Has his game fallen off, or is it just a scenario where the coach doesn't like him?

Jokiharju is a bit of an enigma all-round. He's a guy who, if you look strictly at analytics, looks fairly impressive. His advanced stats with Dahlin are stupidly good. Problem is, that pairing doesn't pass the eye test at all.

I think the ultimate issue when it comes to Joker and Ruff......I think Ruff wants more intensity and consistency from Joker. I don't think Ruff wants Joker to be physical per se, as that's not really part of his game. But on the ice, Joker comes across as very non-intense at times.

And he's just a bit weird overall. He skates well, can pass well......but his offensive zone awareness is not good. Positionally he can be quite sound.....but pucks tend to pass through him like he's not there.

Everything is there for Joker to be a really solid 2nd pair RHD who's a bit of a do-it-all, master-of-none type.....but he just can't put it all together consistently.

Yeah like Rasmus Andersson is the only one that comes to mind, and he's definitely not defensive orientated, even though he can play PK and over 20 minutes a game without much issue.
And that's kind of the problem. A guy like Andersson is theoretically a very good fit for Buffalo........but his style is wholly redundant given that we have Dahlin, Power and Byram.

Not that the whole redundancy idea stopped Adams from trading for Byram when we already had Dahlin and Power.........

Seth Jones would be perfect for Buffalo

Jones has NMC so safe to say he would shoot down a trade

Murphy from the Hawks, perfect fit imo and they have all the room they need to take him at full price
Personally, I've been beating that drum for 2 years. Seems like the perfect veteran presence for Power and our blueline in general.

Murphy would be great fit but has a 10 tean NTC that could be problem

I assume all 7 of the teams in Canada are on list, The other 3 teams would be question

Now that Buffalo is all out of Pu can you make a real trade with Carolina?
Oh baby, this Pegula-yacht is loaded with Pu. Most of us are drowning in it.
I think more veterans to guide the young players is the route
The issue is and will remain: no higher end veterans with anything left to give will come to this environment willingly. That means no free agents (barring a massive overpay), and no one is waiving their NMC or modified NTC in a trade. It really ensures that Buffalo will remain a joke unless they can develop out of it. But they cannot develop without that framework of leadership. It is a sisyphean tragedy.

not a big trade but rather a change of scenery trade where buffalo adds two young guys that arent breaking thru in detroit for draft picks :
VELENO (C) + BERGGREN (W) + 2025 4TH FOR BUFFALOS 2025 2ND & 3RD

If Adams is targeting a player for player swap, I'd go to the Ducks and try Zegras for Quinn. Both have disappointed this year, and could offer a change of scenery. If it's a larger trade, I think Kulich/Quinn/1st/Joker/Sammy would be the pieces they would try to work with for a deal. Maybe Poltopov in the K as well.
Quinn is having a bad stretch. Zegras is bad. No chance.
Is Power untouchable ? I'm obviously thinking a Dobson angle .

then , Sabres can extend Byram
Untouchable, and their best defenseman this year. Byram is going out the door if anyone.

He's from Ohio, can't imagine he would hate Buffalo that much, decent odds they're not on his list 🤷‍♂️

IMO, their glaring need is a top 4-caliber RHD to pair with Power long-term. Preferably one a little more defense-oriented who's a PKer.

A lot of fans are questioning the fit of Cozens at center long-term......so maybe an upgrade there that puts Cozens on the wing. OR, using Cozens himself to upgrade the 2C position so we've got two guys who are 1C/2C types (along with Tage).

Easy answer is 2C. Most people think Cozens is better suited for the wing. Second answer is a more balanced D core. Top 4 big shutdown type D. Everyone had Quinn pencilled in as a 2nd line winger which is hurting them right now, but he is also way too talented to be a third liner.
Both of you know you want Savard deep down in your heart. Make it happen chief

Low key slept on is Zucker's ability to play a top 6 role this year. A bit more consistent goaltending and defensive play this team is fine. Their 5v5 goal scoring is fire this year. Quinn will recover sooner or later. I will always take a pure futures trade to upgrade though.
