"on pace" is something you use when you know you are talking about an injury prone player...

and yes, his size makes him injury prone

why would anyone "wish" for him to fail to improve offensively??? that's just dumb

I'm glad you get it Jame. Thanks.

I didn't think I would need to spell it out that clearly but apparently I do. When it comes to Ennis... Between injuries, slumps, etc... I think Ennis will average 50-55 points per season. He may get a few more, a few less. But average over his entire career, not just while he's in his 20's will be 50-55. Not "on pace" crap. Actual real points that in the real game of NHL hockey he actually produced.

I'm not wishing him to fail or any other dramatic claim. Some think different... Fine. It's simply what I think will happen :dunno:

And I would be absolutely fine with a 5' 9" average build forward getting that point average thru his career.

You're suggesting that he will get equal to or barely above the same number of points in a season that he did his rookie year. Is that correct?

Done in a heartbeat.

Murray is EXACTLY what our defense needs.Great proposal, too bad Darcy would never make a deal like this.

Yeah, agreed.

Murray would be a good perfect to play along side with Myers. Shut down defenseman, physical, beast on the PK, blocks a lot of shots.

As for the Sharks, Stafford is a solid player and I think he would be good on a line with Thornton. We desperately need a top 6 winger.

We don't have the depth at forward to move a struggling winger for a struggling UFA defenceman.

Uh no_On pace means what he is projected to score based on his performance this season, which BTW includes every possible game played so far.Ennis had injuries last season,so what?Every player is susceptible to injuries.Going back to 06-07 Ennis has played pretty much every season fully throughout his whole hockey career, but your right he is "injury prone". He sure was injury prone in 10-11 the bum, he only played 82 games :shakehead In order to get the "injury" prone label, you need to have more then one season with injuries.Ennis in 7 years now has had one season where he has missed more then a few games time.

Ennis has scored 102 points in 154 games. The only Sabres with a higher career PPG are Vanek and Pominville. To think Tyler Ennis, who has already scored 49 points in a season, along with 34 in 48 games (58 point "crap pace" ) will top out at 50-55 points is laughable and only someone with a personal hatred of him would believe that.He already IS a 55 point player and he isn't even the #1 center. At the very least Ennis will be a ~65 point player, a la the 03-04 version of Briere.

According to http://www.hockeysfuture.com/teams/colorado_avalanche/

The Avs have great G depth...........maybe Sabres could work a deal for ROR and G prospect for _________ (fill in the blanks)

Yes they have a logjam there with 3 or 4 G all needing ice time. I was coming here to post the same thing but I see my work is done. RoR+(Attikarno/Millan/Pickard) for the usual suspects + a second perhaps even two or another 'tweener. That would be a great return on investment for them as their goalies were mid round picks and they dont have enough ice for all of them.

I'll try again ...

I just now took two random players. And anyone who doesn't believe me can kiss my ....

Points

Joe Pavelski (starting with 1st full season with the sharks)
40
59
51
66
61

277/5 = 55.4 points per season average

Shane Doan (starting with his first full season with the Jets)
17
12
11
22
51
63
49
58
68
66
55
78
73
55
60
50
788/16 = 49.25 points per season average

My simple statement was ... I think Ennis will produce actual points of 50-55 per season. By thinking this way I took into account possible injuries, possible slumps etc...

Hell, he could "be on pace" for 130 points a season! But at the end of the season his actual points he produced will average out thru the ENTIRE length of his career 50-55 points.

I have now said this is in similar ways twice. Is this second one any better to understand? Yea, it's not the "normal" way to determine a players projected production. I never claimed it was. It's just simply... My.. Opinion...

Time and only time, will tell if I'm right or wrong. Unless we have someone on HFBoards who can already see the future :dunno:

Way too many arguments about Ennis.

Anyways.... whats the deal with Armia... I thought I remember reading from Sabres Prospects that its possible Armia could be coming to the Amerks sometime in March because his team is going to miss playoffs..

Any more been said about this?

I think the understanding is IF armina misses the playoffs THEN he will come here in march ELSE he plays the playoffs overseas and comes here for a season or two in rochester.

I have the same viewpoint... his production will fluctuate with role/linemates... but he's no more than a Versteeg.

remember all the clowns who thought Ennis was going to be the #1 center of the future

Ennis has Briere like potential ( similar stats through their first 3-4 years ). And yes his production will fluctuate with linemates..... whose fault is it Stafford can't hit the net? Or that Foligno's effort level is down from last year? And why is it that you say Ennis' stats are based on his linemates but completely ignore the fact that Hodgson's stats are largely influenced by his linemates?

Swing that second as part of a RoR deal and I think you might be somewhere.

Out
----
Stafford

In
----
Douglas Murray
2nd Round Pick (SJ)

Out
---
Ennis
Gerbe
Brennan
2nd Rd Pick (SJ)
2nd Rd Pick (Buf)

In
---

RoR

Net change

In
---
RoR
Murray

Out
---
Ennis
Stafford
2nd Rd

Result ?
Much tougher team.
I am worried about his wheels falling of much like Rivet and Regehr

If we were already offered this deal, I'd take it for the value, but Murray isn't actually very useful. Very slow.
