"Pavel Buchnevich The Fake"
Why are you so obsessed with trying to criticize this guy? Seems a little strange.Tom Wilson would be an absolute dream outcome for him so not sure I understand your point . Wilson can play
Wilson is not an absolute dream outcome. It's the outcome, if things work out. Thats why he was drafted 10th. You may not think he'll end up being that good, but the guy is like 19 years old. Tom Wilson wasn't regarded as Tom Wilson at 19. And before you try to come back with that Tom Wilson had better stats at the same age, point taken, but so what? Boucher also missed nearly a full year with injuries, switched teams midyear, and then has also had to sit out time for a couple of long suspensions. So no, it's not been an ideal progression, but not everyone has that before getting to what they eventually become.
It probably wasn't ideal for Tom Wilson to be playing 4th line minutes in the NHL as a 20 year old filling the role a 32 year old plug should've been playing and scoring 10 total points in 82 games, but eventually he turned into a very good player as he got more and more comfortable with playing his game against NHL players. His first four seasons in the NHL he didn't score more than 23 points. He didn't start turning into Tom Wilson people know now until he was 23-25, so people need to relax. It's a long haul for Boucher.
Tage Thompson went from 14 points at age 23 to 68 at age 24 to what's looking like over 100 at age 25. He was a first round pick. He's 6'6 220 with good dangling ability and a big shot. You might've said he wouldn't reach the outcome he has, but it took the guy time. Boucher has the ability to become Tom Wilson. He's like 6'2 215, he's a good skater, he can obviously throw huge hits, he has good dangling ability, and he has a good shot. If you think he was drafted 10th only because of hitting ability as opposed to he has hitting ability and other assets, you aren't being serious. No one drafts someone 10th only because of hitting ability. Boucher could score 60 points in the NHL. Will he? We don't know yet. The guy is 19, but he definitely could and it's unserious to claim otherwise.
And if things don't work out for Boucher, he won't be as good. But we don't know that now. He was drafted 10th for a reason. Making it seem like some pipe dream is my point that this guy is already in the minds of opposing fans that they come here to trash him for no reason.
