I hope Kakko ends up in New York.

Maybe Kaapo has already bought a house from midpoint of Madison Square Garden and Prudential Center. :)

I hope Kakko and Hughes would live there together. Another one just goes to East another to West for practise/games.

I think both will score a hattrick and everyone here will sing together Kumbayah and praise equally both of the young hockey lords.

Then I watched the latest episode of the Game of Thrones and my feet got back to the ground...

Pennanen (assistant coach for team Finland) said to IL (Iltalehti) that Kakko has improved even during the camp. He said that Kaapo has more power on his skating and that Kakko has a big heart and wants to do everything as well as possible. He needs to improve defending when opponent doesn't have a puck. He is quite good defending when the opponent has a puck.

Pennanen also said than when he was coaching HPK they also mentioned one particular name when they played against TPS. It was Kakko.

I think he goes pointless tonight. USA knows they have to keep an eye on Kakko now since so far he's the only one scoring for Finland and there's no other significant offensive weapon on the team for them to be overly concerned with.

On the other hand we've seen Kakko create scoring chances when you least expect it so we'll see.

Regardless of how Kakko or Hughes will perform I know it'll be wise to avoid HfBoards for awhile

I think everyone should look at their overall game (Jack and Kaapo) and not just the points that they score. Defense, IQ and playmaking are the things I always look at with young kids. Of course both have immense amount of skill, but the IQ is the thing that is the most interesting to look at with the youngsters

Thing with Kakko is that he can score even more, I mean if he really try for the goal everytime he dekes in the offensive zone I think he could score more. It sounds insane! but I believe he is afraid of losing the puck with the senior team here and often just passes the puck to some scrub that loses it or miss the net.. or even the puck. He has been so good this two games! I really hope he keeps it up.

I mean, USA have their stars from the NHL, and Hughes.

Finland have their star, Kaapo Kakko

I think it's quite hard to compare Kakko's skating speed to that of his opponents' when guys like Christian Jaros just end up falling on their butts when Kakko shoves them aside.

Jaros was the fastest player at the sens skills comp and is built like a brick house. I think this just has more to do with a poster not being very familiar with the sport.

Always nice to hear from the "objective" analysts like Ferraro going, "Yeah I don't think a 7-8 game tournament is gonna undo what we've seen the past two years". As if Kakko just showed up in this tournament and didn't have a historic liiga season and two golds.
It's pretty ridiculous assuming that players can't improve over 2 years but hey. They can think whatever they want to think. And I hope they'll keep thinking so until after June. I want Kakko on Rangers, after all.

Looking at their overall game instead of production makes the difference even bigger. Kakko is simply the better player with more potential, no doubt about it
