Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part III

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Good start, but foot off the gas in the last 3-4 minutes of the period. Hopefully they can get it back together in the 2nd.
 
The Niagara goal is a perfect example of forwards not recognizing they need to stop puck watching and come back to help the D and cover the slot. Our D are under attack struggling and out numbered. Our forwards standing high near the blue line. Up three goals play tight don't give Niagara any life. Don't get it!

As much as I like the effort the first two periods. Some players are still really careless defensively. Molanr with way too many grenades to the centre of the ice. Delic misses coverage after losing draws in his own end. I don't know if they watch video but so many errors to recognize and correct.

Henderson was buzzing tonight and I thought Mews with one of his better games in a Wolves jersey. Henderson should be on the second PP unit. Chases and battles for pucks and has speed. I would be giving him some time instead of Molnar on that PP unit.

I would really like to see Roberts do well but man he struggles to clear pucks and behind the net is turning the puck over and caused two of the goals. Plus I have never seen a guy fall so many times.

Overall good 2 points but we still need to all bring our best game not only 3/4 of the team vs Erie.

good win yesterday, I like how the coaches mixed up the lines.

I always like Pharand at centre instead of wing. Villeneuve played well on his off wing on the first line.

I like the defensive pairing changes especially the Mews and DeAngelis together, can generate offence and open the ice for the forwards.

Absolutely agree. Having Ewles back is gonna help. When we get a lead the kids get more opportunities. Blonda looked good. Chitaroni looked good as well but needs to finish his grade A chances. Also limit turnovers.
The 4th line was also good. Liked Streetcar (named Tajon).

Great game last night, need to come out tonight and bring that same energy right from the start. I always find it funny that when the Wolves have a good game, this board is quiet and no one has anything to say. After a loss, though? Here come the usual suspects to complain and recycle the same points that we have heard 100 times already. I am convinced that some people want to see the team fail, just so they can say they were right. It hasn't been a fun time since the deadline, but let's see if the team can find some chemistry now that the new players have had time to settle in. Hopeful for a strong finish to the season.

Was a nice unexpected win last night 4 sure. But let's not get overly excited until we see some consistency. They got Erie tonight, Brampton home Wednesday then a 3 in 3 next weekend on the Rd. Stops in Flint, Saginaw and Guelph . Let's see win / loss column looks like then.

Maybe bring Chartier up before the playoffs to get him going? Seems to be doing pretty good with the cubs, though I know the skill level isn't quite the same as the OHL

It's what happens when you just sit on the bench for weeks. He should have gone to Nojhl to get some live action when he was ready to come back. They have put themselves in a spot where it will need to be Chucky 95% of the time.
