I remember Krejci breaktrough performance at the end of the 07-08 season when Savard got hurt after the Begin cheapshot to help the team make the playoffs as the 8th seed.

Maybe this will be Spooner's chance to take the ball and never look back at the AHL again. All he has to do is show that he's reliable defensively and a better option than Pandolfo. Shouldn't be so tough...

Hopefully, Krejci won't miss too much time tough as we are a much better team with him in the lineup.

This is the real cool thing about this board IMO... We bicker at each other about different things, and stuff like that, but when a kid gets a shot we 100% get excited and pull for them....This game is a MUST watch tonight...(not that I wouldn't, but if will have 100% attention)

Spooner always did seem like one of the kept prospects, along the lines of Krejci and Caron where they will be given every chance to succeed.

Hopefully he can fill the void Savard left on the power play...I need to keep my expectations in check I can't wait though, Spooner has been my favorite forward prospect for awhile now and I was excited to hear his game could be like a Savard. Those are some big shoes though

One thing about Dan, he doesn't say things to hear himself talk... If he'a talking up a prospect, he's generally dead on... It's when he's quiet about a guy, you really have to worry...(Hamill, Colborne, Alexandorv....)

I've watched a fair bit of this kid before he went to the AHL ... thought to myself mad skill but will be criticized like many others cause of his size ..... I use the Savy comparison too witch might not be fair to label guys like that but the similarities are sure there ... I'd almost say Spooner has a better scoring touch then Savy but that could simply be the harder goalies in the NHL

I hope the kid plays well. To that end I hope Horts and Looch decide to show up tonight too.

I won't get too high or low though on the kid. Sample size of one is not enough to draw any conclusions.
Hopefully he stays for the trip and slides into Kelly's spot when Krejci returns.
