Most recently, he was solid during that 5 on 3 PK vs Florida. He had a key block and a calculated clearing where he didn't panic. He grabbed the puck, skated a few strides, then cleared it down ice off the sideboards. Not too hard, not too soft ... just right. He looks confident.

I think even a blind person could see it...yet..our coach kept putting him out there in defensive matchups with a line that was tearing him to shreds.

By far the absolute worst game I've seen McD play in a century. He was completely ****ing horrible tonight. I'm a big G supporter but the more this season plays out, the more McD needs to be moved away from G because G is so dusty out there too. We may never see 2013-2014 McD again. I haven't seen it at all since then - he was playing in a different stratosphere.

He looks infinitely better when paired with anyone else most of the time. He's struggled, but he looked great a month ago.

He can't play with Girardi. Help your captain who has shown stretches of brilliance.

Dude, he's been good most of the season. Not great, but good. I think it's pretty clear Girardi is weighing him down. That said one goal was scored with him but no Girardi, so it's not all Girardi. I think McDonagh needs another partner.

I still have faith in him, but he's not good enough to make up for the black hole next to him. Idk if there is a defenseman in the league that could, but I'm sure there are some that would fair much better while having to drag that anchor.
