This aged wellDon't let the door hit ya bud...it'll be greaat watching him and Cal tear up the AHL in 2028 together. Maybe by then vesey will be their agent....
No question that Rochester feels a lot different with Johnson and Novikov in the fold, coupled with Pilut, Cecconi, Davies having strong post-seasons.Good job getting him into the fold. It makes the NEED to draft a defenseman high much less. Not sure if he’ll be a good pro, but this definitely bolsters the pipeline.
Right now he's still trying to decide what form of transportation to use to get there. He’s gotta sign soon so he can spend 3 years trying to decide where to live
Hahahahaha no kidding! I won't bother deleting for hilarity sake! This aged well

I smell some re-signings coming in light of this run. Not because Adams wouldn't, but I think players who wouldn't have now may...(Pilut)Right now, they only have him and Novikov signed to NHL deals in Rochester next year. The other three are all Group VI UFAs and Jandri and Metsa are on AHL level deals.

So he didn't have the other offers he was hoping for or doesn't like money?
It honestly could've been this simple. His semester probably ended a week or two ago. Maybe he just wanted to be a kid for another few weeks before he has to start the grind in the pros.Well this was a nice surprise. What a strange saga. Surely he’d have long been in the Amerks lineup for their run. My man just wanted to play school for a little longer.
I really hope they can get creative in keeping Pilut around. Everything Ive read has said he's been great for Rochester.I smell some re-signings coming in light of this run. Not because Adams wouldn't, but I think players who wouldn't have now may...(Pilut)
Yeah I know.Officially he couldn't sign anywhere else until August 15th.
I know this will bring out more moaning about how Johnson is gone (he's not) but the fact it took him this long to decide means it was a really difficult choice. That tells me he's more than likely signing after Minnesota's season is over.
It's not like the coaches at UM weren't working at trying to keep him for another season either.
I believe he's sincere and wants to sign with us.
One way contract. He's worth it.I really hope they can get creative in keeping Pilut around. Everything Ive read has said he's been great for Rochester.
I’m pretty sure that’s age related. He’s signing as a 22yr old.It honestly could've been this simple. His semester probably ended a week or two ago. Maybe he just wanted to be a kid for another few weeks before he has to start the grind in the pros.
Or, maybe the hangup was the length of the ELC. Two years looks strange.
Not a big deal eitherway. I refrained from commenting because I was good with getting Johnson or a second round pick next year. Of course, I preferred Johnson. It looked bleak, though. Glad they got it done. They now have a couple of young defensemen who have NHL potential. Nice.

He apparently can play right side, but he won't be able to handle a 2nd pair anytime soon, if ever. Will ge be able to play with power ? Like Samuelsson did besides Dahlin
Stillman has been better than expected, but if Johnson's upside is replacing him, that's thoroughly underwhelming. He played the right side when he was a freshman but he was mostly a LD and better on LD in recent years. I think he'll break in with the Amerks but he could eventually provide a threat to Stillman for the third pair LD if they have some mix that gives them the bite they want from him from another as yet unknown member of the defense.
Johnson's absolute ceiling is a #4 if everything goes perfectly. More likely he is a 5 or 6, so i'd temper expectations.Stillman has been better than expected, but if Johnson's upside is replacing him, that's thoroughly underwhelming.
