This is absolutely a playoff team. Guelph, Kitchener, Windsor, Owen Sound, Flint and then Saginaw
I would think sarnia is definitely one of the better teams in the west. I know it’s early but they outplayed Kitchener and Windsor this weekend. All they did was improve their roster from last season and now they are much more experienced, older, skilled and have a top end goalie in net.

I agree, but still think Flint will be in the top 2 or 3 in the West. Saginaw will be much improved.

Nice win by Saginaw last night. All the big guns firing the first 60 minutes. Not a fan of Tbone fighting in the 3rd giving them some life especially if Saginaw was going to take thier foot off the gas like they did.

This Willis kid is a good one too.

Man. Hoover begged for it. Codd almost had to and at 7-0 they were dead anyway. I understand your logic though and my one little issue would be spending 1 of his 3 fights late in a 7-0 game but it is Sarnia so it’s a divisional rival you’ll see plenty more of that the message was being sent to not some Eastern team they’ll never see again. When you only get 3 before suspension you have to be real wise when you choose to use them. I’m personally not a fan of the rule being at 3. Like if Saginaw’s tougher players all get at that limit and some team decides it’s a free for all to take runs at young Misa and Mintyukov…..

Not only that but Codd just missed all of last year with injury. Don’t need him breaking his hand or something else. Hill or Mancini should be doing the fighting if it has to come to that.

For sure. The fight limit wasnt something I even considered with Codd but he is fiesty. Smith is more of who I consider the lightweight scrapper on Saginaw. Hill, Mancini, Moore are tougher kids too but youre right dont want anyone taking runs at Misa and company. If Saginaw does make some deals at the deadline I can see them adding some jam.

Here I had McNamara pegged as the break out guy but Willis is the 05 coming out the gate on fire.

Top scoring rookie in the OHL as of tonight. Really great signing. If what I heard was correct getting Misa was a big part of him signing. Whats funny is I never really heard of him as a big time NCAA recruit or anything

Mintyukov with a casual 12 points through 5 games as well pacing the entire league as a defenseman. I think thats good

Saginaw is looking very good right now. Better than Flint or anyone in the West.

Is anybody here to talk Spirit hockey, especially goaltending .... Oke 6 goals on 20 shots???
Couldn’t catch the game. I guess I’d ask how many of those were grade A chances? If they had a game where they were giving those up, I wouldn’t be looking at Oke like he’s the problem.

Joey Battaino is leaving the Saginaw radio broadcast. Good luck to him in his future endeavors. Always will love his 7-6 comeback call and Bode Wilde’s game 2 rocket.

Should be a Saginaw win. Flint is very inconsistent, the defense is leaving the goaltenders out to dry way to often, and poor goaltending so far. Just not clicking yet.

Good job by the Flint fans for traveling on a Wednesday night...much bigger crowd than we would normally have mid-week in October. Very loud (and for the most part) polite crowd. That said, it's one thing to be an annoying fan like the guy near me that didn't even make the 3 guys with him laugh with every dumb comment but when an opposing 18yo player is laying for an extended time hurt on the ice, when he gets up it's pretty customary to give a courtesy clap rather than yell "don't worry, SHE'LL be OK".

Good game by Flint last night...Saginaw played a pretty awful game but Flint was going to win that game even if Saginaw played well. Would have liked to see us test your goalie a bit more but it was a solid all-around effort for the Firebirds last night. Keep playing like that and you'll do more than sweep the I75 cup, you'll be in the finals.

I cringe at that stuff, every time and if they’re close enough that I don’t have to yell across the arena I’ll point out that they’re probably still a teenager. I get it. You’re at a game and all pumped up and in the moment but it’s not 1986 IHL hockey down there. I’m not one to cry and moan about “oh! they’re still just children, you can’t even criticize them” or something but some of these idiots seem to forget they almost all are still teenagers trying to further their hockey path whose parents/family could be sitting in the same section as you. It’s Flint-Saginaw. It’s gonna bring out the worst individuals at their worst moments from both sides occasionally.

Saginaw finds it's new radio voice. Dillon Clark coming in from the Carolina Thunderbirds of the FPHL. Funny enough, their coach is former Flint/Saginaw asst/video coach Garrett Rutledge. Wonder if he put in a good word for him? Welcome to Saginaw!
