I truly believe that a figureskating background might be one of the best things you could do for your kid if he's trying to make it in hockey. Skinner uses his edges just like that and it's almost impossible to predict his cuts. I can promise you're going to see more and more of figureskating techniques incorporated into youth camps in the coming years. Elite hands without elite feet does nothing for you.

My former skating coach was the leafs skating coach. She was also a top figure skater. That was 20 years ago. Its nothing new. I'm talking about a hockey school.

He's been very solid so far through 2 games and has shown off his incredible edge work multiple times in each game. He's still goes in and out of games too much for my liking, but if he can become slightly more consistent he can be a serious offensive threat next to a sniper in the NHL.

Bracco was known to be a project draft pick, when Toronto picked him.

It looks like he's as offensively talented as almost any player in the Toronto organization but he's at least 2 years behind the other skilled forwards. I have a lot of faith in the Maple Leafs handling of him, when he comes to the Marlies next season. They're going to put him in a position to produce offensively, given his puck skills. The only thing that can keep him from the NHL is his consistency and natural physical development.

Marlies Forwards:

Carl Grundstrom
Andreas Johnsson
Dmytro Timashov
Brendan Leipsic (might be traded/claimed by LV)
Seth Griffith (RFA)
Miro Aaltonen
Kerby Rychel (might be traded/claimed by LV)
Jeremy Bracco
Frederik Gauthier
Trevor Moore
Tobias Lindberg
Adam Brooks
Martins Dzierkals
Nikita Korostelev
Jack Walker

2013-14 - U17 Gold Medal
2014-15 - U18 Gold Medal
2016-17 - U20 Gold Medal & Memorial Cup

Has that ever been done before?

Leipsic has no more waiver eligibility. So even if Vegas doesn't take him, someone probably claims him off waivers if we try to send him down.

Bravo was a guy I was hoping the Coyotes could get at last year's deadline (for Stone). He was impressive with the USDT and at the WJC and now the Memorial Cup.

His play has been surprisingly good despite being sheltered and getting minimal opportunity to produce, which is pretty typical for 20 year old rookies under Sheldon Keefe. He's tracking similarly to Timashov in his rookie AHL season, but i'd say Bracco has looked more dynamic as a rookie, which is odd because Tima was much more physically developed at the same age.

I'm really excited for Bracco. He's playing really sheltered minutes and is just starting to produce. The Marlies are so deep at F and this seems to be the new plan with 2nd tier prospects (a la Timashov last year).

I expect him to really break out next season in terms of production and I hope he can continue to get stronger this year.

I was at yesterday’s game and he started to heat-up as the game went on, to the point where he was used at the point on the PP1. I think it’s all about confidence in Bracco’s game. Give him some time, especially PP minutes, and he’ll start to be a real threat game after game.

Besides Bracco, Timashov played a really good game, while Kapanen just couldn’t finish anything even though he had a lot of room to operate.

Update: Bracco is now playing a point per game pace in his second season in the AHL, and is currently the league leader in assists.

He had an assist against Utica on wednesday that was really really nice.

Reminded me of something Marner would do with the patience.

34 points in his last 26 games is pretty good.

Still think there's a good chance he's used as a trade chip though, unless someone like Kapanen is moved.

Where would he get moved to? What would the Leafs be looking for in return?

He is probably ready to play 3rd line minutes somewhere. Unfortunately he is stuck behind Marner, Nylander, and Kapanen. I am guessing he gets moved this summer and plays in the NHL next year.
LOL no, guys like Brown will get moved to make way for cheap ELC players like Bracco with potential.

He'll get moved in a package for a RD. He'll get into a couple games for that team late this season, narrowly miss making that roster our of camp next year, and by this time next season will be a regular.

Book it.
