I know the season is still far from starting ...
Will Michkov overtake Kucherov with the best rookie season in MHL history?
Projections?

Is there any information about him in MHL team camp? I wasn’t able to found any info about SKA-1946 lines, or any comments from coaches or fans. It looks like most russian teams are working in a kind of secret conditions this summer

Свежие новости хоккея, СКА-1946, России и мира, новости онлайн, видео, команды МХЛ.

There is the official site. There is the pretty usual amount of coverage for the MHL.

Sure, I've looked through it earlier. But there is nothing about lines, no videos, nothing special. Maybe it is a common situation for MHL team, but to me it looks like KHL teams give very limited information this year. Anyway, communication and work with fans constantly was not the best side of Russian hockey.

it basically depends on the team's PR policies and structure, but I doubt any MHL team releases more content than SKA's. KHL teams coverage though is pretty much normal. I don't see a diference to previous years. Camps are pretty well covered(depending on a team again, but SKA does have a lot of stuff that can be read and watched. I think it's just way less for the MHL teams.)

He will probably play for SKA Varyagi, it's the SKA team for 16-18 year old kids.

It's an MHL team. SKA has 2 MHL teams, for older and younger kids.

Interesting I didn’t know this, SKA Varyagi didn’t seem to do to well last season , probably hard for them because of their young age. Are players allowed to switch between both teams during the season ?

Can't say about this actually. As far as I understand, Varyagi is considered Team B (or Team 2) in the SKA MHL system, so they are usually way weaker, than SKA 1946. The question is, will the management consider Michkov good enough for the 1st team or not. He's 15 after all, and SKA 1946 is one of the top MHL teams.

He’ll be 16 later so same age as CHL rookies this year . While quite young , players this age still roster on Memorial cup contenders in the CHL although they’re usually placed on the 4th line. Not sure if SKA does this but I’m sure it’s the same on other MHL teams at least .

MHL season starts and finishes earlier, than CHL's. Michkov is 16 in December, when they will have already finished about 2/3 of the season.

And that's the thing, on Varyagi he's a top6 player for sure.

He definitely should start on Varyagi, just like Askarov. That luxury of SKA having two MHL teams should be properly used there.

Michkov is on SKA-1946 for preseason games, but it doesn't look like the main roster, because they don't have most of their top players, even though those players are eligible for the MHL. They are probably on the VHL team, and those, who don't make it will get back, when the season starts. So a lot of kids on this list won't make the team.

Michkov reminds me of Datsyuk, but with more love for the goal. How does it compare to Datsyuk in talent, handling, IQ and so on?
