He has 2 more years if he wants in college...but if he plays his junior year we'll be feeling those CalPete jitters.

And RyJo is from California, Irvine is just down the road from LA...and the Kings are hurting for LHD...

We could "use" him in Rochester because Samuelsson will either make next years roster or be the primary injury call-up.

Never Change HFBoards.

“We hate the Johnson pick. There were so many forwards we should have taken. We think he sucks because we didn’t like the pick.”

“Oh My God, he is two years a way from possibly not signing. How could we possibly survive if we lost this guy we hate.”

LOL:laugh::help:

You can prefer to have drafted a different player but still not want to lose any asset for nothing.

That said, I'm not worried about college draftees waiting four years so they can leave in UFA. It doesn't happen very often for 1st round picks.

But when they do, they’re Mike Van Ryn.

So he's listed as playing for University of Minnesota this year. Is he coming to prospects tourney. Window on signing this guy is closing. If he plays three years of college, why not play a fourth and choose your own team. Would be cherry on O'reilly deal to lose him and have him be a top four or even top 2 D guy.

Probably no college guys at prospect tourney as they have already reported to college.

Work to sign him this spring. Make room in the lineup for Johnson and Power.

Butcher and Hagg/Bryson can sit to make room if they haven't been traded.
(Unless we are in a playoff spot :nod:)

I don’t think he is playing in it, given that the college teams are already having their training camps.

If I’m Johnson and I see Power, Dahlin, Samuelssson all in my position then that extra year of college is tempting

I’d say there are 3 dmen clearly ahead of him: Dahlin/Joker/Power. Plenty of space to make the NHL roster going forward. Lefties play their off side with regularity in the NHL.

They do but from what I’ve seen they almost always play at a lower level.

Johnson and Power should hopefully be on the same "plan" for the year -- go kick ass in college, sign your contract at the end of their year and come get your feet wet in the NHL.
