Sven Andrighetto is a underrated prospect?!

Coach Andre Tourigny : "Kucherov is one of the best junior players in the world, a second round draft choice of the Tampabay Lightning, and Andrighetto has shown that he's not too far from him. And when I say 'not far', it might be 'not far ahead'."

At WJC-20 :

Nail Yakupov (Russian) ---> 7 games, 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points.
Nikita Kucherov (Russian) ---> 7 games, 5 goals, 3 assists, 8 points.
Sven Andrighetto (Swiss) ---> 6 games, 5 goals, 3 assists, 8 points.

Sven Andrighetto is a underrated prospect, this kid can play.

Not underrated, really. Points aren't everything, especially when it comes to scouting a higher-scoring league like the QMJHL. His most recent season is certainly promising, but there have been plenty of 19/20 year old QMJHLers who have put up well over PPG numbers and never made it in the NHL.

He was fantastic at the U20 this year. I was hoping the Canucks would draft him when we grabbed Cassels right before him, but am okay with that pick now.

I think he is a steal, just like I thought Hudon was a steal last year. This kid has skill.

As for the Q is garbage BS people will say on here, that league is producing elite offensive talent. Maybe you missed the draft this year.

Seriously, if he doesn't burn the A right away it's a waste of a 3rd round pick at this age and size.

Milbury? Is that you?

... Because if you draft someone in the third round out of junior (regardless of age) and they dont dominate one of the toughest men's leagues in the world right away its obvious that they have no talent and we should have taken a different much better player who was also obviously still there because every other team would pass on someone like that.

Sometimes I think there should be tryouts to be a Habs fan... So we could round up some people at the end and be like: "Thanks for coming out, we appreciate the effort but its probably best if you start the season in Toronto, work really hard on not being a complete toolbox, constantly dumping on your own team and sharing your ignorance with anyone who will listen, and maybe you'll make it next year."

I think you have something broken...

Well duh...
I would think that those who scouted him didn't only look at his stats when they picked him in the 3rd round. Andrighetto is a very solid prospect, regardless of the league he plays in and what makes him underrated is the fact that he wasn't picked last year.

My sincere apologies... truly. Just spent way too much time listening to people bash habs for size at work and then having to also hear the same arguments from supposed Habs fans.

I knew little about him before the draft but excited in that Timmins history with overagers, especially the swiss, has been stellar, a nice thought after watching too many painful Hamilton games last year

Haven't seen him play often but the few times I watched the Bulldogs, he was noticeable by his speed.

He now leads Hamilton with 3 goals, 4 pts in 5 games.;)

Impressive....considering he is a rookie! Playing better than some vets who are projected NHLers.

With reway andrighetto de la rose fucale and Lehkonen I'm beggining to love this draft. Mccarron is meh so far

Yes

But what I hate is that the talented guys(Reway, Andrighetto, Lehkonen, Collberg, Hudon) they're all smallish forwards ! The Habs still have no real potencial top6 over 6' tall u know

McCarron... I dont even care about his bad start I still think these big guys at an early age will take more time to develop properly but anyway I feel like he wont be more than a 3rd liner. Im happy to have him for the future we have to get bigger but I really doubt he will be able to play on a 2nd line one day. Just like 'De La Rose' have more chance to become a 3rd liner than 2nd line but hey.. anything can happen im just sayin.

De La Rose isn't small. And who knows with Crisp. There's more potential there than some think.

I know this isn't a McCaron thread, but I'd implore Habs fans to not worry. He's a big man with great tools. I think he'll be fine.

Liking Sven even more now that hes showing he can do all the little things that bring him success at the AHL level. And while its a caveat that he has better numbers than some on the team because they have been up and down from montreal, its a testament to the fact that hes not relying on linemates to produce on what is still a very young team.

Nice little article on him: http://theahl.com/andrighetto-working-hard-to-reach-nhl-p188466

Sven Andrighetto / Sven Baertschi.

Sven Andrighetto is really amazing with Hamilton Bulldogs this season, this kid has a awesome potential.

In my mind, Baertschi and Andrighetto... they have a similar potential, but people should choose easy Baertschi instead Andrighetto, but |!"/$%?&*()(*&?%$/"! Andrighetto is a really awesome prospect... wow..

Andrighetto is really amazing skater, great hockey sens, great scorer, great playmaking ability, great hands and he is really complete player (he can play in a third line or a 1st line)...

I'm not crazy, if you watch this kid... you can see this $(*&?(*?$?%/ great player.

Yeah okay, QMJHL and AHL isn't NHL.. but Andrighetto has a all tools for him and with amazing work ethic.

Trevor Timmins got a gem player in Andrighetto, is a really amazing steal for Montreal Canadiens at #86...

Got to watch him play a few times against the Mooseheads last year, the kid certainly has some skill.

Size definitely kept him from being drafted earlier, but he is an interesting prospect. Wish the Leafs had have picked him up.

Got to see him play a series against mooseheads in the playoffs last year and he was the most dangerous player on the ice in the series that included mackinnon,drouin,kucherov. He of course was a few years older than mackinnon and drouin but still... should be a good one for montreal in the near future, steal of the draft imo
