What I've seen this year (2012 calendar year) Pulu looks like bag of garbage.

The problem is he makes wrong decisions all the time. At least it looks like that...

His breakaways and shootouts are from horror films. He scores maybe 1 goal in 10 tries. Horrible possibility for "goal scoring sniper"

Holy Slappers seems to be going wider and wider. Very bad for PP if you shoot 100mph slapper wide and then the puck slides back to own zone.

But the potential is clearly there. Problem might be inside his head.

---

– Pelaan vielä kauden täällä, jonka jälkeen lähden Pohjois-Amerikkaan. Jos sitten pitää pelata farmissa, niin sitten pelataan siellä.

"I play here this season and then leave to NA. If I had to play in farm team then I play in farm."

my ears are crying

WHAT? You must be drunk or something because Pulkkinen has been one of the best players for Jokerit at the moment. He had off year last year because he added so much weight and didn't get used to it fast enough but still was 2nd in points in his team.

At the moment it seems Pulkkinen is back and I think he will be top 5 in points this year in FEL. He has been really impressive. Speed, vision, shot he have them all. Still haven't seen him tackle so much but he goes to the corners and everything not perimeter player at all. I'm expecting a lot this year.

Sounds like he's doing pretty well. I believe Kuklas' Corner said he was by far the best player on the ice during the prospect camp.

Pulkkinen will never be an NHL regular.
He is a small player, bad skater and not very smart.
His shot is heavy but inaccurate.
Why are you guys bumbing this up?

It's pretty amazing how some posters can think Pulkkinen is a star in the making while others view him as a guy who will never hit NHL ice

I know opinions differ on players all the time on the Prospects board but its rare that you find such conflicting views like this.

It's cause of Jokerit - IFK rivalry. Tikkanen5rings probably still upset because of what happened to Peltonen. Peltonen is really dirty player, he does things which these hfboard sixpack joe's doesn't notice.

Its tough to judge a prospect who isn't going to be getting a sniff at the NHL for another 2 years. The potential is clearly there in some of the flashier parts of the game (shooting) but some of the detail parts of the game are going to take years to improve to get to a respectable level. I really hope he works out. the Wings need at least one prospect who is shoot first.

i'm glad people are writing him off and hating. Makes it better when he makes it. There was at least 2 articles i read from two different people over the summer that had him as one of the best forward at camp and VERY much improved.

So either you guys just hate to hate, he's struggling for whatever reason or you're just ************ yourself into disbelief.

Who cares how good he looks against other prospects? That's a dumb argument to counter somebody else thinking he won't make the NHL.

He's a prototypical Euro forward who is totally and completely one-dimensional.

**** the Wings prospects are so overrated.

Have you seen him after the summer? He's been pretty solid.

Yea I've seen. He still skates over blue line and shoot a slap shot. Still does a slap shot in penalty shots. Holy Slappers going wide.

He had off year last year because he added so much weight and didn't get used to it fast enough but still was 2nd in points in his team.

Might be true. Almost every Finn seems to overdo their gym training. They should get better training coaches.

Speed, vision, shot he have them all. Still haven't seen him tackle so much but he goes to the corners and everything not perimeter player at all. I'm expecting a lot this year.

Vision? My opinion is that Pulu does not have vision at all. Decision making is his biggest weakness.

The reason for that is confidence and mentality I guess. Don't know him personallly but interviews etc sounds like that.

When it comes to potential - it's there and thats huge.

You really don't see vision? When Janne Lahti was best scorer of the league (37goals) biggest reason for that was Pulkkinen. He was the passer on that line and made amazing plays. Btw Pulkkinen was 4th in passes that season in the whole FEL 55games and 36passes.

Yeah... Pulu just passed to Lahti all the time. Heck, even when he was on a breakaway he passed to Lahti (who was way behind him and there was defender blocking stick of Lahti). Anyway it was good decision because Pulkkinen never scores on breakaways.

He was caught in Lahti. Pulkkinen always looked for pass and became passer. Next season he didn't play with Lahti so much and was completely lost.
