Tom Wilson would be an absolute dream outcome for him so not sure I understand your point . Wilson can play
Why are you so obsessed with trying to criticize this guy? Seems a little strange.

Wilson is not an absolute dream outcome. It's the outcome, if things work out. Thats why he was drafted 10th. You may not think he'll end up being that good, but the guy is like 19 years old. Tom Wilson wasn't regarded as Tom Wilson at 19. And before you try to come back with that Tom Wilson had better stats at the same age, point taken, but so what? Boucher also missed nearly a full year with injuries, switched teams midyear, and then has also had to sit out time for a couple of long suspensions. So no, it's not been an ideal progression, but not everyone has that before getting to what they eventually become.

It probably wasn't ideal for Tom Wilson to be playing 4th line minutes in the NHL as a 20 year old filling the role a 32 year old plug should've been playing and scoring 10 total points in 82 games, but eventually he turned into a very good player as he got more and more comfortable with playing his game against NHL players. His first four seasons in the NHL he didn't score more than 23 points. He didn't start turning into Tom Wilson people know now until he was 23-25, so people need to relax. It's a long haul for Boucher.

Tage Thompson went from 14 points at age 23 to 68 at age 24 to what's looking like over 100 at age 25. He was a first round pick. He's 6'6 220 with good dangling ability and a big shot. You might've said he wouldn't reach the outcome he has, but it took the guy time. Boucher has the ability to become Tom Wilson. He's like 6'2 215, he's a good skater, he can obviously throw huge hits, he has good dangling ability, and he has a good shot. If you think he was drafted 10th only because of hitting ability as opposed to he has hitting ability and other assets, you aren't being serious. No one drafts someone 10th only because of hitting ability. Boucher could score 60 points in the NHL. Will he? We don't know yet. The guy is 19, but he definitely could and it's unserious to claim otherwise.

And if things don't work out for Boucher, he won't be as good. But we don't know that now. He was drafted 10th for a reason. Making it seem like some pipe dream is my point that this guy is already in the minds of opposing fans that they come here to trash him for no reason.

Why are divisional rival fans dunking on an absolutely comical waste of a 10th overall pick?

Must be because Boucher is actually good! lol, another great take from the WOAT hf prospect savant.

I definitely upset you then.

Good to see some honesty that you are obsessed with this guy who you are claiming at 19 years old is a bust.

Your post is also why people like you are bait posters on a message board, and not actually working in any serious role within the NHL. How could anything you typed be taken seriously as a real argument?

As a neutral party with no preference towards the Senators or Maple Leafs, this player you claim is a bust might be better than any Leaf prospect. Must feel bad to know you don't have anyone better than a player you claim sucks.

I mean...we absolutely do have a better prospect then Boucher lol

Just like Chesley was the best D man in the draft? Keep ‘em coming you’re always good for a laugh.

I respect people that aren’t afraid of putting their opinion out there on the internet a lot more than people that go out and just criticize, just because they don’t have anything better to do.

Chesley looks great in Minnesota and is having a very good freshman season - he even made it on the same WJ squad as Boucher. Washington got a VERY good value pick in him and he definitely should have went higher in the draft.
You clearly havent watched either Boucher or Chesley often and are just abiding by herd mentality by repeating the same things said about Boucher by the masses since he was drafted.

I have Chesley & Boucher in my fantasy draft, I'll have the chance to see them live in Moncton for the upcoming world junior. I will provide an update on both players after.

Anyone have any guesses as to which team will dislike him after the Juniors when he knocks their prospect into the 10th row with a hit?

Habs and Leafs fans already treating him like Tom Wilson.
Habs and leaf fans will probably love him and all the power plays he gives them

This is a hilarious comment given the lionization of Xhekaj within your fanbase.

Hey, wanna give a quick scouting report on Boucher? His strengths, weaknesses, the type of game he plays, aspects of his game that will stand out more or less as he moves up various levels? Or... maybe you have absolutely nothing substantive to say?

I stand by what I said.

And believe me, I don’t follow your posts, so I don’t know what your opinions are.

Continue with the “lol” comments after throwing bait out there and see how serious anyone takes what you said. Very convincing arguments.

Wilson was in the NHL at 19, no?

It was his D+2, the same age Boucher is now, putting up the 7th best ppg on his own team in the OHL.

Looking into it, yes, looks like he turned 19 during his first post draft season in March, and then he spent the majority of his 19 year old year playing in the NHL. So I guess there stops being that exact comparison of their progression to make past the first post-draft season.

But at the same time, Wilson had 10 points in 82 games. There were 4 forwards that season who played 70 or more games who had less points. He was essentially a 0 offensively that year. How many would Boucher have had? We’ll never know. Probably not many, but the point is that Wilson didn’t have this great development arc.

The Wilson comparison never made sense for a number of reasons, the most obvious one being that Wilson is 6'4 and Boucher is 6'1.

Boucher isn't in the same weight class. He will never be as imposing as someone like Wilson.

Also the offensive numbers at comparable ages is (so far) not close.

Has continued his excellent play for the 67’s this season with team USA at the WJC.

There are two types of people in this world.

People that think Boucher is a bust.

And people that have watched Boucher play.
There is a difference between being 100% sure he's a bust and being puzzled as why that guy was a top 10 pick.
