1g+2a today. Apparently he is now getting credit for the assist Khusnutdinov’s goal.

He had three great looks in OT + a shootout attempt but couldn’t finish them. He has been a bit frustrating in that regard. I feel like once a game he has a great shot opportunity but can’t bury it.

1g+1a today, and was also probably robbed of another assist on Khusnutdinov’s goal.

He failed another michigan as well... And yeah, in NHL it would be another point for Michkov, on Marat's goal.

So KHL gives him another assist, on Khusnutdinov's goal. It's 1+2 game for Matvei and 11+13 after 25 games for Sochi overall. He's already scored as many goals as in previous 2 seasons.
Not sure if you mean the assist wasnt deserved (KHL gives him) but clearly he gets an assist on that play. Other team never touched the puck after his pass to the goal scorer. Plus nice job of jamming the dman in front.

I dont get to see him play but is he mostly a perimeter shooter or does he gets close to the blue paint?

He's everywhere. Has no issues on the boards or in front of the net.

He plays suprisingly physical despite not being a big man. I doubt he'll ever fight in NHL because Flyers won't be happy about it for sure but it looks like he's always ready to drop the gloves.

I personally don’t see why he wouldn’t be close to point per game right now if he was given top line minutes in Philly
Without a doubt. Given how the flyers PP is putrid he may even be above point per game after being stapled to PP1

Yeah, same. Putting up numbers as a rookie is not just about having talent. It's about having opportunities. He'd get 20 minutes a game in Philly.

It's actually amusing how relatively stingy KHL clubs are with icetime for young players, even clubs like Sochi.

More like because one fan base doesnt hope so. What a start 24 pts in 25 g.
Its not really surprising. He was pretty productive year ago in Sochi too. And he was pretty productive every time and every where. Of course its a joy to watch him play. It was a great draft from top-10 perspective. Bedard, Fantilli and Carlsson are playing great too. Great part of Michkov game is that he is physical and always trying to drive the net and being closer to the net.

On a normal team, a prospect like him gets 1st line/PP1 ice time, in which case, Michkov would produce.

Hard to know when it comes to Torts, lol

torts has used all the rookies on the powerplay this season and hes given them tons of ice time. and brink has spent a ton of time in the top of the lineup, the only thing that will keep Michkov from getting the top minutes is his defensive play. he's probably not going to start on the 1st line but he'll get opportunities. I think Torts is probably the best coach for a guy like Michkov tbh hes already a wizard on offense, and if he can iron out some of his defensive reads and positioning Torts will absolutely give him the ice time, and the training camps will help him get his conditioning up to speed faster
