Rubtsov's game isn't about getting tons of points and fancy shmancy moves like Abramov's. He's a solid 2-way center which Russian NT desperately needs. And in this context he's more valuable player for us then Abramov (who has an awesome year in Q btw). But I wouldn't expect from him 70-80 pts seasons in NHL. I think he will be our Sean Couturier, very valuable and useful player but not too flashy therefore underrated.

I've been to 6 Olympiques games this year and while Abramov does look pretty small out there he is skilled enough to get to the puck to the dangerous areas the front of the net and get shots off. Always creates a few chances for himself like that every game. In 6 games I only saw him get run over once and it was a cheapshot after/at the whistle while he was standing in front of the net.

Some team will steal this guy in the first round in June. Probably in the latter half of the round.

Would be looking good in Washington on Kuznetsov's wing - that Chelyabinsk duo would be literally running circles around their opponents. :)

Yeah, the Caps are the team, that can pick him in the 1st. On the other hand, they don't have problems with wingers.

Have read in the past of Toronto extensively scouting him. Leafs aren't afraid of loading up on the smaller guys, as long as the high skill level is there.

Outch! That means a lot of seasoning in the minors before Babcock calls him up.:)

Well, it looks realistic and would be a good pick for Toronto. He is a Panarin/Gaudreau type of player if he pans out as planned. Anybody who gets him late in the first or even in the second will be praised for the pick a couple of years later.

Going forward there's some uncertainty, though. Does Johansson price himself out of their plans this summer? How about Chimera? Will they be able to afford Oshie beyond next year? How long does Williams stick around?

They have Vrana on the way but if Abramov's the BPA I don't think it'll stop them. Ideally they probably need a right shot RW mostly to replace Oshie/Williams eventually so they may not go with Abramov but I wouldn't discount it entirely.

Scored 2 goals tonight but Gatineau is out. Looks like we're gonna see him at WJC U18. In playoffs I think so it could be only one game, depends on how tomorrow's game against Sweden goes. If Russia wins they have chance for semis, if not then I guess their chances against Canada/Finland are next to zero.

I predict either of TB, CHI, WAS, DAL but odds will decrease if one of those teams is to pick up Rubstov or plans to take Sokolov in the 2nd/3rd.

Anaheim doesn't have a history of picking Russians or undersized forwards but why not kill two birds with one stone? I'm a big fan of Abramov.

Whichever team it will be they should think through where he'll be playing next season. I guess another season in Q won't hurt but I doubt it'll help him much with his development. He's small and needs to adjust to playing with men so maybe take Goldobin's route to Finland. Or even better - to his hometown team Traktor in KHL. I doubt it though, it's risky since Chelyabinsk will likely try to persuade him to stay longer or even for good.

I can't wait to see the hype he gets by the fans of whatever team drafts him next year, lol. Same with Dostie if someone takes him with a late pick for some reason. They are going to dominate the Q offensively next year.

Alain would get picked before Dostie, was a candidate to go last year before concussion

Not what I'm saying though

and at this point, i think Dostie might be more likely just because teams are starting to risk with those high scoring guys now

Oh i get you, I just don't see Dostie going, he could play pro at one point as could Allain, neither are NHL players in my books.

Dostie didn't do enough till he got chemistry with Abramov

He'll be at camps at least and those fans are gonna be talking once him and Abramov both sit in the top 5 of the Q next season
