Hey if the sens are the second coming of the Flyers then hell yeah rock on. I just know in today's NHL that you have to have some guys with the skill to score the goals.

Lol yeah the Flyers were a real no-skill team back then. Just like the Sens are right now. Great insight. If only our top line was comprised of three U23 players who have each scored 25-30 goals over their last ~82 games, and a 19yr old scoring .5pts/game with no support, + a tonne of other young talent. Ah, if only...

Obviously he has nothing left to prove at the collegiate level but maybe he is one of those guys who makes a better pro than college player?

That isn’t how it usually works. One player that bombed out of college and went to Junior is Cholowski.

Also, BU fan and student here. Boucher had EVERYTHING left to prove in collegiate hockey.

tell me one player that left college early and went to the OHL and actually succeeded at the NHL lol

Cholowski and Bellows are waiver fodder already

Tyler biggs lol

You’re the one saying they’re focusing on physicality. No need to get your panties in a wad

Focusing on physicality does not mean not focusing on skill, or not bringing in enough skill, or not caring about skill. No panties, no wad. If you say stupid, disingenuous, uninformed stuff, don't get defensive when you get mocked.

Neither Cholowski nor Bellows went to to the OHL. If you use other leagues Charlie Coyle handled the move decent . From the OHL Warren Foegele is doing just fine in the NHL. The move doesn’t happen nearly often enough to criticize or draw any conclusions .

It's ok. I know this is all coming from a Senators fan that has been mocked relentlessly for picking Boucher so I won't take it personal.

Charlie Coyle, and Jamie Oleksiak.

Also Wahlstrom, Palmieri left college early after disappointing freshman seasons but went to the AHL and have succeeded.

It's a small list for sure.

Lol you should absolutely take it personal. Boucher was obviously a bad pick, suggesting the Sens dont have talent is very stupid and suggesting that on the basis of this one bad pick is very, very stupid. But keep saying stupid stuff, I won't keep calling you out for it but other people will... because thats what happens when you say stupid stuff.

You're inferring way too much from my comments. I'll chalk it up to a chicken little syndrome.
Never did I say the pick was bad or stupid FWIW.

I think its bad. Never said you did. What you said was "in todays NHL you need skill to score goals", which, at best, is irrelevant, and at worst is grossly uninformed.

PS, you might want to check up on your understanding of "chicken little syndrome".... because, once again, using it in this instance is either irrelevant or misinformed.

Can people take their team battles elsewhere?

Boucher wasn’t playing much for BU. Some will say he should’ve stuck it out and earned his ice time. A lot do, but he didn’t and had other options. We’ll see how it works. I don’t think the plan should be half a season of junior and then you throw him into the NHL. He may benefit from another OHL season, but I wouldn’t think he should be playing any higher than AHL next season. You don’t want to rush him just because he was picked high.

Sens wont rush him. If everything goes perfectly over the next 16 months, mayyyybe we see a few NHL games near the end of next season.

Give him another year in college or OHL, then a year or 2 in the AHL.

Ottawa should be looking to salvage at least a physical bottom 6 player out of him by keeping him in lower leagues for as long as possible.

Crazy that he’s already a bust and a prospect that needs to be “salvaged” in the minds of some fans.

This pick is going to be looked back on in a couple of years the same way that the Hugh Jessiman and Dylan Mcilrath picks are seen today. Just pants on head stupidity by Ottawa. Pierre Mcguire should know better

He was with the team for a total of a week, their draft was set weeks/months prior, a new hire coming in isn’t going to have a say in a draft they’d been preparing for the past year.
