2 ice sheets (i think one regulation size and one Olympic size) and a 3rd rink that was turned into a fake turf soccer field. Really nice facility, not a ton of seating (bleachers on one side)

Interesting choice throwing FA camp invitee Florian Xhekaj in the first day at camp video along with our 1st oa draft picks in both U16 and u18 drafts. Makes you think he has a solid shot at making the roster. Would definitely add some jam the team needs desperately
