No and No.

Want no part of Kadri....and JVR is just Stafford with a longer name.

I forgot to add the :sarcasm:

My bad.......I wouldn't trade Miller to the Eastern Conference.....he's going out west if he is to be traded

They can have Armia too.

Armia and Stafford is fair value IMO.At the end of the day Pavelski has scored 60+ points a mere two times.

To :sharks

Drew Stafford

To :sabres

Joe Pavelski

I
Same Cap Hit. Sabres Need a Center. Sharks need a Winger. For 2 teams that are truly Struggling... Why Not?

San Jose is 7-3-2. If that is truly struggling, sign me up. Pavelski has 14 points. Stafford doesn't have a goal yet. We'd have to throw something stupid at them to even have them listen, and then still, why would they trade a core piece of a good team.

Imagine if Calgary came to us and said, "you're struggling, we're struggling. How about Stempniak for Pominville.". That would actually be more reasonable than this offer.

It's not worth winning if you can't win big.

Myers + Grigorenko + 1st for Giroux, assuming the Flyers continue to struggle.

Do the Flyers want to get younger, though?

Plus, I don't think they have the cap space to make that deal.

Giroux - $3.75M

Myers - $5.5M
Grigs - $1.775M

You can eat cap space, and Giroux is an RFA after next season and you can bet he'll get 8+ million.

Just saying, this team needs another Lafontainian type trade. Let's go big here. Trading Stafford is treading water.

Why the bloody hell would they do that?

99.999% sure they wouldn't. But Giroux has been struggling wearing the C. If it continues, maybe they decide they made the wrong choice.

Philly loves their big, dominating D-men, and after missing out on Weber, they look at Myers and see the potential. Grigorenko could eventually be near Giroux's level and high 1st as a throw in. Just throwing something out there.

How does that work for the Sabres, then?

When you eat cap space, it doesn't just disappear into thin air. And it's not like the Flyers cap situation gets a whole lot better after this season.

I don't know, I was just throwing something out there. If you want to use it as a starting point and develop it into something more realistic and workable, feel free.

Myers + Grigorenko + 1st for Giroux, assuming the Flyers continue to struggle.

...Why? The way this team is going, I'd rather have those 3 assets than G. Our 1st is probably going to be top 10, if not top 5 (I don't care that they managed to win a few games, they still look ******). Grigorenko has 1C potential, and Hodgson has been playing well enough in that role anyway, so I don't see that as a pressing need. And the potential for our blue line to be good in the future drops off significantly if we dump Myers.

No thanks.

You're crazy... Giroux is a certified superstar in my book. If all you have to give up is 3 "hopes and dreams" to get him... you do it without thinking twice.

You wouldn't make that trade? You get out from underneath what may be a complete albatross of a contract (Myers), and you give up potential in Grigorenko, who is far from a sure thing, and a 1st for one of the top five players in the entire National Hockey League.

It's a no-brainer, IMO.

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Ott-Giroux-Leino (Armia)
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford

If you pull off that trade, you have a group of forwards that are worthy of the Cup, IMO.

Giroux would HAVE to center Vanek and Pominville, otherwise his talents would be wasted.

Also, that would be the best line in the NHL, no question.

You are probably right, but my thought was that Ott could be his Hartnell and Leino has familiarity, plus the VHS is great so why mess with it. Giroux automatically makes both of them a lot better.
