Eh, I'd just sit Krejci and play it safe. The #1 seed doesn't mean a whole lot to me. It's not worth fighting tooth and nail and grinding themselves into dust along the way to win the division. They should be able to handle Ottawa or Toronto in a 4/5 match up in Rd1.

Great little audition period here for Spooner and Caron here before the trade deadline.

It's mean having home ice against Pittsburgh or Montreal and to be honest I think it's important. Not saying Krejci should play but if he is ready you play him

Cup bound teams can win anywhere. I personally believe this group is more than comfortable on the road and I often appreciate the way they keep things simpler on the road

im excited!.. i think spoons ( such a simple nickname, but i love it for some odd reason) plays a handful of shifts as the second line center, bergies line obviously taking over 1st line duties.. then as the game goes on i think cj will swap him and pevs , with pevs taking more shifts throughout.. i cant remember if caron was on spoon's line in providence? anyone else remember.. and i know im late to this party , but why is pevs called raptor jesus again?

Leave everything alone.
Drop Spooner into Krejci's spot and call it a day. Looch and Horty can watch the kids back.

If it is close LATE in the third - insert Pevs into line 1.

Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin
Lucic - Spooner - Horton
Panda - Pevs - Caron
Merlot

Spooner is probably going to center the 3rd line every other shift, with Peverley and Campbell filling in for him otherwise. He'll probably see under 10 mins of ice and if it's a close game probably 2 shifts in the 3rd.

I hope he gets a shot on a top line, but I doubt it's happening. Peverley will be there.

I'd really like for Seguin to get his shot here.

I think Caron was successful a few years ago with Bergy and Marchand. Recreate that line it will dominate the along the boards.

Lucic-Seguin-Horton
Marchand-Bergeron-Caron
Paille-Spooner-Peverley
Awful-Soups-Goon.

If I am PC I go hard after a package from SJ with Boyle and Clowe. Caron + 1st + ??(Ference?). Then fly into Sweden and substitute Linkopings water bottles with vodka and cover the mats under their bench with sand to get Yeti over here asap.

If Yeti doesn't work Stafford may be available on the cheap at the deadline.

Post deadline:

Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
Clowe-Pevs-Soderberg(Stafford)
Merlot

Chara-Boyle
Siedes-Ham
McQuaid-Boychuck

Flipping Boychuck and Hamilton given defensive situations.

I hope Spooner takes this opportunity and doesn't look back. We know Caron never did this.

I hope he makes it impossible for them to send him down. As much as I love the deadline trade, if you got it, use it. Kelly-Spooner-Peverley could be a line for the next 2+ seasons. Plus, it saves them a boat load of cap money the next few years.

The biggest issue I have with moving Peverley into the Horton/Lucic line at all is that leaves a purely AHL talented line in place for the 3rd line.

Typically, when Julien shortens his bench he takes ice away from the Merlot line. In this case, he'd really have to take ice away from the bottom two lines, or allow the Merlot line to play instead of the AHL 3rd line. I don't think this is a recipe for success.

Actually, to be honest, I think that even dropping Spooner in between Horton and Lucic and having Peverley continue to center Pandolfo and Caron is not a recipe for success, either. This is going to be a challenging roster for this team's continued success.

I've said this before: Hope for the best; expect the worst. I think this is apt while Krejci is out of the lineup.

I saw Spooner Saturday night in Springfield. He was arguably the best player on the ice however he was not great in his own zone. He seemed unwilling to fight for the puck and seemed a bit lazy at times. He was very good in the offensive zone however, he is quick and you can see he has playmaking ability. I just wonder if he will do enough defensivley to earn his TOI.

This is what I would like to see.

I am looking forward to seeing Spooner.

Good to see him get a chance to play on the top line but disappointing not seeing Seguin get the chance. I guess he'll always be a winger.

Looks like Spooner with Lucic and Horton. Letting him loose.

I'm sure Clode doesn't want to break up his best and most consistent line. Can't really blame him.

Spooner on right side of umbrella on PP1. Others: Hamilton, Seguin, Horton, Lucic.

Did someone kidnap Clode?
