I've heard from Sharks fans that sometimes he goes too far and takes penalties, but I don't mind that at all for if no other reason, just to stick it to Torts ![laugh  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/laff.gif)

They are not even comparable players offensively. Prust is a 4th line 20 or so pt player. Close is a borderline 2nd liner who puts up 55 pts a year.
Nick Kypreos @RealKyper 4h Look for #Rangers to dump some $ before 3pm. The plan is 2 extend Clowe at some pt and parameters r understood for a new deal. #TradeTracker
That surely must be the plan ? If not, its a stupendous overpayment for him for 15 games.Do we think he gets re-signed?
Nice. If he can be a Dubinsky but better, we'll have a very good player.

The wheels of Mike Rupp combined with the hands of Brian Boyle.
Yet another old, broke-down, on the way out player for Slats' collection.
Once players in the mold of Clowe start declining due to injuries, it's a rapid downward spiral. He'll be out of the NHL in two years.
Here's his last goal....362 days ago. FWIW, it is a really nice goal.

In link form to go to specific time.
This Rangers team has not had a lot of attitude. Rangers teams from the past that were light on the physical end have always been mediocre or poor teams. I've been following them from 71-72 and I understand that we're not scoring enough but sometimes the little things like a team good at defending its players leads to more confidence from the better players. Just saying. I'm not looking for tough guys who can't play but we're definitely better off with a tough team than a lame one.

So the Rangers are desparate for goals so they get a guy who hasn't scored in a year?![]()

You guys will love him for how much heart he brings to the game and how much he is willing to stand up for his teammates. He was like a big brother to Couture, stood up for him all the time. He lets his temper get the better of him sometimes though and ends up taking dumb penalties but otherwise a great player who was just snakebit this year and can't find the back of the net even though lately he was playing well. You guys will like him and I'm interested to hear if he clashes with Torts haha.
There is a duality to this that would benefit this team greatly. It shows some passion and some emotion which is severely lacking around here at times.

True I've been dying for a bad penalty at the right time with this team for months
No chance Richards is moved in any way tomorrow and I think it's extremely unlikely that they move Gabby too.
I think the possibility of Gaborik being traded at the draft is starting to rise with all the picks we're trading away. Allows him to finish out the season and see if he can rebound at all in these last few games+playoffs if we make it, if not maybe Sather can flip him for a top prospect+1st or whatever magic he would work out. I don't think we even pick until the 3rd/4th round this year as it stands?
