It’s very hard for a D-1 player to get any minutes at all on a strong KHL (or before that RSL) team, Bragin or not. Even a huge, strong, insanely skilled phenom like Ovechkin only put up 15 points (8 goals) in 40 games.

Yeah, Bragin is a conservative coach, but the KHL is a conservative league, it’s hard for young guys to get much responsibility. Most D-1 guys don’t get a single second in the KHL - true for Malkin, Kucherov, Kuznetsov, Kovy, nearly every Russian prospect. Panarin had 1 point in 5 games (actually quite good, nuts that he wasn’t drafted). Tarasenko got 10 points (7 goals) in 38 games, only other recent significant producer springing to mind. Not sure anyone in recent KHL/RSL history has done better than Ovie in their D-1?

Michkov getting KHL minutes at all, and even producing a bit, is very rare for a D-1 player. I don’t think it’s Bragin so much as it is the KHL in general, tough league to earn minutes in at that age.

The fact of matter is Michkov is ready to play in the KHL. He understands the game better, than absolute majority of KHLers. His shot is already elite. His skating is good enough for the league. The only problem is his physicality, he obviously isn't mature enough physically. But he always plays with his head up, and it's very hard to hit him, if possible at all with his awareness and agility.

He can help his team way more, than some useless grinders like Volkov or Moyiseyev. I'm pretty sure, he'll outscore again all our cool KHLers at the WJC, like Guslistov and even Khusnutdinov...

Michkov in 12 KHL games has already more points (5 pts) than Yurov in 40 KHL games (2 pts)... quite interesting.

Michkov gets the red carpet treatment, Yurov the more conservative approach which might be best. The goal for both right now is not getting points on KHL level. It's development and experience. Also they both played nearly identical total minutes in the KHL in 12 vs. 20 games this season. I don't see anything interesting about this fact. We all know Michkov is a different level talent compared to anybody. What's the point? Yurov is still a Top10 guy easily.

Is he back in the MHL?
He should be at Russian U20 camp. Not sure when it starts.

Edit
Players started the camp yesterday, they are in isolation for a few days, then will train.

Ya' poor devil:) A real winter every 5 years or so(I mean the two weeks with snow and cold), right?

Last February we had something like 50 cm snow and about -10 degrees Celsius for two weeks. But that happens maybe once in 10-20 years. Felt almost like at home in Siberia, lol.
