Sabres will be courting the love of the Jacobs family this evening, much like a hostage signaling to a potential savior that they are under the thumb of an insane tyrant and his spineless henchmen.

We hear you, Sabres. Help is on the way.

Shoot the hostage

Maybe we'll go on such a historic losing streak that Pegula will give in to shame and sell the team? A man can dream. Now excuse me while I try to go catch a unicorn under a skittle rainbow. Reality is for chumps.

If we reach 15 I think we should petition to have the team renamed the Pegula Sabres. Buffalo doesn’t deserve this shit. Let him own this too.

I'll dust this off cause I feel like getting abused.

This teams issues are:
5% Ruff
10% Pegula
30% Adams (including scouts and staff)
55% Players
The problem was that Adams deserves a high percentage of the blame for the players. He has had FIVE offseasons. We have zero defensemen who can play defense in the top 4. Zero forwards who are playmakers in the top six. Zero hard nosed net front guys in the middle six. Zero physical difference makers in the bottom six.

I don’t even know how that is possible.

But I know who drafted, signed, re-signed or otherwise acquired every single player on a roster that is never going to work in the NHL.

Like…zero chance. Zero point zero. The players percentage is heavily affected by Adams choosing the players. They all want to shoot from ten feet out and not play defense. Because that’s what he wanted. He got what he wanted.

I think Pegula and Adams are much more to blame. Kevyn just didn't build this roster and develop our players correctly.

If I own a business and I hire a crony with no qualification whatsoever to run it and it goes to shit it's pretty obvious who's at fault.

I think the on paper evaluation is that this was a .500 team, potentially a bubble team if they got hot.

So its a mid roster thats playing bad. Its a poor combination.

But, in the end, its 14 years out of the playoffs. That's on 100% of ownership, regardless of where you point the finger for this specific point in time. We've had 2 1st overall picks, 2 2nd overall picks, and 6 more top 10 picks. Only one true 'bust' out of the group (Nylander). Most are still playing or developing

The fact that you can't parlay that draft talent to be a top half of the league team A SINGLE TIME in 14 years is on ownership.

And my fun fact of the day:

They haven't interviewed a single GM since Jason Botterill got hired in 2017. That means the owners haven't heared a single voice outside of their bubble on what they are doing wrong in seven years despite them not having done much right in that time.
