What's the chances that BUF would be taking a swing on Larkin?
Not high, I don’t think. I don’t think he’s a great fit for the Sabres. I also don’t think Buffalo is on his list.

The only way I see the 4OA getting traded is if Rob Thomas is coming back.
Not saying strait up but I don't see Buffalo trading it for a goalie or defense.
The team that just traded the 4thoa didn't think so
I agree. I don't want him at all but the Flames need forwards and can see them taking a swingLawrence screams bust to me
As a Sabres fan I would do it. Instantly makes Buffalo better and St. Louis gets a load of prospects but I hear yeah I don't think it happens.Just spit-balling. Not saying that I endorse this.
But how about:
TO Sabres: Thomas, Parayko, 29th OA
TO Blues: McLeod, Mrtka, 4th OA, 20th OA
So, one postseason appearance in fifteen years, most of your top players in their primes/on good contracts, more assets than you know what to do with, and now is the time to pull back and wait for a better future? We have 4 goalies right now. 3 goalies did well in the nhl last season. Helle turns into a pumpkin during the playoffs. I don't really se how it's an improvement considering his massive cap hit.
We can trade UPL and have three super cheap goalies next season.
We are doing a retool anyway and getting even younger. We might miss the playoffs 26/27 but 27/28 is looking really promising.
That seems reasonable as hell tbhJust spit-balling. Not saying that I endorse this.

Chicago didn't trade their 4th overall to Toronto for Knies. Buy they did trade it and more for ByramExplain more?
I think this isn't enough from the Sabres or is too much from the Blues. You can remove the 29th OA and I still instantly do it from the Sabres perspective.Just spit-balling. Not saying that I endorse this.

Chicago must not have believed that Knies was worth the 4th pickNot sure how I connect the two. That to me means Knies is worth more not the same or less.
I was speaking relatively. Would you like 70 degrees in January or 30 degrees betterlol crappy weather? It’s better weather than he’s known his whole life. You don’t know Toronto well, do you?
You have no idea what else was the ask though. I can almost guarantee Leafs were asking for Frondell as well seeing as though Sundin is very close with the family. The team that just traded the 4thoa didn't think so
Or the leafs were asking for a lot more.Chicago must not have believed that Knies was worth the 4th pick
I think that's right. I mean, I don't think Byram is worth a 4th pick either, but I don't think Knies is in that Pastrnak/Kucherov/Kaprizov tier of wingers in the league that you'd sell the farm forChicago must not have believed that Knies was worth the 4th pick
Knies for Mrtka #20 and NorrisOr the leafs were asking for a lot more.

I wouldn't blame them for doing that in this market, but I think asking for "a lot more" than a top 5 draft pick for a guy that's not even a top 10-15 winger in the NHL is kind of foolish when you could do really well in a trade for him without thatOr the leafs were asking for a lot more.
True. Seems we've been hearing about the possibility of a trade between the two clubs for Knies. Seeing how KD got bent over backwards 9n the Byram deal, I'm surprised the Leafs couldn't do the sameOr the leafs were asking for a lot more.
Actually think that's a pretty realistic offer. Leafs might balk at Norris due to the injury concerns, but that's all I can think of reallyKnies for Mrtka #20 and Norris
Who says no?
I agreeI think that's right. I mean, I don't think Byram is worth a 4th pick either, but I don't think Knies is in that Pastrnak/Kucherov/Kaprizov tier of wingers in the league that you'd sell the farm for
Where would Knies rank among wingers? Top 15? Top 20? Lower even?I agree
Why would you want to be in that range again? Means you are bad lol. That rookie isn't helping this year and we could miss the playoffs if we don't go out and get two quality players.I hope Buffalo makes their picks at 4 and 20. They'd need a serious regression and maybe some lottery luck to pick as high as 4 again. 20 is a wild card pick. I'd bet they won't be in that range again for a bit.
