Johnson has been pretty good for the most part. And I think his offense is very underrated. I think he is an ideal future 2nd pairing LHD to put behind Dahlin for a decade. I think he can be a long term piece on the blue line, putting up 30-35 points a season. When we drafted him and through his freshman season he seemed like he was a Mark Pysyk type prospect but now I think he definitely has a higher ceiling and more offense to his game.

Dahlin, Jokiharju, Johnson and Samuelsson could be 2/3rds of our blue line for a long time. Definitely hoping he is signed after his current season and is playing in the AHL in 21-22 and possibly get some time with the big club as an injury replacement.


Definitely eager to see him play pro hockey.

Never really got the hate in the first place. Plus with the forwards we have now I'd rather take the defenseman.

I get that but player development hasn’t changed. Its usually a process and can take time. How good or bad the NHL franchise has been doesn’t change that.

Caufield's got a row to hoe as a guy who's 5'7" and not a very dynamic/elite skater.
But yeah, you've got to be happy with how the Sabres kids have done this tourney. We've got some good talent in the pipeline right now.
