I thought the humor and irony of the post seemed obvious. Not for everyone apparently.

If this was the first time you tried to put someone down, I would believe you. Concerning me, it's already the second time and I've seen you try to pass off other posters as fools.

It surely wasn’t because of his scoring, offensive game, skating or puck skill so if not that, then that doesn’t leave much.

You are being completely disingeous. You absolutely know it's because they believe he has a combination of tools, not one specific one. Very few players are drafted where they are due in large part due to one skill.

They drafted someone they hoped to be a middle 6 grinder for a top 10 pic, despite missing a season due to injury and already it looks insane.

If he went late 2nd, early 3rd round like projected, nobody would bat an eye but they took a giant reach and by all accounts, it looks really bad.

I'm pretty sure they had a quote when he was drafted that they believe he will be a top six forward.

They were one of few. Not saying I don’t like his game but even at his best, I highly doubt he amours to more than that and he’s already off to a really scary start. Drafting role players high is dumb as hell

No, they drafted someone they think could be the next Tom Wilson.

Yeah if they just wanted a physical goal scorer they would have just picked Cole Sillinger. The reason you go with Boucher is because he hits like a truck. He's scary and they wanted scary.

Right. If he put it all together he can be a force. The bottom line is the Sens didn't have anyone like that in their organization and in general that type of player is a bit of a unicorn. Did they take a chance? Sure. Will it pay-off? Probably not. Again though, they took a chance in a draft where I think they were justified doing so.

They didn’t draft Boucher hoping he would be some grinder.

If they were as certain as you are that he was some run of the mill role player they wouldn’t have taken him 10th. Simple as that

Boucher signed his entry level contract with the Sens. Leaves Boston U after one semester to be loaned out to the 67s. He still has 2 years of junior left but would be eligible to play in the AHL at any time due to being drafted from the NTDP.

Surprised and not surprised at the same time. I thought he'd finish the year where he is and head to the 67s in the offseason.

Obviously he has nothing left to prove at the collegiate level but maybe he is one of those guys who makes a better pro than college player?

I actually think this is a great move. Why waste more development time?

I agree, no need to keep trying to shove a square peg into a round hole.

The 67’s run a grade A ship too and Dave Cameron is a quality human being, should be a great environment for him to develop.

He’ll also surely have access to a lot of sens ressources. Just a good move all around.

Sens don't want Tkachuk fighting every battle, and its important to have physicality up and down the lineup - especially on a team like the Sens, where we want all our forwards to be physical. Batherson throws his weight around, Stutzle is starting to throw his weight around, Formenton throws his (limited) weight around, Greig is coming and he throws his (limited) weight around, Lassi Thomson throws his weight around... Batherson, for example, is a whole lot braver when Brady is on the ice. We want our entire forward group to play that way and Boucher will not only contribute to that, but will embolden our less physically ferocious and fearsome players to step up, too.

Hey if the sens are the second coming of the Flyers then hell yeah rock on. I just know in today's NHL that you have to have some guys with the skill to score the goals.
